Great video Chris! I also appreciate the shout out for Keith & I! 🖒 The end about training, networking & building friendships is spot on! 2 thumbs up! 🖒🖒
Ohhhh yeah, you get all the gems Chris! She's a good unit! Gotta love them diesels! I remember doing alot of injectors on the Detroits when I was wrenching on them in the service😉👍. The M1074 PLS HEMTT's ran the 8V92TA Detroit. They're noisy...but I remember doing my first set of manifolds on them and forgot to drain the coolant (which was hot AF still) before I started pulling the studs😂😂😂...needless to say I got crap for that mistake for quite a few months! What a mess! Excellent information and video man! You are one hell of a good guy!
Well said brother! There is plenty of work for all and we're much stronger together than we ever are alone. Excellent video as well. One of my customers has a 20 ton rough terrain crane with that same engine. The "fuel miser" was its nickname if I'm not mistaken. First time I worked on it he had a concern of a fuel leak as they would smell it and get smoke after running it awhile. Turned out the engine just an excessive amount of blow-by and the smoke they were seeing was coming straight from the road draft tube. Keep up the great work!
Chris absolutely spot on with your message at the end of the video. Networking is a great aspect in our industry from learning new testing procedures to listening to other people’s case studies. It’s all great. Thankful to have amazing people in our industry sharing their experience and knowledge! Thanks for the video my friend!
Thanks for the support Angel, wish we had more time to chat at Super Saturday but I was all over the place trying to catch up with everyone and not be late to class. Building up the greater community is what will benefit us all in the end.
This video was very helpful! Thank you. I have one of these in an f700 water truck. I don't have a ton of diesel experience but this motor is different than anything I've ever worked on
I'll continue putting out videos and try to make each one better than the last. Thanks for the support and training is the key to improvement for sure.
Thanks Maic, stole the idea from Keith and Cuba. Organization is definitely key, I've learned that as I spend more time on the road. A place for everything and everything in its place.
Prodigy science of Diagnostic Tutorial great video brilliant thank you Take care and have a great day Science of Diagnostic From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
Awesome video Chris, it was so nice to meet you at Super Saterday! Thanks for taking the time to make these great videos and sharing your knowledge. Stronger Together. Vito.
Awesome video Chris very interesting. I love the creative foresight thinking. I know not much about diesel besides driving one daily I admire you’re knowledge about them. Good job brother
Jay, I have no doubt you'd do awesome with diesels. Just about getting up to speed on the systems. As you know, if you have questions, feel free to get ahold of me and I'll help however I can.
Thanks Mike, even with quick diags, I think there is always something to be learned. Trick is getting it on video properly and I appreciate everyone's continued support as I try to improve the quality.
I think i need to replace my 8.2Ts injectors. mine runs fine and starts very very easily but got some white smoke but no coolant loss and no signs of a blown headgasket except for the white smoke. gonna drain the fuel tanks first and replace my fuel filters and see if its just not water in the fuel.
If I can, I’ll pull a glow plug and create a “known” loss of compression when I’m doing an RC test. I use that as a sync to figure out the firing order. Then I will do a manual compression test in that one cylinder which gives me an actual number that I can use with the humps on the rest of the RC test to calculate the pressures in the other cylinders. Only works on engines that have external glow plugs obviously lol.
Excellent point and definitely a good way to go depending on the overall symptoms. Theres a lot of tricks to get by with the diesels. Sharing them makes us all better I was thinking of using an accelerometer to get a pulse of an exhaust runner (should vibrate somewhat during an exhaust event) and go from there but the rain ruined my chances for experiments.
@15:30 ... Replace 1i Hector or replace All 8...? Well, Lets Fund Out if those injectors are $25 A piece or $180+ A Piece🤔 .. p.s- LIVE the Vid... But DAMN... "OLD OLD TRUCK"😑 Born in 72' Mate!😒
Just watched this video trying to find out why my 8.2 won't start. It grab fine one year ago when I parked it. Then it cranked and only started on starting fluid. Would you be so kind to offer a place to start. Thanks
Hello Chris I have a 8.2 that has a computer board governor and needs replacing and was wondering if those governors need to be timed or can it simply be replaced?
That's a great way to do it. If it wasn't for others reaching out and bringing me.into their networks, I'd still be having a real rough time.in the industry.
@@ScienceOfDiagnostics nice.. figured that's what it was, i have a 8.2, and it does not run as good as that one. but it sat for 15years, so I'm sure i need to do the injectors. Thanks
Well, We weren't quite so luck with the Injectors being The ONLY issue.. We had loss of power, Then ,- damn, head gasket😫 (we pushed- She Pushed Back😖) -anyways still trying to fund the Torque Specs on this 81 FordF700-8.2 Non-turbo.. Got Any Info you might feel like Sharing on A GORGEOUS SUNDAY day?😜
First indeed Steve. Thanks for the continued support and promotion mate. I'm going to keep trying to improve the content bit by bit. Classroom style content coming up soon. 👨🏫 You're awesome.
Great video Chris! I also appreciate the shout out for Keith & I! 🖒

It was well deserved Cuba. The end was just something I had been thinking about and rambled on about a bit.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. 👍

Thank you Joe. Much appreciated.
Great video.
Nice video man!
Running the overhead on my 8.2 and setting the injector heights helped more than anything.
Good video and run down of the fuel injector operation Chris. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Brian. It was a spur of the moment video due to the rain but I tried to get some educational content in.

The convenient part of him parking all his equipment in the same lot, downside is it is always on the woodchip pile.

Bad injector, customer opted to replace all due to the age of the vehicle. Running well and working daily.
