Chilly Reception is a good move in singles. It is a slow pivot move, meaning that unlike normal switching which always happens first, you cannot hurt the incoming Pokémon, only the Slowking (which usually has regenerator anyways).
It also gets rid of sun, debuffing Protosynthesis pokemon.
I know chilly reception because of the desc
Yes and with the change to snow instead of hail, self chip damage is avoided.
we all know of this move if we play competive singles and some doubles
Yeah
Yep, easily the biggest miss of this vid.
Spotlight is actually sometimes a pretty useful move
No comments? Let me fix it
Yeah, when using a move like outrage which targets a random pokemon.
It's essentially Follow Me/Rage Powder for an ally
Nice
Nice
Petition to get a redesign of the Baddy Bad shirt
Maybe add an Eevee wearing sunglasses to it
16:45 - A hard Quash defender here:
Quash is an EXCELLENT move to deal against both super fast (Flutter Mane) or Trick Room (Ursaluna) mons, if used by a Prankster user such as Sableye
I've literally managed to reach Master Rank easily with my Sableye using it
I've also found Quash helpful in the 4v1 battles of Dynamax Adventures and Tera Raids, since your pokemon hitting before the raid boss can make or break a battle.
I still remember when Smogon had a meltdown about Z-Celebrate in Gen VII because of how strong the boosts from it were.
What were the boosts?
@@hackercow211Omni boost if
I remember right
@@hackercow211 dude someone said it right below this one
@@Yin3000 ?

Chilly Reception is really good actually. It functions as a teleport that helps out Ice type team members and shuts down enemy sun/rain.
zzz
Still seems a little niche tho
@@Sheenifierit is but anyone that interacts with competitive pokémon at all would know it because it’s used on galarian slowking often
@@TheMurrmursonbottleYeah i knew abt it because i played smogon
@@TheMurrmursonbottleI use it on regular Slowking to tank a hit, then switch to a frail and/or slow Pokémon. It also activates Regenerator, so Slowking can switch into another hit in the future.
Funny thing about celebrate and the other event exclusive moves, I'm sure people have already said this but in gen 7 singles it was actually really good because with a normalium Z celebrate would give you plus one in every stat so it was used in very niche scenarios with even mons
Z-Splash was funnier though.
(+3 Phys. Atk.)
I feel like event exclusive moves should be a regular move, but with a different name and animation. That way it could be used, but wouldn’t lock a really good move behind events
Really? No one gets the Slowbro knowing Chilly Reception joke? It's a Refrence to Pokemon 2000, where we have a talking Slowking making bad jokes while complaining about the cold.
Pants boi!
Chilling reception was created because teleport was removed from slowkings move list, gen 8 teleport was incredibly good on defensive pokemon allowing responsive switches, along with facilitating slush rush strategies in singles.
I believe the move is for sans😃
@@Yo_Kai_Plaza no bones about it
It’s also a safe way to mess with opposing weather setters and weather abusers
Only the Ralts line can learn Teleport in Gen 9
I think a lot of people don’t know chilly reception isn’t negative priority though, still a great move for slowing but this can trip some people up
7:30 Chilly Reception is REALLY good for Slowking competitively because it allows Slowking to pivot out and gets to heal from Regenerator. And Galarian Slowking ESPECIALLY benefits from this since unlike Slowking it can't learn Teleport due to it not being able to be transferred. And even without Ice types it's worth using because it won't harm your team.
Also it changes the weather so it's useful against a rain or sun team
tranfer moves are not there in gen9 (sorry if i seem critical)
but why did they have to get rid of hail if they could litteraly change it's usage
Regular slowking also cannot gwt teleport its not in gen 9
Hold on is it a undertale reference
One overlooked move which probably hasn't actually been heard of is Mystical Power (I know it sounds familiar, but you're probably thinking of something else), which is a new signature move for the lake guardians, Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie. It's a 70BP 90% accurate psychic type move which always raises Sp.Atk by one stage, and as it was introduced in PLA, and it sounds similar to other moves, it gets missed pretty frequently, which is a shame, since I think it's pretty cool.
Comeuppance is actually a decent move on Mabosstiff. Because of it's already low speed, and items that can make it even lower, it basically becomes a much better version of payback. It's not the best move it can learn sure, but it never left my movepool lol
Same
Chilly Reception is a great move
It allows you to switch at the end of the turn (not exposing the mon you are sending out to attacks) while also setting up snow
If you pair it with slush rush, like beartic, you have a nice setup
Plus, Slowking's Regenerator ability makes so he benefits tremendously from the pivoting
agree! if you're using other pokemon that benefit from snow, it's a great alternative to teleport
That's actually cool to know. I had to call my husband in the room when that one came up because he's the one person I know who would go to GREAT lengths to get a bad joke about bad jokes into a game he was working on.
Right? It doesn't matter that slowking doesn't benefit from snow because it's switching out
The disappointing thing about it is that it doesn’t actually give you a joke in the text box 😏
Yeah I knew about chilly reception but I had no idea that the move description was about telling a bad joke lol
Mortal Spin is actually a prevalent move in competitive singles due to stealth rocks and spikes (both versions) being decently common, especially with the introduction of clodsire that can carry all of these moves. Mortal Spin functions like rapid spin while also spreading poison to an enemy pokemon.
You meant to say rapid spin
@@wolfofsummerbreezeno they meant to say Mortal Spin because Rapid Spin is a move almost everyone has heard of
@@StarboundRoxiethey meant that the other guy meant rapid spin instead of stealth rock not instead of mortal spin
@@StarboundRoxie "Mortal Spin functions like Rapid Spin, clearing the area of Stealth Rocks (and similar) while also spreading poison to an enemy pokemon."
Is what it should say.
Though I do wonder if it would work well with poison heal or guts in doubles. Or perhaps an item/ability that doesn't allow secondary effects?
It has decent usage in vgc as well
I've actually seen Pimpnite use Tidy Up when he was doing a Maushold theme team. It's probably the most useful when facing a Glimora that's trying to set up entry hazards like Stealth Rocks and Toxic Spikes
Eyyyy a Pimpnite fan! Nice. When he talked about Tidy Up I thought of that too
When I read this I thought there was some new Pokémon that I missed called Pimpnite
Tidy up is amazing and necessary on maushold
Tidy Up is specifically one of only two ways (Court Change being the other) to clear hazards when a non-Tera Gholdengo is the opponent. That alone makes it useful in a competitive sense, the stat boosts are just an extra bonus.
It’s basically dragon dance and defog in one move. You don’t need to clear any hazards to get the boosts either so it’s still a great setup move for Maushold
21:23 Take Heart can be called by Metronome, and raises both Sp. Atk and Sp. Def by one stage each, and heals any non-volatile status conditions.
Take Heart and Manaphy was readded in the Teal Mask version 2.0.1 update
@@fadhilmulyono9230 Yeah, I figured.
Lokix is actually pretty good, tinted lens, a pretty decent attack stat, stab u-turn and first impression and good dark stab is a good combo
You can sweep Geeta with a lokix with axe kick.
@@CethIsADeviltbf you can sweep geeta with a lot of things
@@mrchickinman9984True.
I swept Geeta with my Skeledirge with Torch Song, Flamethrower, Snarl, And Shadow Ball
people just call pokemon bad before they even use them for some reason.
Spotlight actually does have a niche use in that if your other Pokémon uses a move like outrage that hits a random target, you can force it to hit a specific target with spotlight
wouldn't it also kinda work in a double battle where your rival controls the other pokemon? still bad though
@@joeywillems5517In that case, you should just attack whichever one you want to attack instead of using Spotlight. It's still a waste of a turn.
Spotlight was probably meant for battle royals
Actually, chilly reception is not only good, but it does make sense for only slowking to know it. In pokemon 2000, a talking slowking is in the middle of a snowstorm where he says: "i could really use some pants", so it DOES make sense, albeit in kind of a weird way.
YES! I thought I was the only one who remembered this connection
also tbh the move wouldnt make much more sense if slowking was ice type because he switches out anyways, if anything it would be more frustrating
Spotlight was actually made for the FFA mode that was in SM, where its a 1v1v1v1. It's pretty cool when used in that context
Chilly reception is actually a REALLY good move in singles. Being a pivot move on a bulky, slow, pokemon already makes it great, since it allows another pokemon to come in without taking damage, but the hail also combines very well with pokemon such as baxcalibur.
And slowking has regenerator
@@kirbattaquesmash5055 also true, forgot about it
What if Slowing is OHKOed?
@@dawnsbunearyIt's not the kind of pokemon that often gets OHKOed... And also, it often clicks chilly reception as the opponent switches, which lets it see what the opponent swapped into and pick the switch-in accordingly.
@@dawnsbunearywith how bulky it is, it probably won't. And if it does it's cause you kept it in front of a wallbreaker with a super effective move
Celebrate was a good move in gen 7, because Z-Celebrate gives you a omni boost. But it's so inaccessible that I've only seen it in Pokemon Showdown
Oh ya I remember that
Omniboosted Victini or Mew, it gives me so many flashbacks
I actually used to run a Z-Splash Solgaleo during Gen VII. Funniest thing back then. Z-Splash does the same effect.
Atleast garchomp didn’t get splash in Sun and Moon because an omniboosted garchomp sounds terrifying in vgc
I remember using Z-Happy Hour Protean Greninja in Showdown. Good times
i was completley unaware of toxic thread until a spinarak in the teal mask dlc used it
Axe Kick was actually pretty popular in competitive singles, the unofficial format. Lokix gets Tinted Lens which means it can spam moves without worrying about a resistant switch in. Axe Kick provides nice coverage against Rock types as well as to kill Talonflame which is very meta relevant in the UU tier.
Hold Hands was also pretty popular on Charizard in Doubles, when boosted by Normalium Z, it gives you an omniboost, obviously quite useful.
Ion Deluge had a very niche use in Gen 6 VGC on Pachirisu, it could get off an Ion Deluge and turn Hydreigon's Hyper Beam into an Electric Move, enabling it to easily OHKO Mega Gyarados.
lunar blessing is very common in VGC right now, because it pairs beautifully with guts/flame orb Ursaluna
That’s poetic given ursaluna evolves during a full moon
But curing Ursaluna don't remove the guts boost? Why you do that or I'm missing something?
Yeah there’s a decent number of these moves that can be used on showdown random battles teams such as axe kick on lokix, chilly reception on kantonian slowing, lunar blessing on cress in doubles, mortal spin on glimmora, and quash on doubles sableye
@@MrMisutei cresselia moves after ursaluna in trick room, so it cures the burn after ursaluna gets its attack off, and then ursaluna doesn't take any burn damage.
ok
Lunar Blessing is similar to the move Jungle Healing, the signature move of Zarude (which is also obscure), however Lunar Blessing Cresselia is dominating VGC right now so it's not that obscure after all.
I’d make me cry if I didnt play trick room
zzz
Also super busted move in legends where it raised evasion
@@Kryomkit is busted it helped me out on my battle against volo and giratina's first and second phase
@@Kryomkcorrect but we all knew that legends move isn't going to translate into a mainline game with the same iteration
Lunar Blessing is actually really good in Eternal Battle Reverie. Cresselia's bulk combined with a powerful self healing move makes her a force to be reckoned with in there.
Quash was actually quite useful because people used to run prankster sableye and dracovish together in sword and shield doubles to sweep with fishious rend which is why dracovish got banned.
quash was also very popular on murkrow in the first season of s/v
Chilly reception is actually a great move in smogon singles. Slowking+Regenerator+slow switch is a great pivoting combo.
Yeah you can tell that Mikey is at his heart a casual, which is okay he makes entertaining content. But he has some bonehead takes because he never looks into how these Pokemon are actually used when people play other people, which I think is a much better metric then how good they are against the stupid AI. He also said lokix wasn't a very good Pokemon
@@noremac7216i guess lokix left him a bad FIRST IMPRESSION, amirite?
@@noremac7216bro needs to experience a lokix spamming first impression during the early gen 9 meta
Spotlight might actually work well in situations where your second Pokemon is using Outrage/Petal Dance/etc since it chooses a random target. You could ensure that it hits the Pokemon that you want it to.
Also was super used in Gen 7 with Clefairy in VGC.
Yeah you're smart!
there's a lot of moves i could think of being pretty obscure, like..
Me First, False Surrender, Forest's Curse, Trick-or-Treat, Smelling Salts, Bonemerang, Grass Whistle, Kinesis, Strange Steam, Chip Away, Electrify, Flower Shield, Hold Back, Mat Block, Luster Purge, Happy Hour, Mind Read, Mud Bomb, Mud Sport, Psycho Shift, Rolling Kick, Rock Wrecker, Raging Fury, Sky Uppercut, Secret Power, Spike Cannon, Stuff Cheeks, Topsy-Turvy, Trump Card, Wring Out, Zing Zap, Snore, Light of Ruin, and Laser Focus
and also if z-moves count... Genesis Supernova, Splintered Stormshards, and Stoked Sparksurfer
2:38 Axe Kick could fit to MANY other pokemon than those three, like tsareena, quaquaval, espathra (even if it's special, it fits), weavile, breloom and hawlucha
Hitmonlee knows it now in the indigo disk
I’ve used chilly reception on snow teams and I have to say it is actually quite useful, especially paired with Slowking’s regenerator.
If you play competitive you probably heard of Chilly Reception. It is why probably for the first time in its life Slowking was in OU
Slowking-Galar was OU last gen. Regular Slowking also saw some OU usage but it was niche between Slowbro and Slowking-Galar
That Slowking move actually debut in SwSh. It may not make sense to western audience but in Asia we have a saying that a very bad joke is a 冷笑話, literally a "cold joke". So the devs took that idea, thats also a common trope in Japanese anime, and turned it into a move, that part where the mon switched out as a walk of shame is funny as well
Hold hands should be a move that boosts friendship when used. Its better than the 2 pokemon having a romantic moment
Chilly Reception is actually a very good move, as it can ruin weather teams, and also its good for pivoting.
And something tells me Weather might become more common than before. Maybe not Gen 5 common but still quite common.
Another thing to note about it is that in Japanese the word "Samui" means cold but can also mean corny when referring to humor. So basically it tells a cold joke.
Also insanely good for draft. It + Beartic got be 7 kills in my first 2 games
Chilly reception is actually pretty useful atm since Galarian Slowking uses it to pivot and then buff Baxcalibur. Also it's likely a reference to the Slowking from Pokémon 2000
I thought it was something to do with that movie!
Chilly reception is actually really good to let slowking take a hit and then pivot into a pokemon. The fact it causes snow is almost completely unimportant to how people use it
There is a move called 'Powder' (literally that's the name), bug type with +1 priority which deals damage to the target if it used a fire type move. Its base power scales based on the base power of the fire type move it was hit with. Like, why does it exist lmao.
Celebrate and Hold Hands are useful in Alola with the Z-move version effects are stat boosts for the attacks, defenses, and speed.
Wish they’d kept Spotlight as another way to counter redirection apart from Stalwart
Also as many have pointed out Chilly Reception is used a lot, and it’ll be even more viable when Alolan ice types are added in the DLC
The fact that I’ve heard several of these moves and seen some of them in action, even not excluding the ones in his other video, probably means I’ve been playing too much Pokémon recently
Manaphy could be caught about halfway through Legends, though the method to get it/the battle itself were relatively tricky. But if you wanted the rare opportunity to use a mythical mon for a pretty decent stretch of game, Take Heart was a pretty useful move to put on it.
I remember using it occasionally. It was basically a full heal (item) and a status move in one turn.
Three of these, Mortal Spin, Chilling Reception, and Tidy up, are often on random team movesets on Showdown, so they may be better known. Also I feel like Hold Hands and Celebrate may have a bit of the Millard Fillmore effect, being known for being obscure.
Yeah, tidy up Maushold seems like it can then outspeed and one shot anything that isn't a rock, steel, or ghost type with population bomb.
I'm dealing with tidy up just going WTF
Actually a bunch of these: axe kick on lokix, lunar blessing on cress in doubles, and quash on doubles sableye are some other examples
Quash is actually relatively prevalent in Gen 8 VGC, I played Gen 8 VGC and I saw it quite a lot and it’s very useful as well, an annoying move to come across especially with sableye
it uses it well bcz of Prankster
Early S/V Murkrow flashbacks
It got paired alot with Murkowski in gen 9
Yeah, Sableye used to run it alot
Your not lying
The funniest fact about "Spotlight" is that in German "Spotlight" is the name of the move "Follow me", so as a German player I was confused that you hadn´t known about the move for a long time.
You can use spotlight in double battles with npcs to make them attack a specific Pokémon
Despite what you said about it, chilly reception is actually kinda amazing on slowking in singles, as it can be used to pivot other teammates into wish while simultaneously removing any weather benefiting the enemy team, so its actually kinda great
It actually great in dubs too especially when paired with Pokemon like Chien pao or Baxcalibur
@TheDragonstorm1993 I did not know that, thats actually kinda awesome
6:59 Chilly reception is such a based move concept in-universe tho. Sloking remembering a terrible joke only to tell it later and NO ONE LAUGHS is absolutely perfect
That actually makes sense in-universe 🤣
I remember coming across the move ‘Comeuppance’ when battling some Hounours and thinking “What is THAT?? Where did that move come from??” Now I know why I never heard of it 🤣
15:54 I know it because of playing on showdown, all glimmoras had that move
I actually knew about Celebrate! Surprisingly, the move was actually viable in exactly one Generation, being Gen 7. If you used it as a Z-Move, the Pokemon would get an omniboost, and it was extremely deadly paired with the mons that could learn it (specifically Victini)
yeah, z-celebrate was like the ancient power boost, I believe
Splash did something similar too. It would raise your Attack by three stages when used as a z move.
It had use as Gyarados and Tsareena kept splash on evolving.
Ion Deluge was introduced as Mega-kangaskhan counterplay for VGC. It was usable by pokemon with Lightningrod to turn Mega-Kanga's normal attacks into Electric attacks, so that it would be attracted to the user and protect their partner.
if parental bond affected booster moves it would be OP
It also was used in a alternate version of the "Follow Me Pachirisu" (one that used Hydregion instead of Gyarados) that won some online tournaments some months before THE Follow Me Pachirisu Worlds.
Honestly toxic tread is pretty decent. I'm hoping for some of the old two evolution lines to get a new one. It was hype when we got new ones in gen 5
Zippy Zap is basically Volt tackle with less recoil, but it is soo good
Maybe I’m just a venipede fanatic, but seeing steamroller on this list is really surprising. That was one of my go to moves for every chance I get a venipede on my team
I already knew this move since my first playthrough in BW.
I KNOW RIGHT i was so surprised
Yeah.. Thought that was weird. I knew about that one.
Lol I love that move, I was also surprised to see it on this list
z-celebrate was really good as it gave the user an omni boost. It was very widely used on showdown where you can use any legal move setups
I mean for the week it was legal.
@@xatuyou8045week? I used for about a month. Maybe because of Anything Goes?
Rototiller and Gear Up probably boost both attack stats because Game Freak wanted the move to be useful for all Plus/Minus mons and Grass types respectively. As you said, a pokemon typically only cares about one stat. But if, say, Rototiller only boosted Special Attack, then it's even more situational because you can't use it on mons like Trevenant, Sceptile or Zarude.
Baddie bad😂😂😂😂😂 4:34
Mortal spin has been a very common move in VGC, the same as lunar blessing since Cresselia was permitted in VGC. Also Quash on those pokemon you said was pretty good, speed control in VGC is super important. But I understand most people don't play VGC.
I’ve heard of all of these moves…because Metronome is really weird sometimes and picks moves I don’t think I’ll ever see in normal circumstances.
Ooo new merch! Also thanks for the information on these unique moves! :0
Fun Fact: "Follow Me" is called "Spotlight" in the german games while the english attack "Spotlight" is called "Rampenlicht." Follow Me is a pretty common move in VGC and get's automatically translated to "Spotlight" in german games, so I was like "How does he not know that move?"
I knew about Steamroller because I used it with my Whirlipede on my White 2 playthrough which I beat with my favourite pokemon: Servine, Whirlipede, Mienfoo, Beartic, Swoobat and Vibrava. It's a shame that it can not learn a better move until the post game D:
what is your opinion on the tepig line?
Are you attempting challenge of 2nd stage pok
@@user-gv7wx5dt5jI love how cool Emboar is 🔥. Tepig is really cute and I am fine with Pignite even though not being a fan of it. So I like the line in general.
@@kapilbansal4518 Not like that, just wanted to play with the Pokémon I love. There was Beartic and Swoobat on the team too as I mentioned which are fully evolved.
Chilly Reception might be an Easter Egg to the second movie. Slowking was first seen in the movie and at certain points is seen in a snow storm.
Slowking actually really benefits from chilly reception because it lost teleport and it lets it take better advantage of regenerator.
Spotlight was actually a really cool move that i used back in a day. You COULD target your ally who could be immune to potential attacks, hide behind a sub, being super bulky/resistant or using the move Metal Burst/Counter or Mirror Coat. It could redirect dangerous moves while your ally could heal you while tanking hits. It could also make you ignore redirections from Follow Me (it was anti-follow me basically giving your ally Stallwart or Properell Tail ability for a turn). Considering how common even up to these days the move Follow Me is, i am surprised this move has been removed from the games, instead of being given to MORE pokemon. Because very few pokemon could learn it and i think that was detrimental.
Spotlight could have been useful in battle royal too, a way to gang up two opponents on another one, even tho you're still better off using global moves like earthquake or surf
I actually use maushold in pokemon showdown after encountering it with tidy up and population bomb in random battles, the combo of those moves shocked me after using it and has made me love maushold as a great pvp pokemon
Yeah it’s actually stupidly broken, in OU, you can give it an accuracy raising item to almost ensure a full 10 hits with pop bomb or in AG, you can give it king’s rock and annoy people
Actually, I believe there was a time in VGC where Quash was used. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it was from a Murkrow discussed by False Swipe Gaming

The partner Eevee moves also have a bunch of crazy secondary effects like auto setting up Leech Seed, Screens, etc. In competitive Let's Go (yes that's a thing) the partner Eevee is like Landorus-t levels of everywhere because of those moves.
They would be much more well known if they were transferable on a regular Eevee. Can you imagine if Espeon or Jolteon got that kind of coverage and utility?
Game freak could have easly made those moves signature moves for the respective eeveelutions
Take Heart can actually be called by Metronome in Scarlet and Violet, and it raises the user's Special Attack and Special Defense and cures status conditions.
In Switch Pokemon games, all the moves that no available Pokemon in the game can learn and do not have the "this move can't be used" unusable move description can still be called via Metronome
Edit: Take Heart and Manaphy has returned in Teal Mask DLC, as a transfer only non-dex Pokemon
"You're just told to walk it off"
That hits way too close to home, but im told to run it off,or just do anything except tell people.....
Mortal spin is actually good in doubles as it hits both opponents. This way you can put pressure on the enemy front line by poisoning them and clearing early hazards
Feel like i need to add this quick note about Chill reception since it was overlooked in that its a) negative priority and b)used to counter weather wars. A big part of doubles is weather teams and pivoting, so while tou could run slowking on a snow team as a setter and pivoter (it also has regenerater) its more likely use is a pivoter and weather contester. While in most cases the snow wont do much, it does remove any active weathers
It’s actually not negative priority, slowking is just really slow
In Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, a "cold" joke is often used to refer to a joke that has no punchline, or one that fails to get a laugh from its audience. An unamused audience may remark that the room is suddenly cold. A similar joke in the English language is to pretend to only hear crickets respond to a bad joke. An exaggeration of this response in media, particularly in comedies, is to have the room literally become cold as a result of a bad joke. This is why this move creates a snowstorm, and why the user leaves the battlefield, presumably ashamed of its terrible joke.
Chilly Reception doesn’t have negative priority. Its users are just really slow.
@@skeetermania3202 yeah hence the name Slowking. It contains "slow" in its name
Fun fact: Take Heart is actually in Scarlet and Violet, but it can only be called via Metronome. Its new effect is raising the user's Sp. Atk and Sp. Def by 1 stage each, which is the same as Calm Mind, a move of the same type that Manaphy has always been able to learn!
its flavor text from S/V on Bulbapedia states that it cures the user's status ailments as well, so that functionality also seems to have been kept.
@@nesradub360 Yeah, but the actual effect doesn't seem to be that. If you read the effect on that same Bulbapedia page it only mentions the stat boost
Maybe its coded to the dlc mons? Or a future move tutor.
@@FubukiTheIcyKing It's certainly possible, but VERY unlikely! It's a legendary signature move which, correct me if I'm wrong, have never been given to regular 'mons before, not that it matters since the new 'mons could just learn Calm Mind, a TM in the base game of SV
@@lolrenzo7625 Huh. I wonder why it's coded in unless Manaphy is getting added in or it's just dummy code.
The joke part of Chilling Reception is probably something that’s lost in translation. In Japan, when someone tells a bad joke, you could say it’s cold, as in the joke was so bad, it sucked the energy out of the room, making the temperature drop.
I know hold hands vividly because of that one gif of the hacked shiny primal Groudon and shiny primal Kyoger using the move, which is one of my favorite pokemon gifs ever
Here is the story of Iron Deluge (and how i first encountered it)
Following Sejun Park’s victory with pachurisu at worlds, a couple trainers decided to try to use it as well. One of these people (I forgot the name) used iron deluge on pachurisu. With volt absorb, pachurisu became a great counter for mega kangaskhan of all things. Using pachurisu and iron deluge, this person (again i forgot the name) was able to win a regionals
Any pokemon with volt absorb or lightning rod with ion deluge would be a decent counter to normal moves however, normal type pokemon normally learn ground moves which is an auto counter except for some exceptions
And according to False swipe gaming’s video on Pachurisu, someone used it before Sejun’s championship during an online event with ion deluge to turn hydreigon’s hyperbeam into a electric type move
I always wanted to see
*Everyone Explode now* as a move in main series game
Any pokemon who can learn the move explosion in battle explodes. Basically a board nuke
I honestly think Comeuppance is really underrated , especially on Mabosstif. Build it as a slow tank with Bulk Up, teach it Comeuppance, and just play the bait game with people. Lure out an attack and absolutely smash them, especially if its a psychic or ghost type. Mabosstif has been a main dark type for me because of it lol.
Lol, I didn't know the Eevee exclusive moves were so weird in English, in Spanish they are all Eeveelution name+ word that has something to do
They are:
Vapodrenaje (Vaporeon + drain)
Flarembestida (Flareon + tackle)
Joltioparalisis (Jolteon + paralysis)
Espeaura (Espeon + aura)
Umbreozona (Umbreon + zone)
Glaceoprisma (Glaceon + prism)
Leafeobombas (Leafeon + bombs)
And Sylveotornado (Sylveon + tornado)
Zeraora actually has a signature move Plasma Fists, which is basically Ion Deluge but it also does damage. On top of that, it also has the ability Volt Absorb, which recovers HP from electric type moves. It is a mythical Pokémon, so it can’t be used in competitive battles, but it is still more useful than Ion Deluge.
It's like, how come the good physical Electric moves are limited to being signature moves.
@@ShiningJudgment666 yeah :/

Always nice to open CZcams just to be greeted by a new upload seconds later.
Chilly Reception being Slowking's signature move seems a pretty blatant reference to the Slowking from the second movie. Nice easter egg!
i've heard about hold hands from a tumblr post i saw like 4 years ago that was also absolutely baffled by its existence. i love how funny some of these moves are i don't care how bad some of these are. chilly reception is the funniest move ever conceived
I got Happy Hour on the event Munchlax from Sun and Moon. It may seem useless, but it increases the amount of money you get from trainer battles, AND it can be stacked with the Amulet Coin or Luck Incense to increase your payout even more. So if you're low on cash in-game, then it could be useful.
Also the animation for it is kinda fun.
Regarding Chilly Reception (someone else mentioned it as well), it can be VERY good in Competitve. It can help Slowking use regenerator and is an amazing set up into Baxcalibur, one of the best mons in the current OU metagame due to the loaded dice icicle spear combo, and the extra defense Baxcalibur gets can allow it to set up dragon dances and make Glaive Rush even better.

Hello, Michael! Pokefan here....I think you're missing the singles comp use of Chilly Reception. They removed teleport in Gen 9, which made Slowking relevant again due to teleports negative priority combined with its Regenerator ability. You switch to Skowking. Take a couple of hits and Chilly Reception out to a better match-up, giving you momentum and Regenerator kicks in giving Slowking back 30% of it's hp. It's a way to still have Slowking pivot and setting up snow at the same time. The snow is less important than the pivot.
I remember Lunar Blessing so much because the Cresselia kept on healing with it every single time I damaged it to catch it
Chilly reception is actually good in singles on stall teams. It allows Slowking or Glowking to tank a hit and then switch out into a less bulky pokemon (healing with regenerator as well) because it has negative priority. Also I knew every move in this video.
Not just stall, it’s good on balanced teams aswell, to keep momentum
And are u sure that it's neg priority
@xdCoolbro-kq6dk It's not. Glowking is just that slow. It has a speed value of 0. Base. That's it
@@FinrodFelagundTheFair I know he said it has negative priority so I asked him to be sure😅
@xdCoolbro-kq6dk It's all good. I had to double-check myself just to make sure because so many people keep saying it.
i’ve seen a gif of an incredibly hacked pair of shiny primal kyogre + groudon using hold hands and that’s where i learned about it. it’s my favorite gif ever
I actually encountered Hold Hands from playing a Pokemon Sun Randomizer! Never knew it was mega rare!
3:01 bouncy bubble was one of my go to moves in lets go eevee it’s pretty powerful with 90 base power if I remember correctly and it’s reliable recovery also but I really like the animation for sizeley slide
sizzly slide, buzzy buzz and bouncy bubble were so useful
They were so op, and I solo'd the champion with it. I only knew the main 3 though
Let's go eevee was my first pokemon game, so I knew all of the eevee moves because I didn't play sword and shield till years after
Quash, Mortal Spin and Lunar Blessing are common and very useful moves in double battles
Am sure am not the Only one who wants to see a playthrough of Radical Red 4.0.
Once the Indigo Disk comes out, I recommend you do a video called “Every Crazy Dex Entry in Scarlet and Violet’s DLC”
