Just a little information about what we are doing with my FPC. One involves a barrel mounted bi-pod. And we discussed the bolt not holding open on the last round more to come on that tomorrow.
I know that, you know that but a lot of people (new shooters) don’t realize that. That is why I put it out, I had a couple issues asked about this topic.

Same here. I've put 2-3Krds ( 6 or 7 different brands and grains) through it. It's been reliable enough for me to keep it loaded with 124gr HST'S standing between my bed and nightstand as a first option for home defense.
NOT so much on the new FPC (Gray), the older one I have all I use is the buffer plug and that is it. On the newer FPC I used the FPC barrel nut adapter so I can place an AR hand guard on it. I had to modify the barrel nut heavily to use it. I can't see spending the money (not cheap) on the buffer system or butt-stock for me, I won't get any additional benefit out of them to make them worth while..
I’ve gotten them all besides the metal or carbon hand guards. Pretty happy with everything, although the charging handle causes some wear with metal on metal contact. Nothing crazy, but it’s shiny aluminum where the carrier rides. I used some graphite lube and that seemed to protect it a bit. I like the minimal stock, it really changes the feel of the gun. Can’t really comment on the buffer plug because I put it in before I ever even shot it. It works though lol. Also have their scope mount with a 1x prism optic mounted. Haven’t had a single issue with losing zero or anything coming loose. Much better than when I had it mounted on the hand guard. Although if it gets dropped and lands on the optic, there’s a good chance it’ll bend that mount. So that may be a concern for some people. I’ve been thinking about 3d printing a spacer to fill that gap and prevent bending in that scenario.
I wanted to ask you if you have changed anything on your response since the recall changes? I just had an opportunity to go shoot mine after I got it back and I hate it now.
No, I haven't been out with it much as I have been working on the FPC. Next week I am going to get back to it to see. I did receive a few parts from S&W and I will see if they make any difference at all.
Free floating handgaurds are trash... my opinion only.... the stock s&w fpc is fine... no barrel bending at all... has a piece that prevents that... so if you in the market to buy one. Look for one that has the piece at the end that stops barrel bending... haha barrel bends like rubber lol
Thank you for the information!
You’re welcome
Dumb question, isn’t the whole point of a free-floating barrel not to attach anything to it in the first place?

@@hollowpointdefense you’re so educational
That’s what I was exactly thinking who in the right mind would put a tripod attached to a floating barrel

Can you tell me what kind of foregrip you have on your new FPC, the gray on?

So, the mag release may be defective, causing the bolt to not hold back on the last round fired ? Or, is the mag release the fix to the problem?
Not sure, I am not finding it to be a problem or a fix... I will see tonight.
What state arr you out of?
Arizona.

It’s a plastic gun, flexing is to be expected. Not an issue for me.
