We’ll never get tired of looking at old ferds, keep making the vidyas please
With ya 💯👍🤘
And give her the ketchup and let her cheech!!!
That front bumper on it is badass. Crew cab long box are just sexy no matter the make. Keep us informed.
I really like the walk through, regular person troubleshooting. I also like the self taught approach. Fun watching.
If you're doing glow plugs you should also do the injector o rings while you're in there
Yup I would watch more on this truck, thanks for sharing....
* Austin, The surgeon general has determined that Diesel Technically can be hazardous to your Bank Account ! 👊😎👍
Thanks, nice tour of your diagnostics.
A crew cab long box 7.3 with a stout bumper like that will make any man jealous. Just picked up my first shitbox ‘95 f250, she’s got the 351 Windsor but only has 94k miles and a brand new tranny. I became instantly addicted and now need more old trucks. Love the videos.
True that ian, I view these trucks thru green peepers.
BYA, great revival. She probably just needs a highway tune up! Nice clean looking rig wanting some TLC! Cool video!
Hell yeah, two cans at a time..sometimes the good stuff too.
Ha! Awesome and so true.
Love that beast.
My dream truck! Thanks for sharing with us!
Good hard run might work wonders... liking that rig bro!
A good hydraulic shop can make you up a hose and gauge to check the hp oil rail pressure. There's plugs in the hp oil rail right inboard of the valve covers. They are -5 oring boss if I remember correctly. Have them make you up a 1/4" hydraulic hose with a 3000# gauge. Then you can see the hpop pressure in real time with out a scan tool
Looking forward to seeing what's happening umderneath.
I LOVE the style of old fords..great design.
If air got into the heads then a good heavy run up a long hill may be in order to clear it out. After i do a set of injectors on these i gotta take them out and run it hard to smooth it out and get them starting quicker.
Cool video sir , lots of good information here, thanks for posting
enjoying the videos 👍
Pretty darn good video, Sir. Thanks for taking us along for the journey
Never get tired of your video's keep posting we will watch and learn!! 👍👍
I always enjoy all your videos. You always get the girls back to being useful. Please keep these videos going.
What a beautiful truck
I love that aqua color paint on that truck!
Calypso Green
That was pretty interesting .I have a six in row brand new in 92 . rust never sleeps here in Maine
Haha yep, Ol' Peg will give'em all the Cosby sauce. Keep the vids coming bro 👍🇺🇸🤘🔥🔥
Awesome! Would love to see more.
Thanks for showing us more of this one. That is a nice ride!
That truck where i live would go for a lot of money very nice!!
Great video. Really enjoyed it. Keep em coming.
It's a nice looking truck. Cool that it's running again. Thanks for the video 👍🇺🇸
Yes more videos
Stayin tuned! 🤠👍
Another great video. It's sure fun to watch you keeping those old trucks alive.
Enjoyed this keep it coming....
Wish trucks like those were down here I don't want to pay 25000 for a 20 to 30 year old truck
Cry about it, go buy a new truck
@@StoneUFO it ain’t that easy for some folks. Stop voting Democrat and it would be a lot easier to buy.
I payed 400$ for my 7.3 obs service truck. Needs work but it's not too bad.
I watch whatever you work on. Thanks for the videos!🍺
That nice look truck
Blue top dumptimas and a classy front bumper is mint on this one
Clean lookin furd
Getting that truck fixed up. I’m sure you will have it in top shape soon. 👏
I like the look of that truck. I have one just like it, but I like the non metallic paint and steelies on yours
All these sensors make me appreciate the IDI!
The Alaskan Ford Empire!
The new trucks I drive have warnings about ether. Way back, every truck in the fleet had cans in it. The only warning was, get it started if you want a get paid. The crew cab maybe rides nicer because it's longer?
U B 1 Damn good Mechanic!!!
Yes on more PSD content
That was one of the best paint colors you could get. I'm not a Ford fan, but good luck with it. I will be watching from afar!! Lol
Forest service green ?
@@JS.730 I thought it was that turquoise color they came out with in the 70's.
Calypso Green
@@kenuber4014 not sure looks like just a faded fs green old work truck makes sense
@@ZacTexC probably right
Nice old ford powerstokes I love them they are bulletproof as long as they are the 7.3
Yep I want to see more.
Good Job
My 1994.5 powerstroke does a similar thing. It'll start and run good sometimes, but then choke out and die. You can't get it started no matter what you do. It will eventually start back up when it wants to. Both oil pumps and all sensors are new and motocraft.
Yep zip ties is the king lol.
Yes
i love it
If the oil rails in heads loose prime it take awhile of driving it to start properly. My old 95 took about a week of daily driving to start better
I suspect it wasn't just the new Ferd we watch but the Legend unfucking it too.👍🏻
Gotta love manufacturers. "Let's stick complex electrickery and diagnostics on our vehicles!"
30 years later "oh that's not compatible or it's obsolete so piss off and do some electrickery fuckery to get it working!".🤬
Awesome old Ford. Got a name for the green Ford. Mean Green Machine.
Watch the coolant level in it closely also. Ford had an issue with coolant and heads with pinholes developing in the heads.
Definitely new glow plugs.
Before that if keeps running rough. Run it down to about 1/4 tank of diesel. Put a quart of transmission fluid in the fuel tank then fill up with diesel. Old Fed Ex mechanic told me to do that with diesel’s if running rough. Transmission fluid will clean the injectors.
Keep the old Fords coming.
I don't know. The window is cracked and it's got rust on it. Was that diesel soot? must not be any good LOL. Great video and fantastic Truck that construction it has for a front bumper is absolutely 👍. It says "Pull your Prius out in front of me, hee hee!" Good boy God bless 😊
The code scanner I have would work on both as well. Although some does require me plugging into the cig lighter as well. Idk why but that's how I got my codes to pop up
I own its slightly younger cousin...a 1996 F-250 with the 460-CID fuel-injected V-8 gasoline engine. That's Calypso Green !!!
MOAR!!!!!!!!!!🕶🕶🕶🕶
Nice 94! I have a 94 1/2 for sale right now. White, 195k miles. She's a Beast. By the way check your valve cover gaskets on the 350 for shorts on the glow plugs. Sounds like a short on an injector? Keep on truckin man...
As far as my 03 PSD there are certain sensors/parts im willing to cheap out on and some i wont. I use motorcraft sensors for the IPR, CPS and use a bosch fuel pump, Motorcraft glow plugs. Ill use cheap ICP and temp sensors though. Especially since the ICP, alternator are lifetome warranty and o can easily swap them out in the parts store parking lot.
Needa see bro put some fat ol tires on one of these trucks. May not make sense but god damn these trucks look good. Keep the vids comin 🔥
More please 🙏 👍
Keep the videos coming. I have a 97 7.3 litre and want to learn more.
Would like to have seen you remove and replace IPR or at least tighten it to see what was involved. Same with the other ICP.
Yes plz
Ive owned a few of these over the years and when they were sitting for a long time I’d fill the hpop reservoir with oil before I got to cranking. They would fire much faster doing that. I also ran genuine international sensors since that engine was made by them and we had a dealership in town that actually wanted to sell me parts vs the ford dealer who couldn’t do anything for me since the trucks were all over 10 years old 😂
couldnt read the scan code on my van turnd out to be the computor. aftr i threw sensors at it, had throttle body rebuilt, new dist, complete tune up, coil, it runs great now
Could it be related to the temp gauge not working that its running funny? As in computer controlled vehicles the temp sensor not only gives a temp gauge reading but also helps the computer know how hot the vehicle is. I had a fried temp gauge connector piece on a 90s car and it ran crappy especially when hot or wouldnt run at all (like your 7.3)
Watch Wes work has a series of videos that could help w the oil pressure/start issues. Good luck with that power stroke 👍🏻
Mint
The 250 looks so much better than the 350 😋
I think you're on the right track. Run it a bit and see how it goes. Throttle response seems good. I'd be willing to bet you might have an injector oring issue. Truck has low mileage to the point that they have probably never been done. If so it's the old style rings and they were known to fail. Either way it would be a good investment. Keep em coming!
I'm definitely not an expert on neither but mine has been an excellent truck the whole time that I've owned it I definitely think you're going down the right path buddy
I have never worked with this particular type of engine, but other diesel engines.
To me, the hard knock and uneven ignition definitely sounds like a worn / plugged injector problem.
Otherwise, it seems to be a good specimen of this breed you have got hold of.. 😁👍
Hard knock is the mechanical fuel pump or clapped out injectors. Injectors typically last 200k miles or more. Depending on many factors
I'm just waiting on the junkyard boom set up video for this truck.
Check with EGR valve tube or fuel shut off solenoid
AH for the days of mechanical injectors and pony motors.
Another thing that is good to run in those 7.3 is Hotshotsecret stiction eliminator.
I own a 2001 7.3L 6 speed DRW 4x4. Great ruck! Thanks for all the knowledge and tricks. Onward!
Skip - is there something you or others who own trucks with your same 7.3 Powerstroke do to them for better reliability and performance? I've heard some horror stories but I think they all involved the 6.7.
@@wes11bravo The 6.7 has no relation to the previous Navistar engines. That's Ford own design with their in house engineers.
There is a drain back valve in the hpop reservoir that could be sticking slightly open draining the oil back. Seems to take way longer while cranking to build oil pressure than my 7.3
If new scanners can't read the older equipment, are there no period correct scanners advertised?
It's not the scanner it's the ecu on these trucks
Calypso Green🤘🏻
Sounds like a bad oring on an injector, if it will run cold but wont restart hot probably oring related. Also pull the ipr and check the orings on it. Thats the only two places oil will leak and not build the required pressure to start. Also dont run your batteries down, if the cranking gets to slow it wont start as well.
👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Shout out to Peg!
you have a high pressure oil leak always the case with no hot start issues on all huei engines
👍 👍 👍 👍
Check to see if the oil pressure drops in direct proportion to the rpms (higher rpm and lower oil pressure) your injectors could be leaking oil and not firing
Get your self a 6.0 transmission cooler and swap it in there. Will keep that transmission nice a cool and alive
That’s honestly probably just air in the oil when you do injectors or loose hpop prime it takes 50+ miles to get it starting normally. If it continues it’s probably an injector o ring, slow leak over time that when you leave sitting unprimes your hp oil system
Start driving it! Maybe it’s a self-repairing ford!
Injector(s) bleeding off hpop press. Hotshots may help it.
I have heard some other vendors will flash obd2 onto your board. i just bought a '95 f super duty crank no start. diagnosis beginning soon.
based
Auto zone should flash your computer. They do down here (Oregon).
Dude I would kill to find a truck like this in mn
Sweet baby jesus
Have you ever scanned your blue 1994 powerstroke? I have a check engine light on and I can’t figure out how to scan the obd1.
Sorry I watched to the part where you mention the scan issues you are having. I was thinking about seeing if it’s possible to jumper the eec test port and count flashes
