- A Silent Voice has a lot to say, but it doesn’t always use words to tell us. However, if we look closely at the characters, the music, the cinematography, and some of the plot devices, we can definitely start to pick up on the larger story. This film has become one of my personal favorites, and I hope I did it justice with this video. I’m sorry it took so long to make, and I’m sorry I disappeared for so long. When I read the manga and saw that it was getting a movie instead of an anime I was extremely disappointed because they wouldn't be able to fit all the story. Now I'm grateful they chose this instead because the sheer masterpiece that KyoAni crafted has reached way more people in such a powerful way. Thank you for sharing your analysis! Makes me want to rewatch again to admire the details you pointed out
Yeah, I know what you mean! A series would have been an interesting approach to the story, but ultimately, even though they couldn't fit everything, I'm still so happy that it's a film. They did an incredible job with it. Oh, and thanks for showing up to the premiere and chatting, I had a blast!

I just discovered this channel a few weeks ago, because i found myself watching your video about anime vs western animation (and read his comment section that i still think is the best out of all the videos on youtube)... I started to see this video expecting something good and some tears along the way... Instead i found a masterpiece video and some rivers of tears along the way... I don't know what to say: i love anime and manga with my whole life, but your channel is what makes me appreciate them even better, understanding them in a deeper way... Anime changed my life upside down, literally saving it, and your channel it's explaining me why that happened, making this change even more effective... I just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart, i cannot express enough to you how big of a change your channel had on my life in just a couple of weeks, but thank you, thank you, thank you so much, i needed this more than air... I was expecting Weight of The World to be played at the end, with the huge use of NieR soundtracks trough out the video, but His Theme fit so well, it was like re experiencing that final scene for the first time.

Yes! Weight of the World is so good, but for some reason, it got flagged in the CZcams content ID system, where as the other NieR songs didn't. I'm glad you thought His Theme fit so well, I definitely tried to recreate the feelings that the movie left me with at the end of it. This is without a doubt your best work so far. I was captivated throughout by all of your research and thoughtful analysis, and crying by the end because well it’s A Silent Voice, how can you not. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail regarding the musical choices of the film. My first thought when you brought up the upright piano’s mechanical nature and obvious shortcomings was its parallel to Shouko’s hearing aids. Seriously though, amazing job. 10/10 will recommend to friends.

Great video, I enjoyed you talking about specific topics like the sign language, don't think I have seen a review/analysis talk about that yet. I think the intro is a bit long though (music with video). Also when you speak the music is too fast/overpowering, I think you could use slower/more chill music instead or at least lower the volume a bit, and maybe even use only a few tracks and use those for specific segments (so depending on what you want to achieve, maybe one for intro, one for analysis, one for end; or one for background information, one for very important points and one for something else)

When the premier was on I was like who the F****** is this,clicked on and went "ahh the fireforce and dance essay guy"surprised I didn't get notified that their were more videos as I do remember subscribing,seems CZcams is prioritizing premiers.Anyways I have been avoiding watching a silent voice essays no real reason as to why I really enjoyed the film and is one of those films I return to once a year,so I thought why not give it a watch.I really enjoyed your analysis particularly the sound,when listening to the album on spotify I always described the ost as vignette sounding and thought that was odd way to describe sound ,but became glad to see it was on purpose. My favourite sections were the breakdown of cinematography,use of sign language as well as the thematic importance of the journal(something I did not even think about in all of my watches) .Anyways I really enjoyed this and it will be a fun rewatch of this film with these thoughts in mind.Thanks for the vid this was a pleasant watch.
