I came to the island back in 2009 with Red Cross for the tsunami, beautiful island, beautiful water but the people were so many more times beautiful. The whole time I was there I was trying to figure out a way to stay instead of having to fly back to Southern California. Alofa 🙋♂️🖖👏😷🇳🇴🇬🇧=🇺🇸⛵️
God bless you❤️🙏
I lived there for 18 months from 2006 to 2007. I totally miss it
Oh, I bought a junk pick up truck and I named it Pisupo
Perfect name for an island junker!
We’re you on a Mission for the LDS church?
@@rebekahbridges-tervydis5054 Im guessing he wasn’t since he bought a pick up truck, missionaries are normally given a vehicle by the church
your kids take every opportunity to photobomb the scene.. I enjoy your family and I am sure this experience has brought your family together... I love the Samoan family unity and you seem to have embraced it! many blessings to you and your family.

We lived in American Samoa 1978 thru 1980. I was a teacher at Leone high and my wife worked at the hospital as a dental technician. I’m amazed at how little it has seemed to change.
Wow! That’s cool to hear. And yet, I still wish I could go back and take a look around 😊
Thanks for the info and for sharing looking forward to visit American Samoa next year beautiful island.
Awesome! I hope you find you love it as much as we have.
I was fortunate to visit American Samoa October of 2018. It took me a day of walking around Pago Pago to figure out how the buses worked!
I loved the buses! However my reason for the visit was to visit the national park. I ended up hiring and Ex Pat to drive me over to the other side of the island and show me around. I then flew to Samoa to catch a flight to New Zealand. I wish I had seen your videos or similar video to have helped do more planning of my visit!
This is my 1st if many comments on your 🇦🇸Am Sam Fam channel. Keep up the awesome work posting on to CZcams! 🤩 I’m glad to see that you’re enjoying your adventures on island 🌴 as an aiga!

Wow what a beautiful place to bike! I just stumbled across our channel, and it's fantastic! Traveling to places like this is one of the primary drivers behind my goal to become financially independent, and it's always interesting to see how your money can get you. Great content, subscribed!
Thanks for subscribing! This really is a beautiful place to bike, or walk or run. You just have to be aware of the dogs, but with most of them, their barks are worse than their bite. And we get you girl! One of our biggest goals in life is to become location independent. We love our island home, but we’d love to have the financial freedom to come and go as we please. Good luck with your goals and hopefully we’ll see you around American Samoa one of these days. 🤙
Thanks for the information!
Beautiful islands!

My husband loved the aiga buses. He would sit in the back and enjoy the island musika. Took him to Am. Samoa for the first time in 2007. I myself enjoyed the island I grew up in. Took me 22 years to go back and sure alot of changes. Beautiful video, looks like your children enjoy the island. Thanks for sharing.... loved it!!

Very informative and straight to the point. That will give us an idea when we come to visit. Fa'afetai lava mole video, manuia oulua male fanau...GB!
SPEAKING ABOUT YOU GUYS WE 100 % RIGHT ON .
Talofa from Washington DC! I stumbled upon this channel today, and I’m soo glad I did! I grew up in Am Samoa for 23 years of my life, left in 2013 and haven’t been back since. Thank you soo much for this wonderful channel!
Sounds like it’s about time to come back for a visit. In the meantime, enjoy those world-class restaurants in DC for us. We miss that town.
AmSamFam We’re actually coming next year! You know, I never appreciated the beauty of Am Samoa until I left, so thank you again for showing the world our beautiful island.
Thank you guys for sharing 😊, I really appreciate what you're doing ☺️... missing Am. Samoa😎🤗

Totally agree. Very helpful channel.

Thank you! We feel the love ❤️
Awwww that first village with the Big Yellow Church is where I am from...love it!
exciting and spontaneous.
AmSaFa great video guys, missed your beautiful family they’ve got big and tall and that salt saltwater sun bleach hair!! You guys are the best!! Still putting up with limited resources! You guys are living the real Samoan life style, and it looks like you are having fun with it ...thanks for the great video! Keep it coming please. Fa soifua.
Oh yeah, it’s all part of the experience. We came here looking for a change from the status quo of Mainland US and we got exactly what we asked for 😄 Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Excellent video with lots of information. My daughter just started a job there and is looking for a car. Had a lot of problems finding one or a shipping co with reasonable rates. Thank you for the info. I am sending her this link now ....
Wow this was a well detailed, highly informative, never done before awesome video! Thanks so much for sharing!!! #AMSAMFAM #AMERICANSAMOA
Pumping music is right 2:05 they love to blast the music through those small speakers LOL!
It’s all part of the experience! I was on an aiga bus once that had no music playing for some reason, and it definitely felt like something critical was missing. Without the music you’re really just taking a ride on a cramped bus with hard seats (and possibly with a stranger riding on your lap), right? 😂🤣
Good stuff guys.im glad you're enjoying Am Samoa. Its a beautiful place but sorry about your scooter. for the most part there are a lot of good people in the island. God bless you guys and thank you for the video..
We agree 💯 Which was why it was so surprising to have it stolen. We love American Samoa and the people here ❤️ No hard feelings.
I recognize most of the places in your videos :) I hope to go there again soon
You guys are the best
Malo lava to you and your aiga well done
Thanks so much!
Thank you.
Awesome videos
Yes, definitely need a car to go from here to there.
It's amazing place quite clean and very greeny tht good
I lived there almost 7 yrs ....2002 until lst mnt of 2009...tnx s lahat ng memories american samoa
What brought you to AS back then?
Nothing is better than footmobile . 👌👌
I wish I want to go back from American Samoa so bad!!
You said 'Lua Sefulu' like a boss!
😊😊😊
You can get around the island too by having friends for example, samoan style carpool, one friend has a car another friend has gas money another friend is buying the food and the one extra friend that doesn't contribute but take that person anyways because they are funny LOL! It takes a village of friends to create transportation lol!
No matter where you grew up, if this wasn’t your life for at least a little while when you were a poor teenager, then you missed out on some good memories.
OMG really what happened to people like this 😭😭😭
I like watching you guys show. Make more videos. 😊😊😊🖒🖒👏👏💗
Happy New Year
I'm from AUA in American Samoa 🥰🤗😍😘 I love my Island of Samoa❤️🥰🤗😍😘
Great info o transportation. Have you done a video on hotels and places to stay?
Not yet, but that’s a great suggestion! Thanks 🤙
one infomation that missing on a truck American dose not allowed to sit in back ioff truck but here in American Samoa you can sit backat truck whatever you want to but you vlog is good tho i love it
Thank you for your videos. They make me miss home more and more. I’m from the village of Iliili, and I would love to see my village featured in one of your videos.
Iliili is beautiful. What specifically would you like to see in that video?
@@AmSamFam my home is not in the main village. It’s the iliili after the village of futiga, across from the Catholic Church. It’d be nice just to see it and the main village. Thank you for your question and good luck with your future videos.
@@johntafao7793 gotcha. We’ll make sure to include it in an upcoming video ❤️
Hi guys,
Great video; very informative. Shame on the person (s) that stole your scooter. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I pray that God will expose them. Nonsense!!!
Stay safe/blessed 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
sorry but you guys forgot to say lua sefulu faamolemole(please) i love your videos
i love listening to DJ Noiz fiavatu blessed sunday and weekend Amsam family alofa aku
We love watching your videos we needed because lots of Samoan people are all over around the world. And we missed back home so much. Most of us left the islands for decades. And lots of the new generations were born outside of the island and haven’t been in Samoa before. Great job guys. Love your beautiful family. 🌺🌸🌻🌈 💝💗 ❤️ 💕
Y’all should go to Tula and check Cape Matatula where noaa station is at.
Great idea! Thanks.
This is a "No-Shitter" @4:25 mark yall were right in front of my best friend's house. Where you're at is small housing structure for the church's lali. I was in elementary at the time, and it was a hot Saturday afternoon. I was just hanging out with my friends there when this small aiga bus came into the 'ville. We all thought that it was weird, because buses really don't come into the A'ai. When it got in front of, I recognized my grandmother and her gal pals. They were just laughing as they went by. The bus made a right turn and headed towards where the old Catholic church used to be. (not there anymore ) Same road the Mormon church still uses. Not long after that , the same bus comes out flying like a bat out of hell. He got on the paved road and floored it back to the main road. We started stoning it and chased him all the way to the Maluia's family guest house across from the Methodist church . The speed bumps helped us out. We caught up to him and asked if he knew what the speed limit was. He apologized and said he was scared for his life. The old ladies that he just dropped off held a gun to the back of his neck and threatened to shoot him if he didn't take them into the village. They freaking bus-Jacked this dude. We all knew he was telling the truth because, we ALL saw who were in that bus. Unbelievable ...the Aumaga had to pay for the damages . Them old goats got off scot-tfree. We later found out , that it was my grandmothers black dye stick for her hair that they used. Long story short , 5 is 5....not 6. Thanks for the video , Im just homesick that's all . Ia faafetai lava, soifua.
Man, that was a nail biter! Great story. Thanks for the comment!
@@AmSamFam Nu'uuli kids get a bad rap for being Nu'uuli kids. But to our defense, it's not us....it's our Mamas. LoL.🤣😂🤣
Yes shame on that person who stole your scooter. Thank you for info very beautiful family.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching!
I wanted to come and check out the island but Hawaiian Airlines kept changing the flight. Now I feel I would like to try again. In Hawaii, Samoan have a rep of being big and mean, but they all seem nice to me.
Maybe wait till 2021. Word around here is that flights will be cancelled till then.
Beautiful n is great to raise kids there ❤I love y'all store
Thank you so much for this video. I have been considering relocating to Am. Samoa for some time now. I was born there but not raised so I have no idea what to expect besides planting your own plantation and raise your own farm. I was wondering about all these the cost of living, cost of new vehicle, shipping, transportation, cost of building a home there etc., I hope you include the cost of building a brand new home there. Thank you again and appreciate the videos AmSamFam.
Are scooter rentals common? Fun videos - thanks!
It's very nice island
thanks for sharing the information. My wife and I are planning to move there sometime in the future. I am a photographer but, it has crashed for me since the covid and I am currently working a regular job so we can still save to ship our vehicle there. Have you guys found any good tips for getting a house there? we have one in my wife's village but, I was thinking we should live off the village. Bummer on that scooter bro, I was thinking about getting one for myself as well. I guess the best thing to do with scooters is paint the crap out of it and add lots of designs to distinguish it from others. good luck with everything fam, I subscribed to your channel. I have not been able to make vlogs in the last month nor will I have plans for the future, or at least not until i get to Samoa lol
We’re getting ready to film a cost of living -housing edition video where we’ll cover most of that. I still think that a scooter is a great way to go here. And, again, vehicle theft is virtually unheard of here. Our situation was very abnormal. Give it a shot if you can!
@@AmSamFam yes, we must definitely will. We're saving to be able to get everything we need. I spent a month and a half there last year and ugh....I did not want to leave.
Good information 👍 👌 so true. Unfortunately for my mom she got bad deal over priced on her car 2007 cruiser. So watch out for those crooks dealer.
I paid a quarter to ride the aiga buses in 1968!
Since you mention your Scooter got stolen, that's sad. You should've made a police report and follow up. But yes your next transportation should be a pick up truck. Thanks for sharing. Malo Lava. Fa'afetai.
I live in Florida where there is always a threat of hurricanes from like May to November.American Samoa being south of the equator I've I've alway's wondered if the threat of hurricane, typhoons etc... are just as bad as it is north of the equator.
Great question. It does seem like we hear about more occurring and greater damage in the Caribbean, although we definitely still get them in the South Pacific. A few years ago, Tonga was hit really hard.
The place I'd be moving to is Vailoatai, which until recently, I didn't realize was so far from Pago Pago. I think I could make it work with an electric bike, maybe.
I think yu should go discover the beauty of the East side💯🌺 especially My village Auasi and my Aunuu Island
Keep an eye out for some of our upcoming videos. We’ve spent quite a lot of time over on the east side of Tutuila recently.
Nice 👍
Thanks!
The kids are lovely
Thank you ❤️
