This video makes me think of a lucid dream. Weird flying whenever you feel like it. Being faster than any monsters. A great feeling overall
one time i was in a dream, i was aware of it, so i tried to morph some objects, and all i got was me breaking my back in my dream while twitching uncontrollably and then waking up. then i had trouble falling asleep again because people were snoring and there was loud ass rain outside. (This is my only experience with lucid dreaming)

Just keep Dog's ball and the zombies in Ravenholm ignore you while playing with it. There's an invisible wall at the church blocking the ball so you can't let the zombies in the graveyard play with it as well.
Dog's ball is a roller mine which can't zapp anyone but it can jump at enemies and won't break. Also all hostile mob is attracted to it more intense than by Gordon.

My worst nightmare came true at 4:37. If I didn't have the cheats to god-mode my way out of their attacks, I would have had a panic attack.
I love how the teleporter is "real" in HL2 (not just the mini one, but the big one too)... if it was any other game, only the npc would have disappeared.
Im glad someone else also appreciates half lifes approach at cinematics as much as I do
Yeah, I've always loved that they do a lot of things authentically even when they don't have to. For instance, Breen's screencasts in "Point Insertion" are not pre-recorded, but played in real time from a hidden part of the map; and I assume all his other screencasts are, too. And of course, the video call with Eli in "Red Letter Day" is also played in real time, which is why the pallet was able to appear. Even Judith's transmission from the Arctic in _Episode One_ is done in this way. (An unexpected benefit of this is that it was very easy for the creator of the HL2 webcomic _Concerned_ to modify Breen's model in one of his screencasts for a joke.) However, I also get a real kick out of the instances where they cheated! For instance, the developer commentary in _Episode One_ reveals that for the train scene after you leave the Citadel, the train car you're in doesn't actually go anywhere - after all, it doesn't have to, because you can't see the outside until you get out. So the train is just a static model with lights moving outside of it to give it the illusion of motion. You can use noclip to see it - it looks so weird!

I feel like the old engine look represents Half-Life 2 alot better than the updated looks do, it looks darker and even a little like HL2 beta, whereas the newer looks are kind of bland and generic.

From memory, that second location is some distance away, so it'd be interesting if the game actually loaded that level section with the pallet (rather than a pre-recorded video on the screen).
