Finally, some actual numbers. Pretty impressive stuff and really good torque for a naturally aspirated motor. K series power exemplified!
Indeed!
@@KiwiCarLife disregard that supercharger. Motor isn’t even opened, see how much more NA power you can get out of the thing! Stage 2 cams and a K20A head would make a pretty cool build.
@@KiwiCarLife I’m very curious to see a chipped 2.2 ctdi vs your accord I’m slightly biased towards the derv 😂
@@Mr330d I can tell haha, he's chipped it since and I'm going to see him in Auckland soon so we'll find out
@@KiwiCarLife Diesel always feels quick with the shove but no comparison to the sound of a petrol unfortunately
Solid numbers especially from an NA.
Chris tuned my Sti recently which made 237kw and 480nm which im happy about. Makes a big difference getting a tune, wakes the car up just like you found with your Accord.
Nice numbers man! That thing must go like stink
cool to finally know what your accord is capable of! Supercharger sounds like a pretty solid idea, look forward to whatever you have planned!
It would be very cool haha
@@KiwiCarLife please lsd before s charger
As a reference guide, same dyno and tuner. K24 with Type R cams, 50vtc and Type R oil pump 174kw with 250nm torque, with the same final drive as your accord. The same setup with a rotrex supercharger 340kw on the same dyno.
Goodness that's quite a bit! Thanks for the info - gives a good guide as to what's possible with these engines
I enjoyed this video, I recently got a Re-Flash tune on my Cl9 and wow it's made a difference, love the content bro!
Thanks man and yeah it's good aye
I will reflash my CL9 next few weeks when I get the Cold air intake. Idk how it feels but hope everythings better a bit ahah
Hi there just wanted to ask roughly how much the reflash cost you ?
@@nathanielmg_ $450 atm
@@nathanielmg_ $450
Definitely Supercharger, man! I have one that I'm resurrecting from the ground up, and I'd like the finish line to be a supercharger!!!
That would be epic!
You did briefly clarify but people need to understand this is 150kw to the wheels; most manufactures advertise from crank; this accord is 140kw to the crank from factory in reality is probably closer to 115-120ish kw to the wheels from factory. If you do the calculations; his car would be advertised as "236hp" from factory to the crank; so 150kw/202 wheel horse power with a sub 6 seconds 0-100 is insane for a 2.4L NA 4 banger. Nice!
Yeah it's pretty good aye - definitely a 20+kw gain over stock
Great numbers man, she's really healthy. From~150kw it's about 170kw at the crank if you do the 15% drivetrain calculations. Amazing numbers!
Yeah it's pretty good man!
was looking forward to this bro!
Now it's here!
@@KiwiCarLife i guessed it would make 172 but i was a tad bit off
@@t1ltedd193 it'll be close to 172 at the crank... But not atw. The guy who did the Dyno runs said most n/a k24's dont make much more than about 160, so mine did well with just basic bolt ons
@@KiwiCarLife you reckon you will chuck a turbo on at some point?
@@t1ltedd193 nah supercharger if anything
0.95 - 0.96 lambda is equal to AFR 13.9 - 14.1 which is dangerous numbers if driven at that rpm often (e.g. track day). I would recommend getting the car properly tuned so you have proper AFR mixture
She'll be right
Boost for sure. Had a small AMR500 blower on my 1915cc 72 Beetle. Made it feel like a larger engine throughout the rev range. Changed to an ex-SR20T turbo and the improvement in the the mid to high rev range made the blower feel weak -plus I could run more boost. Then I changed to an ex-R32 GTR turbo and got the best of both worlds. Go turbo as you can size them to suit the characteristics of the K-series really easy nowadays. Love you work.
Thanks man, all that sounds good but expensive!
@@KiwiCarLife Owning an old Beetle that you have spent the last 15 years rebuilding and modifying to perform like a modern performance car certainly can be expensive - but the looks on peoples faces when you go past them up hills is priceless.
fucking love your vids mate ur entertaining and charming af, saw the video title and was like omg finally no way lets go
Haha thanks man! Glad you're enjoying them
Keep the Accord vids coming boss, you absolutely inspired me to mod my CL9 too
Great to hear!
Yess!!
speed and power
Those are some pretty good numbers. Mighty accord👌
Yesss
Gosh your car is always so perfectly clean. What products do you use ? Or could you do a wash/product vid ?
Just wash it every week at work with wash n wax and a waterblaster
Great vid mate. SC sounds pretty awesome on an engine like that.... espec with the things youve already done! Ive alwasy like the idea ofa charged vtec, but if i had that kinda $$ i would proberly go a full blown NA sleeper weapon. De badge a CL1 with stock euro R wheels and make her 350+hp 9krpm monster haha
Haha goodness that sounds expensive! But very cool. Not sure if I will do the supercharger... gonna lose a lot of features I like: cruise, A/C, VSA, probably have warning lights on the dash all the time and potential reliability issues like driveshafts, clutches and engine wear... But we'll see. Would make for a cool video series for sure
@@KiwiCarLife hmmmm yea maybe keep that as is and apply that train of thought to another vehicle you love =) Your accord is as you say the perfect reliable package for nz roads etc. No point paying $$ to spoil that eh. Oh well, exciting stuff none the less!
Told you that serge bo flash is acting up at 6000 rpm. That's over 14 afr at the red line.
Just to note you that those rotrex/ kraftwork superchargers have hihg rate od shaft failure so chose wisely if you wanna go supercharge route.
Yeah would definitely need to upgrade my driveshafts with them haha. And interesting about the afr ratio huh!
@@KiwiCarLife not drive shaft but the supercharger shafts are braking at low milage. Those aren't reliable units. Look it up on forums and you will see fail after fail
@@CL9k24a3 oh right I see
@@KiwiCarLife I talked with every tuner from us uk poland ect and every one told me that they wouldn't drive or push car on the trach with afr over 14:1.
Serge is not honest man, he is pushing his flash for the sake of just selling it and not fully honest if it's good with all the mods.
If you have intake than its good.afr up to 13.5
If you have header its also good. Afr up to 13.5
But if you do header - intake- no cat - exaust. In everyone book its no go. Afr up to 14.3
@@CL9k24a3 Might need to look at getting it retuned then maybe?
Not to shabby mate.
Cheers!
Yes supercharge for sure!
Mmm will have to look into that
Your 25 years old car looks like brand new from the outside 👍👍
Did you treat under the chassis ?
Thanks again for that video.
Only 15 years old... but yeah it was very well taken care of by the previous owner and I always keep my cars in immaculate condition...
My k24a2 euro r made 224hp to the wheel with just an rbc intake, 3inch pipe and ktuner ecu
That's very good!
While supercharging is all fun and good, I’d personally see how far I can stretch it N/A without opening it up all of the way; ITBs(or RBC intake manifold, 72mm drive by wire throttle body) RDX injectors, RSX type s vtc gear, and an economy mode switch for these fuel prices lol…
Haha that's true man, would be cool but I just don't see much point in spending all that money for just another 10-15kW
@@KiwiCarLife That's fair. The only other things I can think of are awd conversion or a wrap
Next do a quatermile run as it is then ->Oil pump -> limited slip dif -> tyres ->intake and exhaust ....thn tune to make vtec come in earlier in the revs .... and do another qautermile run .
Already done all of those except oil pump
@@KiwiCarLifewhat was the quarter mile time?
Supercharger, yes please!
Would be cool!
cartel cams
Would be a good upgrade!
Nice! Is torque not that affected by the transmission? It seems like there's about 10% loss in terms of kW, but torque is substantially higher than stock, even at the wheel. Perhaps the K24 has lots of potential torque gain... Hmm...
Yeah man torque is where the main gains are on these engines... stock wheel figures are probably around 130wkW and 205wNm so roughly 20kW and 40Nm gain with the header, exhaust, intake and tune.
Supercharger let's goooo!
Mmmm maybe hahah
Just a quick question if I may.
What brand of wireless mic/associated recording equipment are you using please?
I'd like to improve my audio amongst other things and you audio is quite good.
As for forced induction a blower would be great if you are just chasing more torque and that instant no lag acceleration with that lovely soundtrack.
Rode wireless go
@@KiwiCarLife thanks mate.
Would love to see a supercharger in this thing but they disconnected them a few years back!😪
Yeah true not sure how I would find one
@@KiwiCarLife I believe in ya pal👍🏼
Hey everyone was just wondering if anyone knew where to get an ECU reflash in Auckland for Cl9 accord ? Thanks
Hit up @kflash_nz on Instagram. He's really good and is in akl too
@@KiwiCarLife Thankyou man appreciate it
Torque Performance in Avondale does dyno tunes if that's what you're after.
The leaning out after 6k, is that a fuel pump or injector issue perhaps? Not saying theyre broken, just not adequate?
Tune issue.
@@secso93 unlikely to be injectors I'd say as it comes back to the right afr ratio near redline, it's only between 5 and 7k that it leans out which suggests a tuning issue
Hi mate. Do you remember where did you buy a body kit for that?
It came on the car - it's a modulo kit I believe
Finally!!
speeeeeed
Hell yeah, put a fu*king supercharger on!
Would be cool!
If you have the k20 head and the intake + hondata your gains will be a lot better.
Yeah absolutely, lot of money tho
Your 0-100 times are very good for a 150kw car
powerband + short gear ratios; k24 making the most out of it
@@choiceparalysis exactly. I wonder how fast a cu2 would be with his modifications.
@@metehanpolat5818 Slower; much heavier and different engine even with a tiny (9kw?) more factory power. there is a comparison video.
@@metehanpolat5818 cu2 is a bit different because while you can do the flash, intake and exhaust, you can't really do the header short of bashing in the cat.
But if a CU2 had 150wkw I'd say high 6s?
@@KiwiCarLife oh did not know that. So i can not tune the header on a cu2?
Euro R next? Why not eh haha
Mm yeah that's true... I keep thinking about one aye but too much money for barely an upgrade over what I have now
Supercharged k24 please
Would be cool!
@@KiwiCarLife would make a massive difference
How much was it to get the car on the Dyno?
$190
Yeah go on make it whine
Hahah yeah keen!
@@KiwiCarLife that would be so cool if you put a supercharger in it, it would sound so mean
@@KiwiCarLife If you do you could do a comparison on dyno runs with and without supercharger
@@silentpanda7495 That would be very cool... expensive tho haha
@@KiwiCarLife I recon it’s worth it tho
Wonder if this could break 15 seconds on the 1/4 🤔
Might be close? Will have to try some day
Guy from pl running mid 14's with the same setup minus short gears.
Try Unichip X, you will get another 10 Kw
Nah mine's already tuned
@@KiwiCarLife Try I have Tourer K24/Z3 stock, except small exhaust modification, giving me 19Kw more with Unichip X
@@germanikus8793 yeah nice I've got a serge tune on mine
Superchargers rob power to make power. Turbo only! I supercharged an is200 with a sc14. Would still get beaten by a magna.
That's true but the 1G has nothing on a K24...
@@KiwiCarLife not wrong, however with a worthwhile boost application fwd lsd ends up with excessive wheel spin and a slow but fast car. Look at all of the modded gti's.they all should have gone with the R platform as all they do is get wheelspin. The money spent on boosting yours could be spent on another car for more content/enjoyment.
@@samuelwolters9035 yeah exactly. Think I'll probably buy an m135i before I supercharge the accord
Finally lol,
Had to get it done for the bois
LS and Barra kids will brag about numbers but they won't know how to control these monster figures on a winding road.
Yessss
Manual?
Yep
I can do pulls at home no dyno lol
Nice
