    I have a buzz I bought when they first introduced esp plastic. It's about twenty years old or so now. It's dead straight and doesn't fade left at all, but doesn't turn over hardly at all no matter how hard you throw it. I bag a hex as well, and it fades at the end, so I have a spot for both. Both outstanding.

    Great review of these discs! I currently bag a Hex, Reactor, Emac Truth, and Buzzz. A huge point of interest for me when looking for a midrange is BH/FH versatility, and MVP/Axiom just nailed this! Unfortunately the Buzzz doesn’t forehand well in my experience; it is a backhand only disc for me, which may ultimately lead to its departure from my bag.
    It may just be a preference thing but I have also bagged the Buzzz for a couple years now and after my first round with the Hex, I knew it was for me! Would hate to see the Buzzz go, but have a feeling it will be replaced with another Hex.

    I’ve thrown all 3. The buzzz for about 5 years, the hex almost a year and the pathfinder for the last 2 months.
    The buzzz, of which I’ve owned 4, have slightly more turn and fade as the hex. Both discs will tell you what you are doing wrong mechanically with your throw.
    I stopped bagging the buzzz after feeling the hex in my hand. It just felt better.
    I stopped bagging the hex after throwing the pathfinder because I wanted a straight mid without the turn and fade. I already bagged a glow reactor which has less turn and more fade as well as a fission reactor which has similar turn and slightly more fade than the buzzz. It is like an overstable buzzz but more comfortable in the hand. The pathfinder was the exact disc I was looking for. I haven’t noticed it having as much glide as the hex but because it doesn’t turn and fade as much it does seem to go farther than the buzzz.

    • @ApolloDiscGolf
      @ApolloDiscGolf  Pƙed rokem

      Yeah it just depends what kind of straight you are talking about! if you are talking hyzer flip to fly straight and finish straight... Then yeah, something more like the Mind Bender or Buzzz SS is straighter. But if you are talking about smashing on a disc flat or a disc that just flies straight on whatever line you throw it on... Then that would be a Buzzz, yeah it will fade at the end. But whatever line you rip it on, as long as you throw it clean, it should hold straight on that line for the most part

      @FurballMK3 Pƙed rokem

      @@ApolloDiscGolf I know MVP will change their flight numbers based on what plastic the disc is in, though I think it's more pronounced with TSA because of the lack of over mold. The plastics seem to cool differently, which usually results in parting line height variations. PLH differences seem to always happen between different plastic types, and sometimes weights. One plastic isn't always the least stable. Some molds Ethos may be the flippiest, but in others Ethos is the most beefy. Within a mold plastics tend to stay consistent in stability. For example I have a lot of third run Mantras in each available plastic. Aura Mantras are always the most stable, then Ethereal, then Ethos. I know if I buy another third run Mantra in Ethos I can count on it being on the flippy side of that molds stability. I personally find this very useful, as it is extremely easy to bag multiples of a mold with dependable flight variations out of the box.

    • @ApolloDiscGolf
      @ApolloDiscGolf  Pƙed rokem

      Yeah for sure! For the distance thing, I think people just want the furthest flying disc in each category for the same reason people want to throw further, when you can throw the slower discs and still get to your target you can keep a lot more control and accuracy! Like in the woods if you can throw a Buzzz 320ft then that sucker isn't fading much and going to stick where it lands and put you in the middle of the fairway, but a fairway driver will finish a little more, maybe skip and put you right off the fairway enough where you have to straddle out of something! So in that instance you want the further flying mid range over just throwing a fairway.

The outer rim takes so much punishment from enviroment compared to Innovas Champion plastic, Lattitudes Opto, Dynamic Discs Lucid plastic and many many more.
      My first Hex (premium plasic) after like first throw (ok, I hit rocks but I have done that many times with other plastics and they've been fine, unless really unlucky) got a big deep scar/cut. And same thing has happend to most of my MVP / Axiom disks (which I otherwise love). So I have started to become afraid to throw my beloved discs cause it seems like every throw will risk a lot of damage of the disc.
