- Tour and cold start of my 1986 f700 8.2 Detroit diesel turbo that has been converted into a toterhome motorhome. Sporting a 5 speed with 2 speed rear end driving like a dump truck. 8.2l Detroit turbo diesel cold starting and toterhome tour of this 86 manual diesel ford truck.
Pretty awesome.....not going to lie I wasnt expecting it to be so nice.

Amigos algen conose las medidas de calibración de los inyectores del motor Pincher 8.2
How do you like the 8.2 for hauling? I have an 84 turbo 8.2 in a f700 I want to make a ramp truck with
Good mileage hold mph no issue def not fastest thing in the world. Toter prob weighs 20,000lbs by itself tho
Hey man, I have a 8.2 with a sleeper cab….. pics coming soon….. where did you get your turbo?
From factory. They had a na 8.2 and a turbo version
Where can I find one
I got a 84 f800 with the same engine but non turbo and I can't figure out why the mph maxes out at 50 with engine screaming. Kinda thinking it's stuck in low on rearend or something what's your thoughts?
Idk check to see if it’s a 2 speed rear end. I only can do 65mph max
Ya Its a 2 speed It's got the same up and down button on shifter
I'm thinking it's got wrong size tires on it
@@brittanythomas5124 ya prob stuck in low range
These 8.2L "Fuel Pincher"'s were only used in the G.M. Kodiak/Topkick and Ford F600-F900.The ones that came in Fords said "G.M. Diesel" on the valve covers while the ones in Chevrolets/GMC's said "Detroit Diesel".As a four stroke they were built to have better fuel efficiency than most engines in large trucks at the time. The 6.2L and 6.5L were smaller versions of these engines in lighter trucks obviously such as the C,K,R,and V trucks,G vans,H1 Hummers, and then obviously the CUCV & HMMWV in the military.
In the military there use to be Chevrolet 6×6 C70's which all had these, they had the turbocharged version at 230 HP/510 TQ.
The did have a design flaw though, the cylinders don't exactly reach the top,the verison that has a turbo was known for having vibration because of this, regardless of how many head studs were in each cylinder. It was already highly recommended to change out heads every 40,000 miles.Another thing about them was diesel getting into the coolant,so it was wise to check on that every time it was used,or else there was overheating and eventually a cracked engine block.
Entire heads? I know these like to blow head gaskets due to there open deck design
Hi from Moscow region, Ford is good;-)
Hey buddy!
I thought white smoke on a turbo vehicle means the turbo is dying it also has a sweet smell to it
It can, this is just old diesel they all smoke when it cold out
White smoke from diesel can mean various things such as bad injectors BUT old mechanical diesels such as these tend to blow a little white till they get atleast some heat in them.
Also tou mention a sweet smell. If you got constant white smoke and a sweet smell then you most likely have a blown headgasket. In sever case possibly a cracked head or engine block.
Just checking in, is the 8.2 DD still running good?
Oh yes! Driven 8,000 miles this year need to change the oil lol
@@RacingRamFam Good to hear!
How big is that 8.2 compared to a big block Chevy?
502ci vs 454ci I think a 454ci is a 7.4l
My bad, I mean the actual size of the block or weight w/ & w/o accessories
I’ll have to google some of this 🤔
When are you going drag racing?!
Idk was trying to go this weekend don’t think it will happen prob memorial in brainered
Well I went this past weekend and the video that’s coming out tomorrow, well everyone should get a kick out of it 😂
Hi sir is for sale please let me know tank you.
No lol I use it to much
Respect bro 🙏 💯.
I’m just gonna be honest...not many people will click on a 5 min video bro, a lot of times people don’t even click on a 10min video
So longer video??
You wrong man. I click on every video from RRF!
I’m glad you like them!
I clicked to view. some people dont have 10 plus minutes to sit there and watch. unless we are learning something
Surprised it had a bathroom with a shower
Ya and it’s pretty big!
It's a ford. Are you diluting the channel?
I dont really care I like the ford.
Lol there use to be my f600 on the channel! But just showing everyone my new tow pig
Its a Ford powered by GM.
Can you find parts for this motor? I just got a 8.2 with 19k miles overheats when idling I think clutch fan is maybe bad but trying to find parts for this seems to be a task
Probably blew a head gasket there very known for that. Yes check out J&R diesel service in CA
@@RacingRamFam head gasket at 19k? No smoke, no coolant in oil, no oil in coolant, starts right up in one crank…I would think unlikely going to take thermostat out and see if that fixes priblem
@@JohnParisi83 Is it full on coolant?
@@RacingRamFam yes
@@JohnParisi83 oh well then yes I doubt it’s a head gasket. Does it over heat driving down the road?
