    My issue is similar in regards to the paint peeling only though. It's an entryway and I used 45 minute mud to fill holes, sanded, washed the walls, primed any patched areas, sanded, used cheesecloth to collect any dust, and then painted. I don't know where I went wrong! 😫

      I see you didn't get an answer from these guys.....I had similar problem in a living room, in the end I used conctete sealer...it did the job, and two coats later still looks good.

    I've had an experience when I was painting a bathroom and had cleaned the walls with TSP (diluted per instructions), rinsed and allowed the surface to dry overnight. Then, lightly sanded all of the walls with 150 sandpaper and vacuumed, tack clothed every inch of the wall surfaces, masked off, applied 1-2-3 Primer, let that dry for 3 hours and applied my semi-gloss paint finishing coats x 2 with 6 hours between coats and when I went to clean up, I saw a bubble form on the wall. Then, more, and more, etc. I tried to push the area in with the tip of a putty knife and that's when the peeling started. The entire wall had to be sloughed and repainted. This time, I used Zinsser Guardz to prime and it was fine. Why that had to happen, I don't know, but it was a stressful situation since it was the only bathroom and housemates were upset.

    How would u "peel off" the paint from a textured wall? ? ?
    I painted a bedroom 1.5 months ago, and it's very poorly adhered on orange peel textured walls. If I try to peel a section it only comes off in small sections. I used Behr Paint+Primer, and have used it on about 5 previous paint jobs with no problems. I feel the cleaner I used this time possibly left a residue, or that this batch of paint was faulty.
    Is the only true way to fix this to sand down the entire walls texture to remove all of the paint, and retexture/repaint ??

    I have paint peeling off of wallpaper that was previously painted on. I have peeled of all the paint. Should I sand the wall paper down? Or go straight to priming the wallpaper?

    I was wanting to paint the doors in my home after 5 yrs of living here they have started to look rough and I have encountered the same problem when I started to clean and sand the doors the paint started peeling in sheets! It is not latex over oil because I tested the paint underneath and with a little acetone and the paint underneath comes off on my little pad where I tested it !

    I leave directly in the ocean front. Renovating an olf concrete house. INTERIOR Walls have been plastered and some have primer and some sealer...sealer seems to work better. I now have to move to a lower basement.....to start renovating..Should I use the 3 in 1 Berger or should I continue with the sealer?

    • @cheesecakesmellsgood
      @cheesecakesmellsgood Před 2 lety

      Sealer is better. Plaster has to set at least 30-40 days before you do anything with it or bubbles/peels etc are inevitable. If u plan to put wallpaper, doesn't matter which one you choose, but sealer creates more of an even finish that will not show through the wallpaper.

    All of my paint in every room of my HUGE addition can be peeled off due to the plaster being the wrong pH. It will begin peeling if it gets bumped. I've only gotten around to redoing one room of six rooms and two stairways.

    I can understand a bathroom doing this. But what about a living room doing this? Also note I washed the walls and allowed them to dry for two days. Still the paint puckers and peels right off with ease. 🥺

    • @cheesecakesmellsgood
      @cheesecakesmellsgood Před 2 lety

      This happened to me lately. you are probably using latex paint over a water-based paint or greasy walls, like in my case. The chemicals interact badly, the coat underneath moistens up beneath the fresh paint, causing it to lift and peel off. I tried primers, they seemed to cause bubbles and make it peel off even more. What worked in my case was to peel off excess, wash the walls completely clean and apply 1st coat without a primer in an air-ventilated room (windows open), let it dry for at least 2-3 days before applying second coat. It seems like the paint is dry after few hours, but if theres some mush beneath, like old paint or even plain plastering that hasn't dried for at least 40 days, peeling is inevitable.

    • @cheesecakesmellsgood
      @cheesecakesmellsgood Před 2 lety +1

      The other case is that it's peeling off BC it's not dry yet. Someone at the store told me it takes at least 30 days for any paint to completely set in, before it can be touched, washed etc.

    • @lindgrensmaleri
      @lindgrensmaleri  Před 3 lety +3

      Try and remove all loose paint by scraping it off. If there's an area where there's good adhesion, leave it alone and sand the edges down before beginning the painting process.
