Midnight Rollover In The Big Hot Tub

  • Got a late night call about a rollover on Hells Revenge Trail at the Big Hot Tub. Justin and I went out to see what we could do about getting them out. Couldn't wait till morning since I had a play date planned the following day with Lilli. So we headed out with lights to try and record what we could. By the time we got there the customer had stabilized the vehicle with a winch line. After assessing the situation upon arrival we rerigged the jeep holding it and used the wreckers side winch to help pull the wheels back under the vehicle. It ended up being a controlled righting process and managed to do no additional damage to the vehicle. After hauling the vehicle back to the shop, the customer pulled the intake and cleaned oil out of it and started it up and ended up driving it home the following day. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Since I’m certain that you can drive all these trails blindfolded, the night time aspect of this recovery isn’t the impressive part. Hell, I think the TrailMater could do these trails even without a driver! What made me gawk in awe (again!) was the utterly simple solution you applied to get that jeep out. I have commented on another channel that it will depend on terrain ( rock, sand or mud), static ( winching) or dynamic (rope). Matt and Rory do full time recovery with Rory having the advantage of more difficult recovers. They are all mechanically sound but to me Rory and Paul have the best Macgyver skills and with welders and air onboard. Rory, you are like the US postal Service, '...neither sleet, nor snow...' Great job! Another extraordinary video!

Except that Rory probably doesn't take paid govt holidays off... Like the newest "Juneteenth" 😆

I still don't know why people question you and your rig. Thanks for another video to get me through night shift.

My respect for your ability & knowledge of recovery work goes up every video. This one is over the top doing it at night. It is a dang good thing you know the trails like the back of your hand. Thanks for sharing.

Quite the recovery. You probably could have done this easily with your built-in night vision and radar. Thanks for the extra light and camerawork. We appreciate it.

Totally agree with the other comments and there is no one out there that is better at these types of recoveries than Rory. Epic job sir!

This vid reminds me of a scene in one of the tremors movies where Burt gummer gives a status update while driving his deuce and a half at night!

That is one impressive rescue Rory. That looked like a textbook rescue that of course isn't in any textbook. Sometimes Jeeps get tired and try to nap. Looks like the owner did a nice job helping with the recovery as well.

Rory, looks like you've done this once or twice over the years. Back in my repo days, there were a few times I had to be a little creative in extricating a vehicle from a difficult position. This was quite a challenging parking space! Good job!

Makes me smile from ear to ear seeing videos like this. Memories flood my mind of the many times you rescued all of us that were broken down on the trail. Or just out wheeling together. Keep up the great work!!

Running thru the hot tub after dark is a scary thought.
Your skill preserved a lot of potential damage for the Jeep. Looks like she will declare her "independence" and be back on the trails again.

Mater I have a great idea for a video, we have all seen you some of those trail backwards! Now is time for a night time recovery using "NO LIGHTS" just your memory ! it will be great, I just haven't figured out how you would video it, but it would great. That recovery was also great THANKS for taken us along!

Trail mater got more tricks than the batmobile and rory is the man that knows them all. Hope you had a happy 4th to all the crew.
