Watched this video and it looks like we have best Android camera this year - Magic 5 Pro. Trade blows with iPhone 15 Max. After recent updates, Magic 5 Pro became a camera powerhouse. Huge position bump after a disappointing release from Pixel.
Agreed, I have been told my M5 pro has better shots than iphone but that was before 15 came out.

@@mrliberox Yah, some people like "natural photos or potraits" but the ladies like a little PS and I like more color saturation so yes I prefer them. If the M5 can nail down the colors and HDR better with update would be grand

On what software updates are you now on honor magic 5 pro?? Do you think honor toned down the saturation level with updates, or photos are exactly the same saturated like it was when phone got first released ??
They toned it down a bit. But its not perfect yet. I am running MagicOS 7.1.0.176

I am really trying to decide between HM5P and iphone 15 pro max as my new phone.
I want a lasting battery and decent charging time together with good quality photos and videos.
I can get HM5P for 750€ vs 15PM for 1045€ both with 512gb.
I would like abphone that is not overheating and ideally to not brake easily if is dropped down ( i will use a case and screen protector) .
What do you recommend?
Magic 5 Pro. Way cheaper. Even if the iPhone might be better in some cases the price difference does not justify it

The Magic 5 Pro 512GB costs 528 euros here and the iPhone 15 Pro Max 128GB costs 816 euros with a subscription.

@9:15 I went to iStore to compare the iPhone 15 Pro with my Magic 5 PRO and I was really shocked, that the Honor makes much better zoomed images. Everyone says "iPhone the Best" - but in cameras its not always the case...
The problem of Honor Magic 5 Pro is when you make a video with zoom, the image is recording lower than the one you can see on the big screen. I think this is a software bug from the developers, hope it will be fixed in the future

It's the AF motor and OIS. Perfectly fine.

Hi! really nice review! happy that my M5pro can beat the "new" iphone15 in some situations and is neck-and-neck in others. Main camera is really the stong size of the M5pro. Hope that honor will further improve the camera software with the next updates, some details could be better (like saturation and noise reduction too much strong in some situations) ciao!
I am selling my honor magic 5 pro due to camera being way too saturated and inconsistent. In some situation, especially in a sunny weather portraits photos or landscape are looking great. During cloudy days portraits are way to warm and clouds in the sky got such a unnatural colours, some clouds a brown and some are dark blue. NO thanks honor
Did you try the Pro mode? It can have better more natural colours. Also the colour profiles help as well.
@@lltechview i did, but i just want to my smartphone be point and shoot . Very often i just want to take a quick photo,if i will see something on the street, or when my kids are playing, there's no time for playing with the settings in pro mode. Everyone got different needs, for some honor might be perfect, for my needs pixel 7 pro, or iPhone 15 are much better options (all 3 phones got fast shutter speed, but the colour profile are more natural on pixel and iphone)Overall honor magic 5 pro is a great phone and cant wait to see how honors 6 pro camera will be like.
@@lucaspanasski331 What I mean the pro mode has a sligbt different rendition. Also you could change the default colour profile. Tgats a one time change and you can still point and shoot.
@@lltechview yes but i am finding all the colour profiles a bit too much, none of them is really natural. About pro mode just to use point and shoot, doesn't really work, cos of poor hdr, very often there's no definition in the sky/clouds

If comparing price the M5 Wins hands down. Iphone 15 is quite terrible if you account for the price vs performace. The iPhone should be way better but its not. The companies that have market share are getting so lazy with there implementation and innovation, this includes Samsung.
Are you comparing iphones 12mp pictures or 48?

Why on magic5pro 4k30fps and not 60fps? You can switch with all lenses when filming with no limits except for 15min.
Because I am working with a 30fps time line
I'm not sure if im not doing it right or it's my phone. Everytime i switch to nigh mode it won't do night mode shots. Even if Ai is turned on then select nightmode to image it would produce doesn't look like it's processed with night mode...

It should do a night mode. But in all honesty the automatic mode is my preference here.
I m using HM 5 pro since 6 months now.Honestly the best and better than IPhone 15 pro max.
First of all, you're sounding like an iPhone fan all of a sudden 🤣(only joking) What you also have to factor in is that the iPhone costs TWICE as much as the Honor, iPhone automatically applies night mode - surprised you didn't switch this on for the M5P to give a better comparison (3-4 seconds compared to instant - a stacked, longer exposure should produce a better image). One thing that is poor on the M5P is the overprocessing on zoom shots, 10x is pretty much the max you can go unless you use a tripod, rendering can be very mushy otherwise. Purely from a value point of view nothing comes close, that's why it's what I use on a daily basis although the phone isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Having said that, you can still get some amazing shots from all three lenses, I've set up an unsplash page to show off my mobile shots from various phones over the years from HTCs (all the flagships), Huaweis (Mate 20 pro, P30 pro, Mate 40 Pro), Xiaomi (11 Ultra) and now the Honor. This proves that you don't need to fork out huge sums of money or lump around a full sized camera with you, ever, in my experience.

I don't have the iPhone 15 Pro Max anymore but can tell you that the Magic 5 Pro Motion Capture is superior for sports

Atm the Huawei Mate X3 since my Amsterdam trip. Before that the Xperia 1 V that still has a eSim inside and I really like to use as my main camera for filming most of the time (though here I used the Mate X3)
Besides that I have an Xperia Pro i for work (taking calls and meetings) as well as the Oppo Find X6 Pro & Xiaomi 13 Ultra + Nubia Z50S Pro that I like to take shots of my family. (using as camera for portraits and such)

Owner of honor magic 5 pro here, two things you got wrong, other than that excellent comparison:
1. Senzor sizes on main cameras are different, magic 5 pro imx 878 1/1.12 inch vs 15pm 1/1.28
2. Your night shot with zoom lense on magic 5 pro was not done with zoom lense, it was done with main camera, you need to go to pro mode if it is too dark to force zoom lense
Extra tip: magic 5 pro got crazy macro capabilities, try to go close with main camera without losong focus, than move the zoom slider to 3 or higher times, and take a shot, you will be suprised
Great tips. That night time shot looked on screen however that it switched lenses. Though now that you say it when I switched to 10x it got a lot darker. Probably then using the 3.5x

2. In every condition (daylight or night/dark) m5pro has digital zoom from 1x to 3.4x, only optical zoom with 3.5x then from 3.6x to 100x it's a digital crop of 50mpx from the telescopic camera (optical 3.5x).
Just to say that you don't need to switch in pro mode for lowlight situation.

ciao, se hai visto tutto il video, non e' cosi', e anche dove vincono le foto di iphone15 la differenza non e' tanta. Io ce l'ho ( il magic 5 pro) e non posso che confermare la bonta' del sensore principale, se la gioca con tutti i top senza problemi, e infatti anche contro l'iphone uscito da poco fa anche meglio, mentre sulle altre cam, la 3,5x soprattutto, i risultati sono decisamente meno brillanti, secondo me soprattutto a causa dell'algoritmo di riduzione rumore, troppo invasivo anche quando non ce ne sarebbe bisogno! la ultrawide la uso poco , direi onesta niente piu'. Foto in genere un po' troppo sature, ma niente di eccessivo...viste poi quelle di iphone che son tutte gialle hehehe. Spezzo infine una lancia per LL Techview, mi sembra faccia recensioni sempre oneste, o almeno ti fa vedere tutti i dettagli delle foto , cosi' ognuno puo' valutare . ciao
