That 100 octane gains on the ZR-1 are surprising!
Well the extra octane doesn't do anything hp wise, unless it's tuned for that. It just helps prevent Detonation. Running 100 octane in your 87 tuned ford explorer is just wasted money that will add no power.
I'm impressed, the ZR1 is really moving with minimal changes
Also, it's interesting to see that the white car does a better time compared to its previous Vortech setup even if your dyno showed a 50whp difference. Good example for those chasing dyno numbers when they should just test their car in the real world.
Exactly, on average the ESS makes more power with less pulley than the V3. "power under the curve"
I agree as well. But sometimes heat soak and weather conditions can make a huge difference as well. But the times don't lie.

Really enjoyed this video, from beginning to end. Goood video work, transitions, perspectives while driving, a flowing narration/commentary throughout, the whole enchilada. Alex, I like this direction your going, keep doing it 👍🏼. Also, and more specifically with this series between the two cars, it would be great I think to continue their side by side build with the occasional friendly sparring south of the border. Great video Alex!!! I really like the ESS G3X SC. I am gonna put it on my incoming Dark Horse. I have a Corvette Z06 + a Porsche 911 Turbo S. The P car is extremely fast. Running 9.7 on the 1/4 mile with just a tune, headers & some weight reduction. I was always a Pro-charger guy but the ESS G3X with the G4 intercooler & 110 pulley is what I plan for the DH.

I mean it being lighter with better aero is the only reason it's as close as it is the ess blown 5.0 put down 100 more rwhp. Torque doesn't matter as much in this type of test. It also didn't go that quick till he went to race fuel the coyote was on pump gas far as I know.

Ya but 100 octane on a 93 tune doesn't do shit. All it did in this case was preventing detonation.

An intake in the ZR1 would make it a fair race. Love the content, keep it up.
According to everyone, a air intake is useless until you port the blower.
@@YDBT4LIFE if the new Kong snout is big enough, a Synergy 4.5" or even better Kong's 5" intake should make a noticeable difference. If the snout is stock size then probably not.

This ESS blower for the money and ease of install is awesome. Up in the northeast with 65 degree weather be a monster. VMP acts like they are better than Eaton. Yet they use an Eaton Rotor pack and aren’t handcuffed by EPA EMISSIONS standards.
