In California, it is illegal to charge for air at a gas station. They have it posted at the pump for 75 cents, but you can just go in and ask them to turn it on and they have to. Just putting that out there because many don’t know that.

As a persone who works in a campus bookstore, I will say we all do not act like that, however, if a customer gets snarky or starts yells I act indifferent and take immense pleasure in watching them get turn into an angry tomato.
As a former campus bookstore worker I can vouch for this, I just gave them more indifference the worse they got.
Most bookstore employees I’ve met are absolute angels; so thank you for helping us clueless college students out!
Never encountered this behavior, never heard of it either. I went to mostly community colleges and downtown public universities. Snarky attitude gets you fired.

For the second to the last story, the court actually has to PROVE beyond reasonable doubt the daughter's action directly caused the patient's death in order to send the daughter to prison.
Had a similar snow story when I was a kid.

Gas stations around here don't charge for air. All you have to do is go in and ask them to turn on the compressor. I'm bewildered that anyone would charge just to turn the compressor on.
One of the gas stations near where I live has you pay 25 cents for a minute and hold on to the id for tube. They have theft problems for tubes.
In regards to the nurse's story: I remember distinctly when I had to go to ER after my spinal tap because I was uncontrollably vomiting- even had to pause while explaining my issue to the triage nurse to vomit. Once someone comes to collect me and bring me back, the woman who had been there before me goes up to the triage nurse to complain about how they haven't been helped but they were there first- nurse tells her coldly that it's based on severity. Cue the sound of me loudly vomiting into my puke bag as I'm wheeled out of the room by another nurse. Makes me laugh to this day.

Melissa Tee It has been called that from the time it was established. In fact, Mormon is the name of the person who abridged all the records together in the Book of Mormon. In the early church, there were mobs of people who ran members farther out west and often used mormon as a derogatory term. Many people also separate them from Christianity in this way and members of the church thought it was an easy way to introduce people to the book and it sort of just stuck to the point that it was used for official websites and pamphlets. The prophet, President Nelson, was directed by God that we need to make more of an effort to correcting this because our focus is on Jesus Christ and it is wrong to take him out of the name of our church. So it honestly makes perfect sense. It’s easier to say Mormons but the correct name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If we wish yo abbreviate we need to say the Church of Jesus Christ. It can be a mouthful but I appreciate this correction. I hope this helps.
Bryce Ellis That’s honestly shocking to me because the name of the church has been the same since it was first established. People often refer to members as Mormons and even people within the church will refer to each other that way. Officially, the name has always been and always will be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

My scout master was shoveling snow when he was a kid he shoveled a drive wats in 5 min was supposed to get 20$ for it but the old lady said she would only give home 5$ so he and his friend started shoveling the snow back on to her driveway until she paid them the full amount
When I was in college the only reason someone would call Campus police was for some kids mom getting angry that a price for a pass for the test was 15 dollars and someone was selling stuff you know the stuff you don’t want to sell near police

Yes. Hospitals are either non-profits or for profit. Either way you need someone to be in charge & manage the money end of things. A doctor likely wouldn't have graduated from business school as well.
Waleed Al-Rabbani No, you’re not stupid but most hospitals are ran like businesses. It’s one issue people are very upset by in the U.S...I had a friend go to the emergency room for chest pains. She was ok but the cost for the doctor looking her over and some medicine was about $4000. I wish I was exaggerating.

I would like to argue that while that is typically true, it's not always. My mom's been out of the hospital for a little over a week after having her gall bladder removed and having an endoscopy to remove the stones in the bile duct, but it aggravated her left bundle branch block (cardiac) and impacted her hepatic (liver) system by causing liver damage and making liver enzymes leech into her blood. She was in agonizing pain (on opioids every four hours), unable to eat. Aside from the liver and cardiac symptoms, they had to also take into account her enormous medical history and medications so they wouldn't kill her during the surgery by making mistakes that would cause uncontrollable bleeding or a pulmonary embolism, or cause massive infection since she has hypogammaglobulinemia. This is not even a tenth of her problematic medical history, either.
And I do understand taking the cardiac emergency first, my mom has a long medical history cardiac issues, including rapid ventricular response. Today is the ten-year anniversary of her almost dying from that. But know a patient's history and don't necessarily bump them down for "just" gall stones.
Sympathies. But in this case it sounds like the nurse was indeed aware of the patient's history.

But the lack of a companion is not 'evidence' of it being fake however.
A: They are at a gas station, in the parking lot, the companion could easily have been inside making a purchase.
B: He may well have been on his own during some down time. I've seen plenty of missionaries on their own in the middle of the day.
@@ultimasdragon7840 actually their missionaries must be in view of their companions. One being inside and the other being outside alone is a no go. Even on their days off their missionaries are with their companions.

However, I could see it being a "busy body" member.
My church (the church of jesus christ of latter day saints- aka lds), wants everyone to be a missionary whether you are doing it as a called to serve missionary or just a member missionary. So a member handing a pamphlet out and acting as a member missionary makes more sense to me.
