Part #1: Install EVE-NG in Google Cloud (2021 Edition)

Hi Tony, really good instruction. Is there instruction on how to manage the gcloud billing for the VM we would stand up for eve-ng? Is it as simple as powering down the gcloud VM to stop the billing? Thank you!

How to change Region / Zone in Google Cloud?
Problem:
Failed to start eve-ng: The zone 'projects/third-facility-304216/zones/europe-west2-c' does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. Try a different zone, or try again later.
Probably it happens because of your storage request. U can select other regions on the top when ur creating the VM itself. Can also test your latency to choose the best region using gcpíng (just serch it on google, will be the first result)
Unable to follow, as google cloud has stopped support for Ubuntu 16.04 . Does anyone have an alternate way to install?

@@0goyal Hey buddy, figured out a way: while using the command to clone the nested image of ubuntu16.04, we have to change the name of the ubuntu to the new one --source-image-family=ubuntu-1604-lts to --source-image-family=ubuntu-minimal-1604-lts

Lying? This video is nearly two years old. We've since shutdown the podcast and the site is no longer online. I'm sorry you're disappointed by a two year old link no longer being available but please don't assume anyone was lying when they said that the files would be around. Things change.

How about solve the problem instead of giving an excuse that its an old video. Take it down if its no longer applicable. The video age doesnt justify it still being up and no longer relevant. Same issue
use this command to see the correct and available image name. execute from the google cloud shell. command is "gcloud compute images list"
@@josebogo the eve-ng cookbook that Tony references earlier in the video is updated with all the current commands and image references
