does tightness in that area cause knee pain? if so, will foam rolling/stretching that muscle relieve the knee pain?
Very informative. I have runners knee and seeing a great physio to fix my vastus medialis.
Thank you for your feedback 🙏
Just wait until you reach 50 years old lol
Hey did your runners knee cause the inner part of your knee to hurt? Asking for myself.
@@lindamia2329 I don’t want to wait. I want to be proactive
Thank you!
I don't know if you will see this but my pain is on the medial side, would it be the opposite of this video? Therefore I need to work on the vastus latralis?
Amazing content!

I seems to have this problem as I have chondromalacia verified by MRI but PT hasn’t helped much. Doing decline single leg squat and hamstring and quad stretch take the pain away a bit, but the knee pain persists when I run. What do you suggest I do? Keep stretching the quads? Thanks!
Find any solution ?
Strengthen ur vmo
Any solution?

Good explanation, is can the pain stem from from the hip?
Hi Cindy,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Knee pain is often referred from the hip. More often from the hip joint.

Hello, I liked to ask a question.
I injured my knee about 30 days ago, the doctor diagnosed me as a ACL tear just through a Lachman Test and told me to do surgery as soon as possible, and ofcourse I asked for MRI before doing so, but the doctor rejected it and said it was a waste of time. I mean isn't that the gold standar before doing a surgery?
So I was wondering if it was an ACL tear or not, because on the fourth day after injury, I am possible to walk without cane, but still, I'm limping till the 2nd week walk like a tip toe walk on my injured feet, but then I realised something till now, that my VMO muscle(inner from thigh) was smaller from the other foot. Does it occur because of the injury, or does the VMO muscle get smaller because it occur from an MCL tear or sprain?
My MRI scheduled is in 2 weeks, now I'm deeply confused which doctor or psio should I trust.
on my 3rd week, I can walk normally but not like a normal state, today is day 30 and I'm able to walk normal like before but still there's a pain in my knee.
Anything else? Hoping for the best
hey my friend, i have the same case as u. refused Surgery and stuck w physio / strengthening and slowly easing back to sports after 1.5 years the pain has gone away
In 2018 when I was 10 years old, I was trying to get up a concrete plateform. I hit my knee aginst the platform edge very hard. In my right knee, above the patella, I got hit. Since then, it has happened 6 times that while running, my patella displaces slightly, I lose balance and fall down. It is very painful. I can hear its sound while falling. I think I damaged my medial retinaculum or vastus medialis.
We're sorry to hear about your knee pain. It sounds like seeing a physical therapist for a proper evaluation could be beneficial to address potential underlying issues. Stay safe! 🏃♂️
so what’s the solution? strengthen the vmo? or remove the cause?
thank you
Remove your leg.
So how are we supposed to heel vastus medialis?
What can I do about recovering for this
Hi Tana,
If the problem is coming from a Myofacial trigger point and you have had other structures ruled out by a professiional, you can try deep stroking massage or Inhibition Compression Technique over the relevant trigger points using your fingers or some of the tools on the market for this. Try this once a day and se how you react you may need to adjust the frequency as you improve.

Thanks so much. This makes so much sense to me because I feel pain shooting up my quad muscle and inside of my thigh. One of my Dr.‘s said it’s arthritis, which I know I have but only minor. The other said I have no VMO muscle and I have to work that muscle out, which I’m doing but it’s not really helping.
medication?

Ok but….. solutions?
Gave a thumbs down because the man is confusing in the first half of the video. He’s talking about VMed and then suddenly talking about VLat with no transition and then back to V Med… and that’s not the only poorly dictated portion of this vid. It should be deleted
Fr I was tryna see why my vastus medilus is stronger then any other quad muscle in my left leg
