Using a 90 degree elbow and welding it opposed to bending has to do with strength as well. When you bend tubing you’re stretching it, and it becomes weaker and thinner at the longer radius of the 90
Im glad Ultimate headers makes the 11-14 headers. When I get headers they will definitely be from them. The flanges alone look extremely stout with the cutouts on the top side. Interested to see the performance gains now that you have the intake/cai situated.

When I recieved my ARH for my S550 I had to send them back due to craftsmanship in the welding, there was cracks at the termination of the welds and cold wire sticking out internally at the 02 bungs. Thier customer service was helpful and they addressed it quickly. I also ran a straight edge over the flange... needless to say it was not flat enough to my liking so I had them surfaced. I think Ultimate headers flange design is superior.

I used offset bushings on my rack (it's a manual) and it allowed me to lower the engine ...and I know you don't like them but I used a Holley oil pan that is a lot thinner at the front.
The flange design on those ultimate headers is brilliant. The manufacturing method used is mint!
I agree with your assessment on clamping force Alex. My only thought was that if we leave the header bolt torque at the same number, then the clamping pressure lowers slightly (Pressure = Force / Area).
I think the drop in clamping pressure would be negligible though, and the design of those flanges is like making an I-beam conrod vs solid bar stock: the I-beam removes wasted material with no meaningful loss in compressive strength.
Alex, for the trans fitment issue and to get the motor to sit lower, go to MAF Racing and get their 1 inch k member spacers for a foxbody. You can also get more room for the engine to go lower near the steering rack with a Moroso Coyote swap oil pan.

I have a 2014 GHIG and its got a nice na set up on it right now. Was looking at some boosted options but holy hell every option is so much money now its unreal. Half the price of the car when your all said and done.
Idk about fairmonts much but aje k members have the best fitment might be something worth looking into

For the price arh headers, and the ultimate headers. I would honestly just buy the ultimate header. I feel like the quality is a little better and a good bang for the buck

They are offsett unfortunately lol i think the motor has to go forward some, but trying to be as close to firewall as possible

Every other 5.0 has boss intakes lol. I agree on the hpipe though does wonders for making the raspy coyote not as raspy. I prefer h on any engine 4v, coyote, pushrod whatever...h ftw

I’m buying a set immediately and installing my 18 manifold. Will I need a reflash for the headers or is restriction change not required tune since the metered airflow doesn’t change
I would get a tune update.
My car runs fine without a tune currently with headers but it would pick up some with a reflash.
Crazy how efficient the Coyote head is with that much smaller of exhaust ports than the 5.8 has
The 5.8 was designed for boost which is why there are differences on the exhaust side. Either head flows killer.

I came VERY close to getting Ultimate Header but the deal I got on LTH was just too good. It was so much of a difference I could have bought 2 sets for the price of the GUCCI Ultimate Header. I have no doubt that they are better but couldn't justify like $800 difference.
That Camaro sounded so good… then it didn’t.
2011 Mustang gt stock shorty headers are very efficient, and at most long tubes may add 25wheel. That's what i have seen on these cars.
25 wheel is a ton of power on a mostly stock na 5.0. What more do you expect? They also make the car sound significantly better not just louder but a more quality sound imo. Throaty. You can also make more power at less boost once you're boosted. It's a no brainer.
Was not impressed with my gt350 ARH headers. The flange surface wasnt even smooth, almost like they didnt use a high enough grit to finish, took 8 weeks to deliver and they threw it all in 1 box (headers to resonators delete) and the box fell apart. My ultimate headers in my coyote swap new edge looked and fit great. Easy access to all the bolts.

Are you going try the headers & X pipe with the stock cat back? Curious to hear it, b/c most swap it first, but Ford designs the exhaust to sound good. Full exhaust can be too loud.
Because people put the loudest possible mufflers on with free flowing exhaust don't do that. Do like Borla touring or one of the other more tame mufflers.
S197’s need a GT500 muffler, the stock muffler sounds AWFUL with free flowing. Meanwhile a gt500 muffler is a smooth sound and not loud at all even Catless.
@@169abr Will add to that. GT500 mufflers are excellent, and better sounding than roush.
@@bryangillis1839 GT500 mufflers are very very “adult” while Roush is really nice without FFE but once you go FFE it’s horrible.

I know a guy who had 2014 5.0 Vmp gen 2 650wheel 91 octane and he added long tubes and full 3in exhaust over stock shorty headers and only picked up like 34wheel, which goes to show you the s197 stock shorty headers are very efficient.
Long tubes are around $2k, install another $1k. So $3k for 20wheel. Not worth it to me man, but whatever rows your boat.
He probably made 34 wheel more at a lower boost level too. You have to consider that. The gains are huge you get gains everywhere even down low and you'll get good torque. Imagine how much more it would make if boost was in the same spot. That is some pretty big gains if you ask me.

To this day still the quickest & fastest Ford Outlaw 10.5 car. I wont go into the Pro-Mod. AF i enjoy your content I didn't leave the comment to be a dick. Paying for 8+ hrs of labor (not you the average owner) on top of the cost of the headers isnt economical but hey if budget isnt an issue they Shine with a power adder. NA you'll see 25-30 on the top end from what I saw on dyno runs. It's like guys in the 80's that put GT 40 intakes on bone stock 5.0's. Those didnt come alive til High in the powerband & required heads and cam to make the high price feasable.👍
