Thank you so much for this video! I spent over an hour trying to fix this and had given up and was about to pay $400 for a new one when my wife suggested I find a video on CZcams.

OMG! I spent an hours screwing with this, tried Dyson tech support, and was really frustrated. Found your video and in 3 minutes I am done! If you were local, I would drop off a 6 pack. Thanks!

You are the man! I spent ten minutes trying to puzzle this piece in, spent another five searching and finally found your vide. Done in a minute.
This is the best of what CZcams has to offer for fixing something. Whatever it is, someone has been there, done that, and taken the time to make a video of it.

Thank you for clear instructions for the assembly of this part! All other Dyson videos strangely skip over this.

You are great! My Dyson has been down for about 10 months because I could not figure out how to get that stupid part back on. Thank you so much! One of the best vacuums I've ever owned. Still has the suction it had from the dash I bought it.

Great video! Before I turned to CZcams I struggled with that valve pipe for an hour with my wife staring at me the whole time. After your video it took me like three minutes and done. Vacuum and marriage saved. Thanks!

Why is it the wives like to look over the shoulder ? Don't they know we fix it as soon as they walk out of the room ?

I generally don't make comments, but I have to give five stars to this video and applaud very hard this time. I got stuck with this elbow thingy and struggled for an hour There would be no way for me to figure the proper way to put it back if it were not for this demo! Great job! Thank you so much!

I just want to thank you for your simple and clear tutorial on how to reattach the valve pipe on my Dyson DV17! I tried and tried to do it with no luck...I was trying to attach the seal along with the valve pipe and retention ring and MAN of man that did NOT work. Finally...I found your video....(cue angelic lights and sound)...and it was easy as one, two. three! Yippee! Really do appreciate it! You are a great teacher! :-)

Thanks a lot for posting this video. I had a DC17 that was sitting in my basement for 5+ years unused and I have to admit I had abused it and used it like a shop vac at time. Anyways, fast forward our other vac broke, decided to fix this one and ended up getting a new motor, brush bar, lower cover plate, and your video was extremely helpful in putting that valve pipe connector back into the machine. Thanks again!

Actually to disassemble all that's needed is to reverse the process, however the trick is to use WD-40 as he clearly says on the video. Once I applied WD-40, the valve came right off. Thank you again for your video. Crisis adverted, one more marriage saved !!

I did all that as You-Tube show me . The problem is when i stand up right it look great. It when i turn it on and engage the roller the U Bend Assemble pull away so the dirt goes right back in the floor and I don't know why? I need help. Dyson people were very little help because it a older model. Should I replace the Vale Pipe Assy?
