  • This video is to show how a X9 right shifter is fully disassembled. This should help if you need to know how to repair one, if you forgot how to correctly reassemble yours, or are missing parts.

Do you have assembly video also?Taking apart seems easy, not so the other way round

Just reverse the process. I did my best to show you how things are taken apart and the specifics of how they fit together. I understand this is challenging for some people, especially those that are less familiar with working on such equipment. This video was intended for a more experienced mechanic that simply needs an intuitive example. It was also intended to address the issue of multilingual access to a technical cycling subject.
I haven't created any other cycling content in a long time and really don't plan to make more any time soon. I find the subject somewhat depressing after I became partially disabled by a driver while commuting to work on a bike in early 2014. I made this video to occupy my time while recovering, and thinking I would still get back to racing and recover 100%.
I'm sorry if this isn't as helpful as you would like.

Are the x9 and x7 interchangeable as in parts. I have a x7 10 speed rear shifter that's nearly new and a x9 shifter that has a stripped bar hole (the part that holds on to handlebars) and want to swap parts from 9 to 7 case.

No. They are all different from what I recall.

Casing wise idk but heard in a rare case the 2008 x7 has old x9 internals, but best to ask Sram? Things change…
