    Great tips! What size is your cavapoo and crate? I think our crate may be too small for our cavapoo…she’s 15lbs.

    thanks for sharing. Sophie is gorgeous and reminds me of my cavapoo. Exact same colouring, cream all over with red muzzle and ears. We're going through some issues with our 18 month old. But i've always had the suspicion if we used the crate every day, it would be so much easier. We've been using it on and off. The main issue we have is reactivity on walks, so im trying to find a dry food i can use when im outside. currently we use a raw food (different dog) which he does eat eventually, but it's a nightmare putting it in snuffle mats, & puzzles (so right now they're going to waste). 😅
    is the crate still working for Sophie?

    Thank you for this video! I have a 6mo cavalier and she is very picky as well. She’s had GI issues so a lot of time she is on a bland diet of Costco rotisserie chicken, rice and veggies. I am switching her back to puppy food but it is a long process 😂(she can eat Hills soy corn wheat free and Canidae salmon grain free). I have found 3 things that would make her wolf down her food - fresh rotisserie chicken, Purina Fortiflora probiotics, and Pet Naturals of Vermont’s Daily Multi (crumbled into tiny bits)

    • @NessaandSophie
      @NessaandSophie  Před 2 lety

      The process of switching foods does seem endless sometimes, but that's so interesting that you were able to figure out that those three items get her excited for her food.

    I have a maltipoo that is somewhat of a picky eater. I heard about “fresh food” and tried out these rolls from the brand Fresh Pet (can be picked up at Target, Walmart, and Costco in the refrigerator of the dog section). My dog loves it! I have been feeding her this for the last 5 months, and she has gobbled down every single meal since we made the switch. She will literally lick her bowl clean for any scraps. It can be costly for a bigger dog, but my dog is only 4 pounds and I spend less than $10/week. Fresh Pet is considered A Grade food, so it is considered much healthier for dogs as well. Her poop has been much healthier since eating this and she always has a ton of energy

    • @NessaandSophie
      @NessaandSophie  Před 2 lety

      I've heard of the Fresh Pet rolls but we've never tried them but that's awesome that it gets your dog to enjoy her meals and that you've seen other benefits from her eating this brand.

    Lol, my Cavapoo (16 months) will sneak, steal other dogs’ food but neglects her. Their food could be a bowl of bland kibbles, whatever -/ she will greedily eat ‘em but ditches her bowl of much better food (for ex, pot roast made just for her!) I have had, taken care of other breeds/dogs, feeding them was never an issue! But my Cavapoo (I love her so much,?she’s very loving, hilarious) , feeding her an on-going struggle

    Nibbles will eat most anything unless it comes from a can.
    If it comes from a can he won't eat it.
    He eats dry food for puppies all day, then at about 1700 hrs he gets people food.
    Chicken, beef, pork & sometimes kangaroo.
    Aside from his daily walk that is his fave time of day.
    TY for the vid.

    My cavapoo is completely opposite! She use to be a picky eater with her littermate and she would chose the meat only and then we switch to royal cannin kibble for small dogs and she adores it when we put it in the table she will eat it all up and she always tries to find her food!

    • @NessaandSophie

      That's so awesome, she sounds like she really enjoys her food and I am so glad that her pickiness disappeared. Sophie used to be on Royal Canin when she was a puppy and she loved it until one day she decided she didn't want it anymore. 😊

    Thank you for this. My Maltese is 9 months old and will only eat if I act like I’m eating her food. That worked for about a month now she just pushes her food away. She’ll eat her treats but only certain ones. I still have her crate but I haven’t put her in it in a couple of weeks it’s in my spare bedroom and the past couple of days she’s been going in there trying to get in it. I have the same crate you have but she also has a playpen that she goes in and out of whenever she wants. I’m thinking this crate trick might work, maybe she misses it lol. Gonna give it a try now it’s 2:20 pm here and she still hasn’t eaten her food today and I tried everything so hopefully this will work.

      @@jaydenlyu9473 Hi no she didn’t but I put her in her playpen and told her to eat and she can get out lol. She held off for about a hour then finally ate. That worked for a couple of days then she stopped eating again, so I just started waiting longer between meals and that did the trick. She still has days when she refuses to eat unless I pretend I’m eating her food. 😟. But for the most part she’s been doing good on her own. Let me know what happens with your Maltese. How old is he?

    With Sophie being so picky, did you ever have any hypoglycemic episodes? My Cavapoo is SO picky, but gets hypoglycemic if she doesn’t eat. For that brand food, how much per serving do you give her? And does she only eat twice a day?

    • @NessaandSophie
      @NessaandSophie  Před rokem

      I've done research on hypoglycemic episodes and fortunately Sophie has never experienced any of those symptoms. Right now we're with Acana for her food and she eats twice, in the morning and at night.

    Thank you for this video. I will try the crate trick. My Cavapoo (16 months) loves her crate AS LONG AS I do NOT SHUT the door. If I do that, she literally screams, pounds inside it! As for eating:!Mind-boggling and frustrating. Some ppl recommended just leaving her bowl of kibbles out with an idea she will eat when hungry. Sure-- it works but issue with that is if she doesn’t eat consistently, it leads to bowel problems. If constipated, then it triggers anal gland problems (if ppl are not aware of anal gland problems- let’s just say it leaves my pups bottom smelling like fish.!The smell travels distance, can’t avoid it). So…..back to Plan A for me: scheming, plotting to get her to eat, consistently once a day. Btw, my pup was easy to feed the first 6 months- but one day after the 6th month, it became an on-going struggle to get her to eat. Once we were eating-- (to test her) we gave the same thing in her bowl.!She rejected her bowl, only wanted what was on our plates! 🤪

(We do have a cat and we've seen her sneeking the cat food...). Dr said no to human food or that will be all she will want... ahh..what to do!!! Enjoy your vids!!!

    I also feed my puppy (pomeranian) in her crate, and she tends to eat more and faster than outside because nothing destructs her, and it's kinda boring environment, so there's nothing to do except sleep or eat 😂

    I bought a new cavapoo. Now he is 7 months old. How much dry food should i give it to him. He is 12 pound. I am feeding him kibbles twice a day. Is one cup enough? Thank you

  • @justlookattheflowers4239

    she will always eat raw chicken wings no matter what and scrambled eggs. her supposed to be regular food is raw puppy food, which occasionally she will eat without a problem, she likes home cooked meat, she wont eat kibble and she wont eat canned or pouch food. shes an expensive eater lol, she throws a tantrum in the crate if asked to eat in there, but shell sleep fine in it at night with her cozy blankets.

    If my Maltese can eat... I would be happy. She such a picky eater. I took her to Vet and gave her supplements to increase her appetite, it does not work. The vet tells me she'll grows out of it and will eat independently one day. 😢Not true after 2 years. I feel her kibble with (once in awhile) A5 JAPANESE WAGYU BEEF, salmon, free range organic feed chicken / or lamb cutlets, Australian extra lean beef mince with spinach, broccoli, carrots and blueberries. She still not eat....sometimes you see them like kids, where you have to chase the little kid to feed them. If she eat her food daily, I'll be over the moon. She won't touch raw or freeze foods. She won't touch table foods..nor she grab our foods. Beat that.. Lick mats and toys, training crate does not not on my Emily.
