These videos are meant to be educational but also funny, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
0:00 Intro
0:05 No issues found. The customer didn't say anything when they picked up the vehicle.
0:20 This is exactly how the vehicle came in. Castle nut then the cotter pin gets installed afterward is how it's supposed to be. A cotter pin is a simple fastener that's used to secure a bolt in place.
0:35 The technician said: "The noise was from the damage to the front brake rotor backing plates being damaged and rubbing on the rotors. He had also cut the exhaust pipe in front of the fuel tank and did not have a turndown. That fuel tank is on borrowed time. He declined all of the work. Hopefully, he fixes it without hurting himself or others."
0:49 Sway bar links were improperly installed as shown in the clip.
The customer came in for an alignment but the technician had to re-install the sway bar end links correctly and do some other repairs.
1:09 Nuts for u-bolts came loose, only 1 left holding the one u-bolt on. The mechanic said the truck's steering was all over the place, and he is surprised the customer did not mention anything about it. He is also not sure who installed the new front brakes and didn't notice any of this.
1:22 Just like the fuel shark we showed in a previous video. This is a gimmick. The closest information the mechanic could find about these was on a website - mundi.com/product/epm-vortex/
Supposed to improve fuel mileage, etc... but it's just a gimmick a lot of people far for.
1:41 Customer's car needs a new engine.
1:55 Customer tried fixing brake lines with JB weld and just used a fuel line as a brake line. This is never the way to fix brake lines, and the whole line should be replaced.
2:02 The meat was expired by over 2 weeks.
2:12 Engine and transaxle look to be both very damaged. The vehicle will most likely be a write-off.
2:26 Customer drove over this on the highway and heard a loud noise. They brought it into this shop to get it removed, and then said they will be going to a body shop to get the hole repaired.
2:34 Some new windshield wipers have plastic covers on the blades so they don't get damaged. The customer left them on when they installed the new wipers.
2:43 Not sure who installed the Nike slider as a sway bar bushing but the mechanic had a good laugh when they saw this. If it works, it works!
2:52 Just a joke of a subscriber working on his car.
2:57 Outro. Thanks for watching! - Auta a dopravní prostředky

I'd love to see one where someone uses a regular leather belt as a timing belt. 😆
@@fitybux4664 that would be hilarious to see 😆
Can totally relate with that last clip 😅😅😅 Somedays feel like strapping some c4 to it and just sending it 🤣
Enjoyed the video? I want to keel myself now
The dichotomy between “something smells, I need a mechanic” to “I literally removes and disabled 1/5th of the steering mechanism. I just need my tires checked though” is great.
🤓
While in school at ITT Tech for automotive course we were allowed and encouraged to start repairing our vehicles. We had some real "brainiacs'. One day one of them asked the instructor for help because he could not remove "oil filter" from his car. To this day I have no clue how he managed to wrap oil filter wrench around the starter.
I have no doubts if he were looking to be an aircraft mechanic, the instructor would have told him to hold down a piece of paper.
I'da thought he'd asked why wiring went to the filter !!
To be an auto mechanic you'd think you'd have to be into cars and at least have a basic amount of knowledge on them.
Wow!
My '97 Ranger's oil filter is mounted directly above the starter (that's fun). The starter's actually less wide than the filter; you could easily get a filter wrench around it.
Once again you shed light on the fact that there are people out there who have no business under the hood of a car… or behind the wheel, for that matter.
Or to even exist. Methinks they display that lack of intelligence to other parts of their life as well...
Exactly what I was thinking. 👍
Go easy on them. They are new to our planet.
You’re too generous, they shouldn’t be within spitting distance of a car
These people shouldn't own anything more complex than a paper bag.
cutting springs for a lower ride height is one thing, removing them entirely is on a whole other level
Right? Must ride like 💩
Bump stops FTW.
I knew someone who cut the shocks out. Seriously, the ends of the shocks were still there.
one could say its a new low...
Best ride quality, ever…you’re missing out
The best thing about this CZcams channel is there’s no click bait, the absurd thumbnail pics and titles are literally shown in the video 😂👌🏼 other CZcamsrs use titles like ‘omg I almost died today’ and it’s usually like a 22 min vid of them chatting bulla and then at the end of the video they say they dropped a bottle of water and that’s how they nearly died 😂
You don't need click bait when reality is this absurd!!!
I'm surprised to see so many customers admit that they did the work themselves rather than claiming it was "another shop"
some of them are wrongly proud about there mechanical ingenuity......and that's scary
I found myself wondering how many of these jury-rigged vehicles result in catastrophic failures resulting in damage, injury or death, while watching this video, today.
They will be proud of it, until they crash into someone and their "work" will be the determined cause. Right then, they will lose their memory about the culprit.
I did some work on my car before, but i´m not proud of it - in fact, i´m just happy it somehow worked out 😘.
That said, i also know my limits. I´m not gonna work on brakes or undercarriage, unless i´d have to.
@@DiegoKawasaka It's called the Dunning Kruger effect, thinking you're waaaay smarter than you are🤣
I know! Like they're proud🤣
0:06 After watching so many of these videos, I'm surprised that the customer even bothered to pour the oil out of the bottle first, and didn't just lay the full bottle on top of the motor.
😆 somebody actually did that with an air filter in a previous video. Came in for a burning smell
I just put 4 quarts of oil in my car, but the oil level is still low.
Where did you put the oil in?
It's in the bag on my back seat.
Pretty sure they added oil to the engine properly, set the empty quart on the engine while getting the next quart, and it fell down there and they just forgot it.
I'm surprised they got it into the engine
maybe he was a scientist, and assumed the oil would transfer via osmosis
OH, that makes those cotter pin nuts SO much easier to install!
😆

2:41 You get full marks for saying that line without busting a gut laughing.
The end got me really good and the Nike slide as a bushing was something else. Thank you for the laughs today
yeah that last one lmao. Was like frustration level, Hammer.
Hey, it got them to a shop and probably saved the sway bar from gouging all up.
@@cowboy3490 Exactly. It seems the customer didn't consider it a fix, but it did allow him to get to the shop. Compared to the other stuff customers do, this one is ok by me.
@@russellhltn1396 It wasn't the worst out there. It was a creative working solution until a better solution was done.

Yeah im shocked. With those brake lines and clamps. I hope these people stay off the road

I've prepared my own cars since I was 16. Arthritis caught up with me so I can't do it anymore. I never did any of the stupidity. When I worked on a car I put things back correctly. Who taught me my dad. I remember I was 5 years old in Germany sitting on the fender of a 1960 rambler classic and watching is my dad lubricated the centrifugal advance in the distributor. No vacuum advance just weights and a spinning object.
@@JohnRodriguesPhotographer Same here. Dad taught me everything I know. I replaced the head gasket on my car a couple years back with no issues. I just helped him replace his transmission, steering rack, control arms, and struts a couple weeks ago. We've probably saved the cost of a new car in repair bills over the years.
@@JohnRodriguesPhotographer Yep a mechanical advance
Nothing like a DIY job then taking it to a mechanic to fix👍

The ride on that car without Springs had to be something to behold
I had a coworker from Nigeria once, whom told me of his friend whom got a citroen. The kind that lowers itself once you park, it freaked him out so he welded them into place. 😁
The windshield wiper one got me laughing SO HARD!
Same here, especially since I have made that mistake once before. Figured it out pretty quick and was pissed at myself for not noticing it when I put them on.
Last time I got new wipers, I bought silicone ones for the first time. I was like, "Huh, that's interesting, the rubber's orange..". Then when I tested them and they didn't work at ALL I realized that they were orange covers. Nice bright color so you notice it lol 🤦
At least I realized right away and didn't need to bring it in to a shop to get embarrassed 😂
My shop just had a car come in for the same "concern."
I like the one where the customer replaced his battery and now the car wouldn't start. He left the plastic protectors on the posts and clamped the terminals over them.
@@drivingfailsofsacramento Same thing happened to me but the covers were blue. 🤦♂️ They should just make the covers out of rubber lol

1 hours labor charge listed as stupid fee with the recommended resolution. As read, the owner's manual, should result in a reduction of idiots. If I had to pay $180 in order to learn that turning a dial resolved my problem, I would be much more careful about bringing a car in unnecessarily. I might even learn how to read and understand what my car does. Which seems to be a very advanced concept for a lot of people on the road these days.
In my job, we refer to these as an 'RTFM'. Which stands for 'Read the Manual...'
Might want to give them the benefit of doubt before judging. Reason being is that my old car would rarely at random change the temp from 72F (what I normally kept it on) to 90F on it's own. While it still wouldn't exactly excuse them for not checking the temp gauge, it might not completely be their fault.
At least it's buttons and knobs, not a stupid touch screen..
@@Jaslath I would be inclined to agree with you of customers did not make the same mistakes over and over again and claim stupidity.
Always remember to turn your temperature dial to the “Hi Mark”

The missing springs is one of those things that's so blatantly obvious that it's pretty easy to miss.
I drive 100,000+ miles annually in my truck. After subscribing to this channel, I never look at cars with any type of modifications the same as I did before. “How many zip ties?”…”Did he do his brakes himself?”…”Probably fastened those ground effect lights to his car with a stapler…”…
One zip tie. Coolant hose.
Don't be rude! I pop-riveted my ground effects on like a trained professional! 😆
I need to get me some of those air and fuel optimizers 🤣 Great video as always.

"Magnetizer® is more efficient than any competing magnetic product due to its patented “monopolar” technology."
Astounding that this scam company can produce monopoles in such volume when physics has yet to find evidence of any, anywhere.

I'm most curious as to what would cause an engine to sound like a video game? I've never heard anything even close to that in any of my cars.
Self destruction. Bent valves and what not.
Sounds like a typical GM product to me 🤣🤣🤣
Quality chrysler product OEM sounds
The Chevrolet Cruze was a terribly designed model. Especially the 2011. It was bound to happen.
Looks like a Chevy Cruze. It has a turbo under and part of the exhaust manifold. If that's where the noise is coming from, it's fixable. Otherwise, yeah, it's going to take a new engine. These little engines don't take kindly to failure to maintain. Nor can you run dino oil in them. Has to be synthetic.
The poor Video Game engine had me rolling!!
How do you forget $57 in steaks? I'd notice if an onion rolled under the seats!
The better question is in what world do you think the solution to a car that smells like rotten meat is to take it to the mechanic......
Thought you were joking, but no, it's actually $57
I cringed in wasted food, like holy rip mate.
@@maxpowerta3183 Maybe they looked but not hard enough; just did that looking for something in my house, and it was hidden by something I hadn't through to move on my first look.
@@markh.6687 well sure that has happened to everyone, but that was not my point at all. My point is if your car smells like rotten meat that is not a mechanical issue and therefore not a job for a mechanic! Take it to a detailer.....
I'd be curious to see the Prius owner's explanation of how zip tying a bunch of plastic boxes to the outside of his engine is supposed to help fuel economy. Some people.
Its the magnets man... they realign the molecules..!!
At most you drive more efficiently trying to get the best you can out the 'product' you bought
Im actually curious if he did that for jokes or for real
I am a cop, and watching these videos, I wonder how many "car all over the road" calls we get are caused by these repairs 🙄
Foehammer01, as a retired mechanic I can tell you that it happens more than you realize.
I wouldn't even try to guess at how many wrecks are caused by defective equipment. Since most of the time the insurance pays off and it never goes to court, there's no reason to do a forensic analysis of the vehicles.
if you would be retired cop i would say -now you ask? :D
I really felt that last clip
Same haha. That's why I shared it
Amazing the number of cars with leaves clogging up cowl vents
Im very picky about that, im always popping the hood JUST to remove leaves from it.

Just remember that the people who are too dumb to figure out how to turn on the heat on the car, remove the wiper guards on brand new wipers, or leave the oil bottle in the engine are the same people right next to you driving 70 mph on the highway.

The castle nut and the the Nike slides was freaking great lol. Then slides worked for a Field fix tho 😜
Fun fact: If you look it up, supposedly only 12% of accidents have a mechanical cause. But the way I look at it, the geniuses who are messing up their DIY repairs probably are the same geniuses who don’t slow down in fog or rain or snow, who tailgate at 65mph and who never signal.
An "accident" has no contributing human factors. Everything shown on this channel, and most "crashes" have a contributing human factor. Not that many "act of god" "accidents" ever occur.
@@onedayiwillmakesomecontent The commonly accepted definition of an accident allows for human factors as a contributing cause. I agree that isn’t the “perfect” definition but it’s what most people accept. Words are like that.
I can relate to that last one.
My current car has an under tray and I once dropped a small plastic cover down there. No big deal as it wasn’t much of an issue to not have it in place as it was a cosmetic piece but I figured I’d best dig it out but couldn’t locate it. However I still aimed a few choice profanities at whoever designed this annoyance on wheels.
A year later I went to a colleague’s garage to use their hoist to do an oil change and, when we took the tray off to get to the idiotically located filter (Thanks, Vauxhall / GM!) the plastic cover fell out and I remarked: “Oh, there it is!”
I’d assumed it’d fallen out ages / miles ago!
