  • The clarity of the quest 3 lenses and how well AMS2 runs is an absolute game changer for PC VR I feel that the Quest 3 is the first VR headset where you get both good FOV with clarity that makes you focus purely on the game rather than technical limitations of the HMD. Only real issue is that you still have to have something on your head :(

AMS2 in VR Quest 3 is Super!!! we need your Quest3 and AMS2 settings!!!

  • @kwaski374

I agree- I was super impressed with the Quest 3 coming from the Valve Index. I did not expect such a difference. Last weekend I finally hit that euphoric moment of losing the external world and feeling like I was actually in the game sitting in the LMDH BMW racing AMS2-- (i have been using VR since DK1 and Live for Speed)

I've been racing with VR in AMS2 for years. Quest 3 is best at default resolution with SS in game to boost clarity. If you max out resolution in Oculus settings it looks like shit in comparison. Also make sure to open the AMS2 document folder and go to the Oculusvr settings and put the Sharpening at the bottom to 3.0. Use High MSAA, and adjust performance by using the FoV tangent in Debug tool. I run 90fps consistently in night or rain too using .4 vertical fov tangent. The vertical FoV is amazing in Quest 3 so you dont even notice it. Also all cam settings to 0 with legacy cam activated really gives you that real connection to the car. Also in the debug tool use low Distortion curve, 960 Encode bitrate, and Normal Link Sharpening. These settings are best for Quest 3.

You last few vids have super low audio Mr Muscle

  • @puremad1

Yes, liking the VR vids ! just confirms to me that, this is the route for me to go... immersion over glossy looks . I cant wait to go VR Q3 .... Great Video !!

  • @briwaxman

i got a quest 3 with a 4070 and this is the only game i play its amazing

  • @counterdebate

Told you.... AMS2 and VR is even better than AC, ACC, iracing, RF2, German wife, Tea and even Buffys sister ! 🤣

  • @coffeeguy6673

Hi James, I have to say, I agree with you 100% on this, I've got a Metaquest 3, play wirelessly using VD and AMS2 is one of the best games in VR in my opinion. MInd you, ACC has improved with the last few updates , the VR in that is amazing as well, seems to be very well optimized. I've just bought the Moza R5 bundle with brake pedal upgrade kit and clutch sat in a box in my room, cannot wait to get it setup and playing. Guess what I'll be doing the weekend....cheers, Daz, Leicester.

I’ve been racing AMS2 in vr for quite a while. Love the the just get in and race simplicity and beautiful graphics.

  • @Gareth.W

Really enjoyed that. Please do post more videos from inside the car. Can I also ask what your PC specs are, as presumably that matters too as well as having the Quest 3. Cheers.

  • @Gizfreek

VR is just so good for sim racing, it's cheaper than a proper 32:9 monitor or a triple screen setup, looking around freely is amazing and a big point for me personally, I don't have a dedicated sim racing setup so the ability to have it standing in the corner and just plug in the headset would be amazing.

  • @Tygrmoth

I’m not a sim racer at all, but man, I love your Quest 3 streams, and you’ve got yourself another subscriber 😂

  • @SimRacingJason

Great just as sold my Rift S and went ultra wide due to clarity issues with the Rift I now find you explaining just how good the clarity is with the Quest 3 and I find myself hovering over the links to buy a Quest 3 and dive straight back into VR no sooner than I stepped away for it !

  • @dathyr1

I also agree with you on the Quest 3. Going from my Oculus Rift S to this Quest 3 headset, the visual qualities are so much greater for me. Doing SIM racing is allot of fun now viewing the games through the Quest 3. I also have my Quest 3 connected via a link cable to the USB port on my PC. Works great.

  • @user-tg5su9bf2f

definitely reconsidering upgrading my VR headset over investing in 2 other monitors.

  • @niolund8673

Looking forward to see you streaming in VR 👍

  • @68sixgun

I went from the G2 to the quest pro and it blew me away, and on link it's so smooth in all conditions. This is the closest we can get to real racing in our homes and just think, 20 years ago we'd have had to re mortgage our house to do this. Oh, and welcome to the darkside GM. Have you used OTT? You can set different settings per game. Le Mans is the dogs b, best version I've ever seen.

  • @user-vq9gd2di9x

I'm loving all this VR content it's the only way I Sim race. I THINKING big screen Beyond

  • @pencilthinker

After watching a few of your recent VR drives and hearing such praise from a world renowned skeptic - on just about everything apart from AC - I just might buy one of these Q3s. Rather than a new high end wheel rim this looks like it provides far deeper senses of immersion.
