@@theflameofsnow2323 If you’re willing to deny and sweep the detrimental effects of plastic surgery and the constantly changing unattainable beauty standards set by society and media you’ve got a bigger problem there. There is no need to get defensive and be rude, she was stating something that is true. The late Gary Wilson, author of Your Brain On Porn (aka one of the biggest industries that pushes particular features among other things..), even went on to explain that exaggerated or perfect features change the chemistry in the brain and this is being seen on a global scale.

I’ve struggled with body dysmorphia my entire life, never knowing if I could trust what i was seeing. after a couple of months watching your videos (and telling everybody i know to watch it too) i posted my first photo without a filter, or photoshop or anything on instagram!! I know it may seem like its nothing, but for me it means a lot. Thank you, Lorry. Even with an ocean of distance, you’ve changed my life, my relationship with the mirror and with myself.

When I was a teen about 20 years ago I'll never forget seeing Wynona Ryder in a magazine with unphotoshopped legs. Until then, I felt so badly about mine and the hair stubble you could always see as I'm fair skinned with dark hair like she is. I couldn't wear shorts until then. I often think about what young people go through now!!!
I made a huge audible "PFFFT!" sound when you said your friend didn't think Bella Hadid had had any surgery. Like... what?? It's wild to me that people have such low "literacy" or ability to recognize cosmetic procedures but it really shows why this channel is so important!
Honestly, I had no idea who Bella Hadid was until maybe a year ago, so I had no idea what she looked like before her surgery. I assumed she just looked like that too, until I saw pictures of her younger self. Most people don’t just assume that a random beautiful woman has had surgery unless it’s obvious, or if they knew what they looked like before.

Bella Hadid literally admitted that she had plastic surgery. Her mom encouraged her to get a rhinoplasty on her nose. And Bella has spoken out about that and legit said she thinks she could have grown into her natural nose and misses her natural nose. Lol so her friend is clearly living under a rock.

I am 51 and turning 50 was very traumatic for me. I had always looked very young for my age and it kind of all of a sudden (it seemed) caught up with me. Lorry’s videos help me be ok with how I naturally look instead of comparing myself to unrealistic celebrity standards. Maybe I will get something done one day because she’s taught me what’s available. But for now I’m more accepting of myself. Thank you Lorry. This is important work. I am grateful. 💗

@@vakiatue I think it's mostly because Schnapp's age and the content. While it was a silly conversation, it was private, so I don't think people have a problem with Doja replying publicly, but the degree of her response. You can argue that she (or anyone really) has the right to respond as "extreme" as they want (social etiquette is individual), but it's kind of like punching someone in the face if they pinched you - most people would align more with an equivalent reaction instead of something drastically more extreme. I think also because her extreme knee-jerk reactions have become a pattern, I think folks give less grace after a while (as opposed if it were the first time she reacted as such). Second was the context of her asking an underaged kid to be her wingman - I think it just didn't sit right with a lot of people in general. Third, since Schnapp is underage, I think people didn't have high expectations that he wouldn't share a "juicy" conversation in the first place, especially since Gen-z chronically overshares everything.
For me as an Hispanic I realized how problematic and immature she was after the controversy with Paraguay.
Its crazy how doja won an award for a song empowering women around the same time she kicked one down. And for what? I haven’t seen her the same since

I think your channel has honestly gotten me to appreciate my natural beauty/body. I wanted to get surgery because I felt the pressure from social media and celebrities. I stumbled across it by chance and it seriously helped me love my natural beauty. Thank you for exposing the truth and remaining positive.
Btw doja has definitely had surgery and I think you definitely didn't deserve the hate for exposing the obvious. Noses doesn't change because you lost weight, there's no nose workout. For example my weight has fluctuated all my life. When I was 17 my nose looked bigger because my face was thinner. But when I was in quarantine I gained a little in my face and my facial features changed. My lips got bigger and my nose was smaller(honey I'm broke so I can't even afford plastic surgery if I wanted to) all and all I think there should be a law to disclose plastic surgeries as a influencer because we look up to them and it can cause body dysmorphophobia because we're tryna achieve a unattainable look . And it's unattainable because of surgery

You know, I am an artist. I sketch portraits. I find beauty in all faces. I even like the pimple scars and recreating them in art. Art accepts originality. World in general deviated from spotting talent to spotting perfect physical features. Nothing wrong in that , but it is putting so much pressure on the people in spotlight. I enjoy watching your videos because I understand how much effort and pain celebs put in but also sadly denying that.

I am Mexican and have lived in the US for the last 32 years because I married a US citizen, I went back to my home town to get plastic surgery, I know the surgeon and my mom and sisters had have surgery with Arturo. I remember him walking in the neighborhood with a stack of books (used to live a couple of blocks away wen I was playing with friends and riding my bike) I had a full face lift with amazing results for under $8000 USD. I am going back to his clinic? Absolutely yes.

I feel like Doja Cat has a lot trauma that makes her extra sensitive to perceived criticism. She has these extreme reactions to a lot of situations. I don't think she's a bad person, but I think she would definitely benefit from therapy if she's not already seeing a therapist.
The hyper sensitivity comes from having a massive ego. It’s something we have as a child but eventually grow out of (that’s if you weren’t completely in a toxic environment)
She isn’t emotionally mature at all, and most likely just held onto that ego as a means to protect herself (whether she knows it or not) I would agree she needs to go to a therapist that will actually help her and not say “you’re right” to every single thing.
The thing is she s a celebrity not a nobody so actually no matter the trauma, the sensitivity, she cannot act that way

I remember in 5th grade, I’m now 18, I absolutely hated myself. I hated everything about myself bc I seen all these absolutely beautiful girls (that were twice my age) on social media. I was so young and naive that I didn’t know filters & surgery was being used. It took me a lot of growing up & knowledge to accept myself. I love channels like yours that educate people that this is really the reality of social media & life

At 62 I’m more into looking the best I can for my age. Having a great haircut, wearing fashionable clothing, skincare & makeup can go a long way. All that being said after a large weight loss many years ago I have enough to neck skin to make a Louis Vuitton Bag!
I have a very good intuition and can always tell when someone is telling the truth. Lorry ALWAYS comes off as genuine, open, and honest with me. She keeps it real, and shares all of her knowledge with us...that's a good girlfriend, am I right?

The image of celebrities affects so many people. Understanding how that image is nurtured and polished, being open and honest about procedures, results, consequences, etc. is the only healthy way to avoid misunderstandings, insecurities and unnecesary traumas.
I don't know why so many feel a need to "hide" procedures they've had done and create that myth of personal genetic perfection. Maybe ego issues, insecurities... Whatever the reason they do a great disservice to the public, as anyone distorting the truth does.
I really appreciate what you do. It's demistifying, and at the same time appreciative, informative and pragmatically useful. It also takes guts, social media's a jungle. You deserve the success you're having.

I've been intrigued by your channel since I first came across it and have honestly had mixed feelings in the past. I commented once about my feelings and you were gracious enough to respond and answer my questions as well as ask your own. That made me respect you so much more. And since continuing to watch your channel, my respect has grown. I am really enjoying this video. I have no cosmetic procedures and don't intend to have any. I guess my interest in your videos is the "lifting of the veil" aspect of celebrities. And also my heart has always been with people, especially young women, who compare and despair over their appearance and put so much of their value in it.
