I just installed a new battery in my 13 inch 2012 MacBook Pro. It was down to around 40% of capacity, and would only last about an hour off AC. Funny, the old battery had a "Do Not Remove Battery" warning on it. Now I've got a new battery, along with a new SSD drive replacing the old 5400 rpm drive, and 16 gigs of ram. Feels like a brand new computer now. Thanks for the tutorial.

So I did this. The magsafe cable doesn't light up with either a red or green dot when connected. I tested it on another mac and it's fine. The charge bar at the side of the computer doesn't light up when I press on the button either.
I replaced the battery with a new one and there's no difference. The cable is reconnected correctly. Nothing is loose and I went over it all with a magnifying glass to be certain.

I’m in almost the exact same situation. Swelled old battery, same macbook, and got a new battery. All steps worked okay, but the thing is when they took out the old battery they took away the three Y0 screws that secure the battery to the case.
As far as I can tell the lower case being screwed on doesn’t give the battery much wiggle room. What are the risks of not having those screws? Am I okay if I’m just extra careful with the laptop or should i really not use the laptop without those three screws?

Here's the issue, hope you can help me: the power button doesnt seen to work, the way I turn the computer on is by attaching the power cable. After using i turn off the system in the regular way, but to turn on i cant press the power button, i have to unplug and plug back again the cable. I guess that if i just get a new battery it may be useless without the power button, but i also hope that the power button issue may be conected with the absence of the battery and when i get a new one it will work again. Why does your Macbook actually have a grey bootup screen? Mine is black like on iPhone. Is there a way to change this? Because I like the grey one better

    Hello brother,
My Macbook Pro 13 inch (mid 2012) sleep immediately I plug out the power source and it will not on again until I plug in the power, when I plug in the charger, it usually switch on by it self. I try different method such as:
Resetting SMC, PRAM reset. I remove the battery and plug it in again. I finally loose the mother board and fix it back thinking it might resolve the issue but still no result.
Please can you help me check out the issue?
By the way I'm running Catalina
    Thank u in advance!

Just find a good quality battery from a seller that sells computer or mobile phone parts.
Otherwise the other sellers just buy the cheapest ones and resell just to make as much profit as possible.
Try buy oem if you have the money if not aftermarkets are fine.

How do you upgrade ram on it? I was thinking of getting memory cards from OWC

    • @zollotech

If you see in this video, the RAM is just above the battery. All you do is pop it out and put the new RAM in
