As I drive longer F1 racers I only need decent blue flag ai for the backmarkers and somewhat improved ai. AI is actually much better than you think when everything has been set correctly. Just backmarkers suck. Also more options to the championship mode. Stats and all that. That's all I need. The driving physics and FFB of AC1 are still the best.

I do agree that Kunos's worst enemy is AC1 modded. What ACE could bring to the table: Rumors point to a completely overhauled physics engine (better than AC1 or ACC). Bundle that with a modernized, robust updated graphics engine with all the bells and whistles that are cleanly integrated (so it all just works out of the box.. no muss, no fuss.. no faffing about). Improved AI, better rain (visuals and physics), an amazing single player experience among other things could lay the foundation to something that can be truly appreciated and built upon for years to come ( AC1 part deux). I will give them the benefit of the doubt here. I just hope that it doesn't launch in as bad shape as ACC apparently did (I was late to the ACC party, but I hear it was rough around the edges in the early going). I want Kunos to take their time and deliver something spectacular. Even if this means slipping into 2025... better to be later but polished and have the player base enjoy it out the gate. Time will tell.

Well don’t you think that Kunos allow modding. So why not have another sim that people can start modding again why worry about AC and mods. We will have ACE and new mods. You know progress. Btw. I am confused by your take on ACC never had any graphics issue and as far as GT3 GT2 GT4 racing can’t see anything that comes close. Oh iracing with solid rubber tyres and Nintendo graphics.

You're right GM, look at Kerbal Space Program how the first game was a success and the 2nd failed before it even got to take off.

The one thing you're missing is that they have had an equal amount of time to work on the game, if I'm remembering right I remember someone from Kunos admitting they started working on Evo a long time ago

I bought AC and all the addons (and love it to death). I bought ACC but I don't play it. If ACE isn't compatible with AC cars and tracks (either directly or via an official AC2ACE car and track converter), I will not even buy it.

Easy. They should look to iRacing and LMU to figure out how brakes should work. That would be an excellent start.

If it has next gen VR graphics and I mean a big improvement over AMS2 combined with AC physics, then I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to get all the mods from the first one.

One thing for certain IMO. they have to put 110% on the AI this time. iRacing managed to nail it on their first try, it still has issues, but it's the best AI out there by a long shot, and that's a sim that doesn't even need AI.

this "myth" was probably derived form the drift community recommending the mods because you really cant drift much more than a handful of kunos. and of course the custom mods look so good. I am a drifter and these days most original AC users are drifting or running Shuto.

They only answer is their new product would have to include all of this in the base game or they have already objectively failed to create a better game.

I've heard on the internets, the CSP/ PURE guys are working with Kunos, that's why ACE will have a custom graphics engine, which is basically CSP/Pure. I also understand that the physicas will be based on AC1, maybe more refined hz wise that kind of thing. If they do these 2 things, in theory backwards compatibility for 80% of well made mods may not be a problem. There may be some glitches. I am sure they'll have a ranked system just like Iracing, the question will be is it paid? That will be the question and if so how much. Fact is having stewards isn't free.

They need to make it more "consolised", as in more user-friendly and 'pristine', make it something to rival Forza and Gran Turismo but with all the good stuff of the physics and mod support... then it can be just as good as AC1, but more playable and mass-appealing. Put a proper career mode, nice photo mode, a variety of menu music...

I think I read that LFM were being brought in to help with online. It may have been a wet dream, but I have a vague memory of it.

Most of Kunos cars in AC is the best variation in any sim. And the laserscanned tracks is top notch too. Hard to find tracks made so well as the vanilla content of OG AC.

they need to pull a CS2 and just revamp the infrastructure and keep constant support going. the community will do its thing

They need to make it a very moid friendly game. iRacing is hot. LMU is becoming Hot. im not sure there is space for another sim thats only goal is competitive play. AC needs to make basically a car playground with great physics and an open engine.

Mod support is not what is needed. Money is needed. I can remember Unreal Tournament has so many mods. Now what ? nobodies care about it. Look at Fortnite, this is the new unreal. I expect something similar with a upcoming games. Modders could use a inhouse market place to sell their mods, get money and so would be a win win

There’s no reason to expect Kunos won’t deliver, guys. In my book, they’re batting 2/2. ACC is a dominant title and, as you point out, Kunos has been in touch with the major modders. I suspect it won’t be perfect on release, it may have a few bumpy updates along the way, (hopefully not as bumpy as ACC) but in the end, I expect this will result in a solid trilogy. And if we’re doing movie analogies, say like the ORIGINAL Star Wars… 😎

AC is my favorite sim. I wonder if Kunos will take advantage of new computer hardware (A lot has changed in this respect in 10 years), use multiple CPU cores and threads, use DX-11 or 12 even in VR in their new game engine. This could be VERY interesting to see just how good they can make it, but like you said, they have a tall order to beat or even come close to what AC has become! :) I race in VR only, so for me, high res VR is VERY important, this is why a detest ACC, it's a total pig in VR. C'mon Kunos...... make us proud! LOL

Simple: Make a Assetto corsa but with better graphics and more support for further modding. Its not rocket science. Copy the dayz model .

Evo could be the modded AC for console players. Btw ACC is the best sim for console players by a mile.

I hope they are focusing on the engine: good ai, sound physics. With anything else open to be bolted on later by them or others.

If there is any hope to top the original AC IMO it would be with better physics and FFB detail, but also basic gameplay like the missing rules implementation, ease of server setup for anyone, nice and stable lobby for that, then sound and graphics engine improvements (of course) but content wise, it would be then best to leave some doors open to have modding magic keep happening again for next 10 years or so...

I think any studio including Kunos needs to be able to make a certain amount of money off of a title to make it feasible to invest in making the game to begin with. Kunos will need to market the game initially and probably keep the community modding aspect locked for a set time frame and during that time Kunos themselves will release added paid dlc content such as cars, tracks and so forth. I think you will see online racing but like ACC it will be handled and set up by 3rd party vendors just like with ACC. Kunos is a game studio and has no interest it seems in running online racing leagues or series themselves but the online racing in ACC seemed to do pretty good. If Kunos can build a good base game with good physics and a game engine that is easy for the community to eventually mod for and also to optimize such where it is easy to run VR (unlike ACC) there is absolutely no reason this ACE cannot reach the same almost cult status of AC1 in time. Just think of the game and how far its limits can be in the future when you are as a starting base using the graphical quality and modern physic calculations that have been learned from the past years of investing in ACC. I look forward to it myself.

I wouldn't be surprised if AC evo doesn't look to different from a fully modded out ac1, but with all of it built in. Both allowing console players full access, and makes it less tech intensive to get to the level of where ac 1 is now. Add in cross play and it could compete against gt7 etc while advertising a more "true" sim experience I just hope they allow backwards compatibility and add mid game saving offline like ACC has.
