Well Infamous, Prototype, and Assassin's Creed are all games built around the concept of being hella good at getting around while being in an open world game. (not specifically built for movement but their movement mechanics in those games are great). Prototype being the best if you just like to run super fast and fly around, assassin's creed being better if you like more free-running parkour kind of movement.
I'm shocked that 1. The engine loads and is that stable at that speed 2. They so perfectly emulated the physics and camera in a whole different engine 3. Anyone would make something so weirdly specific in the first place. Actually baffled as to how any of this was done.
Another instance of "Weirdly Specific and Incredibly Produced Mods" is the Half Life 2 Krystal mod, which replaces Alex with Krystal from Starfox Adventure. They apparently got the original voice actress to rerecord all of Alex's dialogue.
Honestly that's what I was thinking every time I flew anywhere, I was actually kind of shocked to find out it didn't suffer from so much pop-in or stuttering and lagging while it loaded. I kept thinking it must be coded fairly well for this to be able to render so easily. I guess they did a good job.
@@mcilrain if the port is done terribly, your good PC won't really save you from texture load-ins. It's just that GTAV PC port is magnificently optimized.
The movement and physics is so perfectly emulated that I genuinely thought the entirety of GTA 5 was imported into Gmod until I read the description. This is definitely how I'll be playing GTA from now on
Been using this mod a few weeks, Zolika did an insane job with it. Crazy how you can change from Half Life 1, HL2, and CSS movement on the fly in game, and it actually feels exactly how it should in those games. He didn't show it here but surfing actually works perfectly too, I think a FiveM dev should definitely get on porting some CSS and CSGO bhop and surf maps over and make a server out of this. Even lets you adjust sv_accelerate hop height and some other similar console settings source would have haha. The accelerated backhop he's doing here can be turned off to where it's just normal CSS style bhop/surf server movement. Can even turn autohop on and off too, it's nuts how much detail he put into this
If anyone wants to test the surfing out, you can use a trainer called Menyoo to load props and make your own maps. If you search "stunt" you can get a nice list of huge props from the online stunt races, then you just edit and rotate them sideways a lil to to practice surfing. You don't have to check this out but if anyone was curious what surfing looks like, on one of my recent vids called "Bhop Steesuz" I made a small custom bhop/surf course near the end lmao
Yeah it's actually the best reproduction of hl2 movement of any mod or third party game I've ever seen, I'm genuinely impressed with how he did it because it's identical
@@DeSinc Yeah lol it's nuts, the sound effects are great too. Was there a speed cap with the accelerated backhopping on Half Life 2? That's the only thing I thought might be a lil off but I''m guessing the small map sizes on source games prevent you from reaching these speeds. Oh btw, Zolika made a bhop mod on on Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA SA, and NFS Carbon. He's a mad man
This is unironically both the scariest and funniest video that DeSinc has made. The part with Michael exiting, and re-entering the earth's atmosphere at a billion miles per hour was absolutely hilarious. However, due to the way DeSinc edited them, some parts actually gave off a sense of dread and fear. The endless abyss and the interactive props are actually good examples of these scenes. It's one thing in Half-Life 2 when there's a weird glitch that looks slightly unnerving. it's typical because Half-Life 2 has an old physics engine, and bugs like that are bound to happen. But when weird and creepy bugs happen in Grand Theft Auto V, it becomes even more unnerving when you've become immersed enough to almost be convinced that it's real-life thanks to the graphics of the game.
I love how this content perfectly suits my needs of distraction purely because of how damn tired I am, only 5 hours of sleep and wasted my time going to college this morning because lessons were cancelled. I was truly meant to find this masterpiece.
this unlocked such a specific memory for me that i had forgotten. i used to surf on cs source a lot. and they way he does a 180 while still flying backwards and then faces forwards is the exact same way we would do it there and i still have the muscle memory for it. was just interesting seeing that it works the same here with a half strafe turn while going backwards then just using the mouse to face forwards.
This is one of the oddest yet pleasing GTA videos ever. Ridiculous and interesting at the same time. Hoax Hotel brought me to your channel about 6 years back, and Ive enjoyed it ever since.
