  • Unfortunate turn of events and a little "certified Marine Mechanic" half-assery (NOT ME) led to engine removal being the only option left for my friend Frank’s boat, but turns out pulling the stern drive engine out of one of these Stingray boats is SUPER EASY!
I just might have a new gig on my hands... #marine
If you have questions feel free to ask I realize the video shows exactly jack shit, but I feel like the explanation is enough honestly it’s that easy. 👍

    Hey buddy! Read this!
Update 10/5: Algorithm picked this up or something (went from 3 to 3k views in a blink) so if you’re watching and disappointed in the lack of detail I apologize! Didn’t take it very serious cause I’m not a big “boat guy” but that being said I would definitely rebuild another one of these engines and pulling and installing was really SUPER easy so if you have any questions at all just ask and I’ll try to help you out further! Thank you! 🤘

Also, yes, that means I did in fact find a crack in the block when I pulled the engine so we did end up getting a new block. New piston rings, rod and main bearings, and Frank is back in action 👌

Blue water inlet its for runing on hose if you dont have muffs.

That’s what I figured! 👍 Sure beats using the muffs lol

And also a great way to drain water from the bottom of the engine when winterizing. Mine has a shitty rubber-coated metal clip that holds the hose upright. If you pull it out of the clip, you can drop the end of the hose in the bilge and open the cap. Probably want to do this when you've also taken off some of the upper hoses just so the water will flush out faster.

Negative. Thats for flushing only without the engine running. Running without muffs will damage the impeller in the lower unit.

@@WildRoverSailing actually that’s incorrect for this one, only one impeller and its belt driven in front of the motor. Have no issues running these off the blue tap! No lower unit impeller to worry about 🤙

Central MN, about 20min north of the cities.
