I want to be positive, but most people shown in the tiktok vids had procedures that made them look very fake and similar to one another ....same big lips, same foxy eyes, same small noses kinda unsettling

Beauty culture is becoming like that from Korean beauty standards. Everybody ends up having the same facial features.
@@royery Hmmm I actually don't think the west will develop a Korean beauty standard. There are too many ethnicities for that to happen imo. Ive only seen this phenomenon on instagram. Lots of Hollywood actors still look significantly different than eachother.

The braid facelift hack thing is super cool but as a hairstylist, I would definitely caution against doing it on a regular basis. Depending on how tight you’re pulling that back I could definitely see that causing alopecia. Or at the very least breakage. I always enjoy your videos Lorry, thanks for keeping it real.

May I just say that I really appreciate that even when you don't like the end results, you're still very kind and thoughtful when discussing the patients and their procedures. I also really love that you're never "whole hog" on plastic surgery, like you're willing to call out when someone doesn't need it, or goes a little overboard, or is being a bit frivolous, but you never use those words, you find a much kinder way to say it!
Your content has really made me feel better about so many of the faces I see online and in person. Knowing that many of them are surgically enhanced makes me feel better about myself knowing that I like how I look without it. Maybe one day, but not today. Which isn't to say I feel superior to these people, more so that I appreciate knowing that I simply can't afford to look like them right now! Your content is positive and educational. With the braid hair hack I'd be scared of hair loss with the constant pulling (she said she does it constantly). I have thick hair and I'd still be scared. Maybe if you change up the area?

Same. And I’d get a migraine. Maybe I’m the exception but the part of my head where I’d need to pull the braids back is so sensitive. I’d be in so much pain if I did that.

What Bethany said is completely bang on to how I feel about procedures. Exactly. I'm in my mid 40s and I see things that I know in 10, 15 years will really bother me, but if I do decide to go to route of plastic surgery, I want to stay looking like me. I never would want to try and look 20, 30 something. When people start going that route is when they start looking freaky and weird. Compliment your age with "appropriate," procedures.

My problem with facelifts is that they don't last. It's either super tight and fake looking or it looks great till it starts to fall down. Plastic surgery doesn't last forever, you have to get it fixed up constantly.
That is exactly why I would be hesitant to have any procedures, also I'm an actor so I feel that I would rather look 'old' and be able to move my face. Ultimately the choice was made for me because I can't afford it - now or later!!

Honestly it depends on the surgeon, a good rhinoplasty or deep-plane face-lift will last the rest of your life, obviously you continue to age but a well done face-lift can take off 15-20 years & still look natural

imo With the woman at 15:58 I think her nose fit her face beautifully. Her smaller new nose emphasizes her wide set eyes. She seems happy with it which is all that matters.
Why do people put, “They’re happy with it, that’s all that matter.” That goes without saying but the point of these type of videos is to learn which procedures might be suitable/necessary for who. We know we can’t stop anyone from getting surgery. We’re just talking.

Such a fun video! I appreciate Bethenny being honest about her plans to get work done, but I also find it very hard to believe that she's only had botox and filler to her face. It's long been speculated that she had her jaw shaved down, and if you look at older photos she does have a completely different face shape that would be very difficult to achieve with botox alone. A full Lorry analysis would be so interesting to watch, but I also respect your decision for not wanting to court beef with Bethenny 🤣

I think she's suffered from eating disorders. She's said so, though I think she claims a full recovery. Bulimia can really change the shape of your face. The parotid glands enlarge from vomiting (sialadenosis) and cause chipmunk cheeks and jaw enlargement. It takes some time into recovery for them to shrink down, and they tend to blow up really quickly even from brief and minor relapses.

I don’t think famous people count injectables as plastic surgery. So botox and filler don’t count to Bethany only knife work😂 The way she does her eyebrows also date and age her.
Actually injectables don't count as plastic surgery cuz there's no 'surgery' involved, they are more referred to as non surgical procedures but yeah its definitely not plastic surgery

Thank you for always being so genuine, but still kind; especially in this video! ❤ I’m all for women and men doing what makes them happy, but the fact that plastic surgery is so normalized now - especially in terms of SO many of us having the same things done to get a certain look that are literally ‘trends’ (fox eye, Barbie nose, ponytail lift) is completely wild and sad to me!
This was a great watch! Your reactions were very gracious and authentic, and I laughed at times because I was feeling the same way! I have to agree with you, sometimes that person may want to look a certain way even if we don't think that's the best surgical decision. Our beauty/aesthetic tastes are subjective and unique. So I like that your reactions honor their choices and guided us to understand what led them to make those choices. I think that's the most interesting part, trying to understand what led them to seek a certain "look".

It takes guts to be that open with your audience and admit you want to get cosmetic work done and know your going to get judged by people for being called “superficial”. I’m allergic to surgical tape too! I first discovered it with bandaids. Thankfully I let my surgeon know beforehand and we used an alternative tape that I wasn’t allergic to.

As a Af. American I always wanted a nose job because I have a chocolate drop nose. Now that I’m 50 I really like my nose. Big wide black noses are beautiful. My black dad has one. My black mother had a long thin almost “Barbie” nose. When I look at my face and the face of my brother I see our parents noses short thin bridge with slightly wide nostrils.. ❤
im kinda self conscious about my eyes because theyre downturned and hooded but last night i had a nightmare that i had had an eye fox surgery and i regretted it cuz i didnt look like myself anymore and wish id never done it. i woke up when i saw my eyes were normal i felt a huge relief

Hey Lorry, with your dental background would you consider doing a video on orthognathic surgery? I’m a candidate and it would require me to have six teeth pulled, braces and then lower or double jaw surgery. It’s a niche but I think a lot of people would be interested as there is not a lot of advice out there about it 😊

I really like seeing these before and afters on non-famous people. I hope you make these kinds of videos part of your regular rotation. I’m still shook by that lady’s nose job at at 3:54. Makes me itch for a consult myself. Such a drastic change but also so harmonious and natural looking.

My big problem with those nose job videos is that they only show their result after a few weeks. But that's not their final nose. They should wait with those videos for a year, because the final nose develops within 12 months and... A LOT can happen in that time.
For example I remember PrettyPastelPlease here on YT who had a perfect (as in "straight", looked like it was made with a triangle ruler) nose a few weeks after the surgery, but her nose kept changing and now she has a very different nose.
Watching Lorry react to these TikToks was such a treat. Lorry you are naturally funny and light hearted. I enjoy your kindness to everyone, while still voicing your own honest thoughts. This content was great and I can’t wait for the next! Have a great holiday Lorry ❤❤❤

One thing to note, she has been honest about using botox on her JAW because she has really bad TMJ that caused her jaw to look very square. You’ll notice the change in her jaw when looking at older pics. Apparently, this seems to be true, that over time those botox treatments in her jaw allowed for those muscles to chill out a little, thus appearing as a less pronounced jawline.
Lorry, please do a video on Lauren Sanchez. She has had so much done. I think she would be a great example of going from extreme natural beauty to uncanny valley.

I think the second black rhinoplasty-girl looked better with her natural nose - her nose is waaaaay too small for her face after, which makes her jaw look really out of proportion, and makes the space between her eyes look weird 😕

Yes, it's crazy how she went for a more European nose. I believe Lorry has covered Megan the Stallion nose and her after surgery nose looks like her before but smaller. It looks like it fits her face. That girl in the Tik Tok video just straight up looks like Lil Kim now.

when my leg was amputated I had the same reaction to the tape with my wound vac , it was horrible ...
I feel like the next to last example had a filter on that made her nose look even smaller than the rhinoplasty results. It’s the lips that give it away. The upper lip is massively larger and a very different color than the lower lip. It looks EXACTLY like a certain filter. So that might make it difficult to see the actual results of her surgery.
Yes… her face is extremely filtered so I don’t think her nose is that small after surgery
