I would have needed that video three years ago, when I wanted to change the gear cable, but opened the wrong cover in some lunatic mood. After fiddling for hours with thread and ribbon to fix the spring while reattaching the lever, it did not shift and was sticking (maybe the wavy washer was bent). I brought it then to a Specialized store, the repair guy was eager and began to open it. And then said the best sentence I never wanted to hear: Interesting, I haven‘t seen the inner stuff before… 💩

Lol, from experience, the best mechanics are the oldschool types who used to repair motorbikes who, therefore have a better understanding of the mechanisms etc, generally repaired rather than replaced. Most of the time (not always) you have those type of bike technicians who chuck a whole cassette away instead of changing the one sprocket. In fairness, it’s also relative to time and cost. 2 hours repairing an item at $40/h Vs replacing for $60

How to fix this shifter? It don’t want to shift one level up. (3sp) only one down and one up (2sp middle) There’s one little piece is broken inside. Ooh you show it in 6:10

Broken? Would you like me to make a magic spell? :) If its broken; these parts are impossible to replace.
