So awesome to see you young guys so invested in reviving these old machines good work and times lads. no doubt in my mind you will make it happen
Brought back some memories of my old 49 Dodge back in the day with the Corinthian leather delete and a mechanic telling me the only warranty I got was " if it breaks you own both halves"
My Dad had a 49 Dodge back in the day also. That was back when families used to do things together. That Dodge took us to a lot of places.
Again some high quality work done by two absolute professionals. 😂
It's always a pleasure to watch you guys doing stuff.
My uncle had one for a while. Back in the early 70s seem like the heater core and fan were under the front seat a good feature in Alaska prevents FREEZING YOUR ASS OFF
You two guys work well together. Enjoyed the banter between you. 👍👍👍👍
Nice. My father bought a 37 Chevrolet sedan brand new in 1937. Sold it in 1953. Brings back memories.
The yard view, an A typical Alaskan yard. Brings back memories. The old Chevy is in pretty good shape for its age and being up there all those years.
In Feb '64 (age 16) I rescued a 39MDL from a local junkyard. Previous owner had removed the running boards, painted the wheels copper and installed "Port a Walls" on the tires. Mine had a vacuum assist shift. I seem to recall either a soft or worn out fuel pump lobe on the cam so an electric fuel pump was installed. Rear tail light lenses were fashioned from a toy - Mattel's vacu-form with a jar cap as the mold. Good luck. Narragansett Bay.
Nothing Is better than wrenching on a car with your friends. Looking forward to seeing it run, keep up the great work.
A good time was had by all!!! Enjoyed watching you guys working together and having fun!!! The trouble with so many folks, they take things to serious!!! Hang in there!!! You all be careful and God bless you and your families!!!! Eddy
Nice job but be careful, the car will be very top heavy now that all that ballast sand has been removed from the transmission. Thanks looking forward to the next video.
Great Start Guys And Great Save a Nice Ride
Good job
I have a glass bowl 1904 on my 223 i6 in a 57 fairlane. They're awesome carburetors.
The algorithm has brought me back to your channel after 8 months (your frozen truck revival video).
New to channel. You will get it running. It wants to live! Good old Chevy.
Man that thing is a awesome rig. Definitely looking forward to more on this one.
A few more Ford parts it'll start up like the morning sun!
Nice fix. We will look forward to it running down the road with the barrels of two Thomson's rattling out a staccato thru the windows.
You fellas are a couple of walking sarcastic comics. Funny As Fuck....... Boi! Lol
Top effort boys!
Well it's a chévy . There's no drought you will get to running just needs some more TLC. Great video.
I like that you actually do no what your doing even though most would think your joking about
Funny Duo!😎👍🏻
nice collaboration good content needed daily driver
diesel may rejuvenate the leather seals. The transmission does have a fourth gear, Alaskan Overdrive. Good effort.
GREAT VIDEO....!
Back yard butchery at it's finest! Nice work fellas.
Onward! One more time!
Absolutely priceless I forgot about these very very important conversations between best friends. You guys know that's all been said before right? Is that a Ford Maverick? I'm going to call my best friend.
cool old ride, try pull or push starting... what we used to do as kids. thanks for sharing
😎Cool car. I've used a bottle jack and a few small pieces of 2x4. A few underneath the Jack cross ways, so not to push floor down and then a longer one to push up and maybe one across shaped to fit the roof to push it in the right direction! 😅 It works! Have fun! 👍
Nice!
Great video guys
Hey guys .hook a bootle of fuel above the carb....hook the beast to a truck and tow....and pop that clutch...your not getting enough engine spin to start...once she starts rolling the rings should reseat, and the head gasket break back in... Tim
I owned a 36 pickup and their version of a one ton flatbed truck.. got my attention to those u joints, a clutch that had some different type of springs to hold stuff in position for the fingers on the clutch working. First year for juice brakes. Lots of first things happening. That 216 engine used shims on the rods for poured babbitt bearings... I learned the hard way about making sure to keep shims with the caps taken from. Mine did come around but several mistakes made by me, a fourteen year old kid then.. that was nineteen sixty three. So my introduction was to a rig only about thirty years of age then. I had to suffer with those wooden door pillars on the A pillar and B pillar... yours at least had steel pillars at this/that time. At this point of the rigs life, does it really matter. This engine will run but for a smooth running.... my knowledge of this is maybe it will but life for it is going to be a short one
It will be running soon 😁
you two are amazing together
could have been 1 hour .
thx
You guys gotta show this old car on the road and what it took to get it there
👍🏻🍻
A push-start would stack that compression until she feels the right fuel-air needs.
"A" for effort, "C-" for wit 😏.
Best video you have done yet, love it !
I got a 1938 house in England. Mostly original including Made in Japan import oak floorboard and staircase. Then came WW2 and everything exploded.
Very cool old car. Wish we had these in Europe. Split front window cars are my fav. American cars.
That rig is ready for Power Tour, if you tow it on a trailer. Its only about 5000 miles from Fairbanks to Tennessee. Derek from Vice Grip Garage can probably help ya from there.
great video guys!
Very cool car, great video!
Good Job guy's. Now are you going to bring this car back to it's former glory? I hope you bring it back original
It’s a Chevy. It’ll run.
those 216 stovebolts are hard to kill. i have a 1937 chevy 1.5 ton that sat since 2006, getting that motor to run was easy asf
how about those dual horns?
I wish you would make more videos ive enjoyed everyone you come out with
westport here.
have fun. every day is thumb up or thumbs down. but is always another one.
You guys needs to make more content like this together
I love it I would make it mechanical safe and leave the rest alone
Spit shine it and start it
Eastwood makes an air hammer attachment for those screws, works mint, Iron Trap garage has a video of using it on off Furds
You guys used to big of words for my intellect. Now I’ll let it slide Dis time.
I hope you video the road trip
We plan to!
Wondering if that Cole is Cole L?
There are a few old wrecked cars over the edge of both the Elliott and Steese Highways if you know where to look.
Seems obvious, but did you find your compression testing equipment.... she sure is a Pretty Cool Car... love them green wheels..
The story’s that Chevy could tell
Pull start it
Hay if nothing else stop on top of a hill and let gravity help and let it roll down hill
Good video. Shame it didn't run.
It ran. Just not fully yet
Those are not oilpan leaks those are Poliish undercarriage rust prevention exits and a oil change saver
Starter smarter who needs a starter ??? Toss a mini bike inn the back in case you need to tow start it THE ALASKAN WAY
If that belt lasts 7 miles forget about 70 I'll take my hat off if I happen to be wearing one
roll me anotherone
😂😂😂👍👍👍
👋🥖🇫🇷
If you get tired of ferrying the kiddos around to soccer games throw them in the back of that puppy next trip, they’ll be begging to stay home.
I can’t imagine that Alaskans paid ANY mind to Prohibition. Am I wrong? Was there illegal alcohol enforcement there just like the rest of the US? I’m sure my Dad’s father didn’t stop during during that time, in Minnesota. I’m 1 gen. older than you guys, and impressed with your abilities.
