I did everything as the video mentioned, when I turned the mac at first it did not give a chime at all and turned off again, second time i got to the apple logo and mid boot it turned off again but with a little click inside the machine. For the 3rd time it started normally, Anything I should worry about?

Really excellent! Thank you! Now my problem, maybe (??!!) others might have it, too.
Coincidental with the dead battery was a need to update the OS. It was started using the dead battery and could not finish. So, when I booted with the new battery fully charged it got into the could not finish state. Since it could not finish, I could not set the power save values. In the end, I had to re-install over the net -- ~3hours uninterruptible. I left the power attached for that process. Ultimately, I got it booted up and and am now running down the battery. How badly might this affect the calibration?

The video is good but it doesn't mention that the fit on these NuPower batteries is very, very... very tight. When you first place it in, there is about 1/16" of plastic battery case overlapping the metal frame in the upper left corner of the battery bay. I called and was politely told "Push harder." Three times. I had been pushing as hard as I could. Finally I hung up and decided to do a sort of handstand on it. I jumped up and gave it the full weight of my body. And it did snap into place. Shouldn't take that much. Frightening. But now I'm back up and running and my trackpad works..! (no more old swollen battery pushing up on it). Yay.

I looked on your website for a battery to buy. I have this exact mac book pro (15in late 2011) but the only battery listed for the year 2011 is for a 17in Macbook Pro and it says that the battery is ONLY compatible with the 17in model. So i'm kinda confused, do you guys not sell a battery for the 15in macbook pros anymore? Will the battery for the 17in still work with mine? Any answers would be much appreciated. I looked around amazon and other websites for batteries and even though they are a lot cheaper than yours, all the reviews are full of horror stories. So i am very interested in purchasing one from you for the warranty and what seems like guaranteed quality. So I really hope you do have a battery that will work with my Macbook Pro 15in late 2011 model.

The instructions I have on my battery is different:
1.install the battery, turn on the computer and let it discharge up to around 5%
    2. dont let it discharge completely as it can cause irreversible damage to the cells
    3. connect AC adapter and charge according to mac instructions\
    4. repeat 2 and 3 for 3-5 cycles to fully charge the battery
From my knowledge about batteries, quick charge or discharge is not recommended. I wonder how the above isntruction relates to what you mentioned in the video. Care to comment?

Hi MRaun! The only reason a 2011 MacBook Pro would boot up when the charger is connected is if it was still on and it shut down at low charge. A fully charged battery and a MacBook Pro that is shut down properly won't start up simply because the charger is connected.

Apple sealing the battery inside the case, necessitating shutting it down to open it up, and then dealing with screws and connectors, seemed to me to be unintelligent. If you don't want to plug in for the sake of keeping the temperature down, but rather switch in a spare battery, that's no longer convenient.
