The generosity of the modders is really admirable. Thank you all for letting games get the extra mile!
ArunaskaPlays yep, I was thinking that while trying Virginia International Raceway yesterday..... the amount of work and dedication to details is pretty incredible.....like what's the first step, where's the base data from, etc.
Virginia International Raceway. Absolute must-have, especially fun with road cars to me.
Gamer Muscle has to be one of the greatest sim racing channels on CZcams! Such a great presenter, always top quality videos and never fails to say something hilarious inbetween! Loving the content!
Cannot argue with that ;) Mind you I think the other channels do a better job on the actual driving lol.
When you said that Donington Park used to be where you lived I just imagined you sleeping rough next to the track while the entire BTCC field blasts past.
Suzuka, Virginia International Raceway, Sebring, Riverside, Indianapolis, COTA, Circuit de la Sarthe, and Laguna Seca are all pretty good.
Bathurst is my favorite mod track for AC
do you have any proper link? thanks!
@@DEracingx Check racedepartment for ACU Bathurst, to lazy to look for link
@@jazz21977 I love it, really good version of it, it cannot be just hand made it's too detailed.
I live in Tasmania (Aust) , home of Longford. It’s remarkable how they’ve nailed the “feel” of the town & the surrounding area of the track. All the period correct cars & spectators adds greatly to the immersion factor. Congrats to the modder for a job well done! 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video and hilarious commentary! Great job mixing an indepth review with a bit of comedy here and there. I think you've nailed it on the head with your discourse on how a subtlety like well done grass pulls your brain into the sim.
"Poverty Zandvoort" haha love it
Again an amazing video. I think the sim community should crowd fund to send you to all the tracks in AC and have you actually drive a real race car on each track and get all of your first person comments. That would be cool. Kind of like a pilgrimige
"It makes you feel like you're on real bit of tarmac that's had vehicles and the occasional drivers face being pummelled into it"
OOF that got dark quick!
Thank you for the list, really like your channel content.
A track I'm really enjoying to drive is the Algarve international circuit which is actually a few km of my house, I've sure you'll like to.
Just start playing assetto corsa for a few day's and I'm loving it.
Keep racing 🤘
Thanks :) , Algarve track is awsome so crazy and hilly , its in Pcars 2 and R3E not tried it in AC will have to have a look ! I cannot wait to visit Portugal at some point I really want to canoe the sea in the south :)
it's really cool seeing you talk about Barbagallo, it's down the road from my house and where i do Karting. So cool
Thanks GM, I have all but two of these. You da man. Now a Top 6 car mods vid. :)
Some of the lesser known club tracks that are very well made and good fun with smaller cars like the Lotus 2-Eleven or KTM;
- LuccaRing's a real road fictional track that has great scenery and immersion.
- Tocancipa and Tor Poznan - both flat but they have a real track day feel.
- Okayama - Yes it's the legendarily slow TI Aida from the Pacific Gp but it's very impressive technically.
Tor Poznań, top notch official content quality, great layout and flow. Will check out Longford, that's the only one I don't have in your list!
Yes Tor Poznan is one of my Favorites. Extremely fun in any car
Great stuff. Bathurst in NSW Australia is also fantastic. Go through the mountain section at sunset, with crepuscular rays glinting through the trees thanks to Sol, and it's just fantastic. I've driven round it in real life, in a Ford Explorer, being careful not to break the public road speed limits although I did get the tyres to squeal once or twice.
My favorite mod track for asetto corsa is bathurst. also from the land down under :) many corners, angry walls and uphill/downhill section. must recommend for people who likes tracks like Nordschleife and such demanding tracks.
Ayyyeee barbagallo is a half hour drive away from me, so cool to see a small little track that i thought went unkown on your list!
Love your vids mate.. I used to work at Barbagallo for 5 years doing the groundskeeping/maintenance and get free track time racing/drifting my old 13bt extend port fc rx7.. ah the good ol days :)
I love Road America. I got to drive it this year on a liter bike. It's crazy fast and so fun. Going back next year for sure. Glad to see it on this list.
Good video. The Donington track in GTR2 was pretty good though - we had access to a very good 3D CAD model provided by the circuit owners as part of the license. Not quite a laser scan, but close - they claimed something like 5mm accuracy.
Andy Garton I agree, it's the only donington where the last corner bump feels great
Langford is my favourite all time track. Play it in the Race Series and it’s fn awesome 👌👌👌
I would also suggest checking tracks like Spa '66 and Monaco '66 by AC Track Reboot for other high quality track mods of the old era.
Bathurst AC mod is awesome, also, Riverside!
Longford is also Australia this time Tasmania. Held a number of Australian Grand Prix back in the day. The Boags beer sign outside the pub is a nice touch
I live near Longford and the mountains on this mod look really accurate!! A fair bit of it is still recognisable but its definitely a bit different now!
great list, just downloaded all 6
I've downloaded the le manns with no chcaine and i drive 2014 audi r18 e- tron Quattro which has a tesla roadster engine and is tuned with s top speed of 806 kmph . I did a 2.26 minutes with keyboard. It's fun to drive against porsche 919 which goes over 660 kmph.
The new Ahvenisto on RaceDepartment became one of my top favorites besides a lot of what's already mentioned here in the comments
also the new hope racetrack looks so dope and its a dream track 👌
Yes, TOCA Touring shout out! Loved that game and this track in it.
I really enjoy Circuit of the Americas as a mod track, definitely a ton of fun
As you say around 3:00, some mods are superior to the factory tracks....... I'm pretty much new at this, but I came across Virginia International Raceway....... just awesome, and generous. Part of my career was drafting and design with AutoCAD in civil engineering/land surveying, and 3D Studio for visualization for aviation electronics. I'm really curious about how the track-making process starts....... there's no question it's a major undertaking way beyond converting terrain data and sticking textures on it :)
Good channel, man. Thanks for the excellence.
Awesome video! Can you one with the best vehicle mods? Thanks!
Worth mentioning that the track shown at the very start and the very end of the video is the amazing scratch built historical recreation of Riverside by LilSki. IMHO surely belongs in this list over some of the R-Factor conversions like Road America. This is up there with Donnington and Paul Ricard in terms of its quality and is incredibly fun to drive.
THE BALANCE WILL BE RESTORED ! You are indeed correct , I'll be sure to address this in a future video I had a random technical issue which is why the awsome Riverside is shown at start and end but not put in the top 6.
lol. Already Subscribed several Liked videos ago. I must say I like your banter - your obsession with grass notwithstanding. (I like it too but it doesn't seem to do anything for me anymore. :-( )
I chuckled when you said sorry to another car at Road America and said something about missing or needing some tea. The way you slowed down your chatting, but not your driving, you reminded me of Martin Brundle. (Maybe do a mock grid walk video and beg for interviews like he does lol.)
Your dig at Australia made me laugh but nothing about Canada eh!
Now to see if you've made a video about must have AC apps/utilities...
I love the flow in Donnington... LA Canyons, Lake Louise, Deutchlandring, Feldbergring, Fonteny, Thomson Road Grand Prix anything SIMTRAXX Are all worth checking out... All available on RaceDepartment
One of my all time favorites is Hockenheim... but the OLD one... before they destroyed it turning it into a kart track.... also a very good download mod for AC.... and Bathurst, Spa '92 ofc...
I would like to see you do a current "favorite tracks/cars mods" video!
Living near Longford, I can tell you that it really hasn't changed all that much haha! Still very much a rural place with older fencing, power lines etc etc.
Tor Poznan is a heck of a mod track too.
Thanks. Very good job.
I came for the tracks
I got tracks and laugh, love the jokes in the video man
I recommend adding Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport if you make another one of these videos, which I think you should do because the comments are full of suggestions. The fan made version of Mosport in AC is modeled after when the circuit had grass runoffs rather than the concrete that is there now.
VIR is a good one. I wish Summit Point was available so I could practice for my local track.
lonford track was in Tasmania, Australia ( still there, just not a circuit anymore)
they hold a Longford Revival there where they close the roads and recreate the racing
i live in Tassie and yet to got to one yet lol
Great list. But would replace Paul Ricard (boring track) and Road America (just never liked this track) with two favorites Lake Louise (like really, how did you forget this one) and Circuit Mas Du Clos (another amazing track no longer in existence)
All amazing tracks, to be sure. Well worth having a go, especially with the Grand Prix Legends mods. I'm pretty sure there's a Donington 1937 circuit somewhere for Assetto Corsa. Having said all that, it's just a crying shame that the console version of AC was a massive cop-out, with only a few circuits worth driving and only a maximum 16 car grid for each race. If I get round to getting a machine worthy of the PC game, I just might give it a whirl.
The first track looks great.
The Macau gp track looks awesome in Assetto.
I was hoping that slightly mad studios were going to stick the Macau gp in project cars 2.
I love watching the gt3 onboard footage at Macau. With the tightness of the track and barriers so close to the drivers it makes it look like theyre travelling at warp speed.
Has anyone done a Highlands 101 mod ? That looks like a great track to race on. Seen some awesome onboard footage of Shane van Gisbergen driving the McLaren 650s gt3 on that track.
I really like these videos.
Thats rather good !
except for the typo in the headline
Totally agree
The tajo is a really amazing road course.
i love Bridgehampton awesome
You should check out Tor Poznań if you haven't. Great, laser-scanned track - available free on RaceDepartment.
Have you tried Road Atlanta? It’s pretty good. Sebring is decent but don’t hit the wall on the main straight.
Paul Ricard's looked so damn good I actually donated
The VRC version of Barber Motorsports Park is really good. I don't know why it's called Alabama Racing Course though.
Welcome to the sim gardening channel, haha only joking thanks for the vid.
"Coming up next on BBC Two, it's Gardening Time with Gamer Muscle, who looks at a formal rhododendron display opposite the apex to Redgate corner at Donington Park, and how discreet clipping can keep it growing all year round and take off a tenth off your hot lap."
The first track looks pretty much perfect for drifting
Welcome back you lackey @GamerMuscleVideo :)
I marshalled at Donington Park many years ago, there I was in my Hi-Vis vest.....oh did I mention I directed motorbikes/cars into appropriate places (okay parking attendant but I was there officially as Marshall), yet due to being not needed after my initial duties I got to, because of my vest and id, to go infield and I walked into pits , into a garage while the action was going on, no one batted an eye lid, and I got payed for a great whole day of 1-2 hours work .
Poznań
Goodwood
De La Sarthe
Laguna Seca (still needs some work, but it's epic track anyway)
Top Gear Test Track
Cant believe you didnt say Riverside, so authentic and historical
Try Riverside Raceway and Ontario Motor Speedway
Love Donny. My local 😊
Donington exceeds the default games level of detail by miles, if you stay out long enough eurofighters fly past the track in formation and airliners too.
Great video. Thanks. A quick question. How does the AI generally cope with mod tracks? Do they behave as well as with the dev's tracks?
Depends on the track like Toni said also car and then other settings.
Mosport 2012 the AI isn't that great they slow down really early into turn 5.
VIR and Thompson in Singapore.
akina downhill is my fav track
Wait holy fuck I never realised I have you on my steam friends list and I just randomly found you on yt lol.
i would love to see le mans in ac. its weird to have lmp1s but not the famous le mans track :c
Downloading em now. In regards to maxing the GFX for VR, are you happy with the 1070? I'm using a 970 and getting a solid 90fps but with quite reduced graphics
As long as you don't stream and don't use PP 1070 is really good. I mean can still use PP but I'd rather up AA and SS than use PP in VR.
LilSki's other awesome tracks
Riverside International Raceway - www.racedepartment.com/downloads/riverside-international-raceway.9492/
New Jersey Motorsports Park: Lightning - www.racedepartment.com/downloads/new-jersey-motorsports-park-lightning.14212/
Are you from Castle Donnington? I lived there and in Melbourne in the late 90's early 2000's
Needs more tea 😂 .....
While I agree with every track on this list, the Bridgehampton mod is absolutely God tier.
Any Idea to get Mid-Ohio circuit ? I had it, but then it was non available through an update of the game, and i'd like to find it back !
Any good point to point tracks out there?
Where can I download Birminghan (a classic fantasy circuit for rFactor/GTR2) for Assetto Corsa? A lot of videos of this track with AC but no sites for download on anywhere in Internet. :/
Bathurst is a insane mod aswell
I'm still waiting for one of these great track makers to make Bremgarten.
Try Oulton Park!!!
what is the name of the track that appears at 0:00? thank you
akina downhill is great
Great list but my favortie track isn't there...😂😂 It's Grobnik in Croatia
i didnt even notice any planes in f1 2019...will recheck..paul ricard btw
Grobnik Autodrom Croatia is fantastic.
Where can I donlowd the maps in the site from the link for map
GamerMuscle you've got me hooked on English breakfast twinings lol
Nice job , its quite expensive at 8-12p a teabag but worth it in my opinoin. sometimes if you look around you can get one of those huge builder bags but I have not seen one of them for years.
GamerMuscleVideos lol i no my misses wasn't happy msg me saying are you joking lol
Moaning about spending my money 🤔haha, yh i always wanted to try them but didn't know wich ones because theres loads of flavours so niceone for that. 👍👍
Yah the other ones I feel are overrated I mean i'm sure they are not "bad" but you can get some awesome taster collections on amazon.
GamerMuscleVideos yhyh 👍 i always like the local shoplifter very good prices just watch he ain't eyeing up the sim gear though lol
Im joking. Yh sound I'll have a look
Can i download these mods if i use assetto through steam?
"Bathurst" is also a very good track.
It feels too narrow for me compare with the track in other sims.
Yes. I always install it in every game possible :-)
I can't get the AI to work with Road America. Does anyone know how to fix it?
AC's few main tracks are boring AF indeed. I respect this list, I love tracks with good surroundings.
Do you have any mods to make AC look better in general? Or do you keep it completely stock?
Mostly stock , have used sky box mod and the natural lighting mod at times.
what about the new Le Mans 2017 track ?
AC will outlive pcars 2 and forza 7 due to mod capabilities. A great idea
Ive seen a version of targa florio somewhere, but the link was down
It's still private beta at v0.8 I believe. There is a leaked v0.5 out there, but I'm patiently waiting for v1.0 to arrive .... Well, maybe not that patient...
racedepartment doesn't seem to be working for me. Is there a reason why? Says the site can't be reached.
Has anyone made a mod track of Goodwood? Seeing Longford on the list has really made me want to go and experience the Goodwood Revival in VR!
There is one being made with Lidar data currently. Don't really know at what state it is in but I do know there was an active project for it.
BarbaGallo, with a hard G. I live right next to it :-)
