    My Grandpa told me something years ago that i think applies to this video, and to the difference between Matt and alot of the people he rescues. A lot of people give up and say they are stuck when they can't go the direction they want to. In reality you are not stuck until you cant go anywhere. If you work with where you can go, you may find a different way to get to what you want to go.

    • @MamaJLW
      @MamaJLW Před rokem +20

      I think that applies to just about anything in life. If you work with your abilities and opportunities, you’ll find a way to accomplish what needs to be done or learn what you need to learn or change what you need to change or….. well, you get the idea.

    That was super gnarly. Almost looked like those videos from Windrock this year.
    Also, I have a portable Ryobi air compressor that I recommend since you (and also, I) don't have onboard air. Pretty compact, and on my JL, it airs up four 35s from 15 PSI to 30 PSI in about 15 minutes. One extended battery (4 Ah) will do all 4 tires (tho I always bring two, just in case). I will always throw it in the back any time I think I might want to go off road since having one and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it.

    Small tyre inflation compressors are a thing; maybe you should consider putting one or two in each vehicle in case you need them?
    Also, when you got the Banana basically stuck, I got halfway through saying 'If they don't find some grip there, they're going to need recovery' when I realised you have a winch and can just go full spintires with it.

I made my own winch mount to where I can put it in my rear receiver! But that’s not the suggestion I want to share. I ran a .4 ought cable from my battery to front and rear with a quick connection. That will save you from having to carry a spare battery for the trailer winch. You can make a short jumper to the winch from the cable off the bumper to the winch! If your interested I can send you a video or pictures! Happy and safe towing guys!

    As a guy who has just watched a few of your videos, nice channel, love the colour! Have you ever tried an Volvo C303, also called Tgb11 by the Swedish armed forces? It has portal axles, vacuum assisted locks front, mid and rear. Getting stucked in those is almost impossible. 280/16" tires and all. 7 seats and a big trunk, cab over design and the brickiest Volvo around. The downpart is the thirsty B30 inline 6 from the Volvo 164, 8mpg at 55mph, lowering the speed increases the mpg of course. And as it is an old cast iron engine with valve seats just made in the heads cast iron, it needs leaded fuel or lead replacing addon. Also it loves high octane fuel despite it's measly 112hp. But the terrain capabilitys is out of this world. It's parking brake is a single drum on the back of the gearbox, 4 speed with high and low, as such and with the vacuum locks it is locked in all four wheels as the vacuum is gone and locks engaged when the engine is off. Fwd can be disengaged. It also has a six wheeled twin, but that one is heavily underpowered with the same 3 liter straight 6.
