@@kenrickeason Nope. He’s 1 of the most overrated Players ever. He was Super Dope. I love some T Mac , loved His style , His Game & watching Him play But He’s mad overrated still too My Dude played with a 7’7” HOF and couldn’t get out of the 1st rd. Ever
@@jerrylanary4889 , doesn’t matter. How many times has that been done in NBA history? Like said here in this post, T-Mac was crazy unlucky. He was an absolute beast, but never was on a team with much help. He had help when he first entered the league and played with his cousin Vince and when playing with Yao Ming in Houston. Anything else was pretty much a no go. Imagine if when in Orlando he had the likes of himself, it would have been a done deal. One of the saddest points in his career was when he got to New York and thought that the other players there would do whatever was needed in order to win a championship. They broke his heart when they told him it wasn’t going to happen! T-Mac was one of the best all around players in NBA history. Despite being plagued with injuries during his career, he’s managed to be an elite player throughout his career. He’s also highly revered by his peers, most of which are elite players themselves, i.e. Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neil, Michael Jordan. And the list goes on and on.
Erick Dampier played for the Mavs in 06 when they lost to the Heat in the finals. He then signed with the Heat in 2011... when they lost to the Mavs He was cut from the Heat in the 11/12 season... When they won a championship. This guy is about unlucky as they come
It wouldn’t even take much success for him to get his return value out of that 10% and as an athlete already making money that’s a risk you gotta take. Miss out on 100k that you don’t even need for a possible fortune
@@Jaycxrti I feel u, but back then there were no million dollar contracts. 100k was a lot for them back then. But I still would have taken the percentage too.
To add to T Mac; the story goes that Tim Duncan was ready to sign with Orlando, but Doc Rivers wouldn't allow girlfriends/wives to travel with players, so Timmy gave San Antonio another meeting. Of course, we know the result.
To me, the unluckiest player ever is Elgin Baylor (R.I.P.): he never won a ring with LA, even if he got close (1969........) and he retired a few games of 1971-72 season, the very game the Lakers started the 33W streak (the longest ever in the 4 major Pro sports)
Anderson varejao played for the cavs in the 2015 finals and played for the warriors in the 2016 finals. We all know how tgose finals went. He was also not part of the warriors' roster for the 2017 finals coz he was waived midseason. He still got a ring in 2017 tho
Without MJ, that 10% of Nike stock would not be that significant. From the other perspective, if he used that 100,00$ to buy some stocks of right companies, like Apple or Microsoft, he would have made a billionaire all the same.
@@banana-lm7vg they both had chance to grab a ring when MJ was not around, but the thing didn't go their way. Without MJ, Chuck would face Ewing and Knicks, and Malone would compete with Miller and Pacers, both would be very tough matches. Then Nike had to sign with Chuck to release their "Air Barkley 1"...The logo of "AB"? I don't know man
What can also contribute to Tmac's postseason misfortunes was that when he retired in 2013 (the year where he was close to winning a ring), the Spurs would beat that same Heat team, in dominant fashion, to win it all the following year. ☹️
The Lakers got "lucky" that commissioner Stern didn't want the Kings in the finals so he rigged the WCF for them! Or should I say the Kings were "unLucky"! Smh 🙄
Cool video! I feel bad for T-mac. He use to be one of my favorite nba stars. Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, James Harden and the whole Clippers franchise might end up on this type of list in the near future.
When Vince Carter got tired of playing in Toronto and signed with the Nets after getting into the NBA finals He also signed with the Magic after getting into the finals but they weren't able to reach the finals and signed with the Mavs two after they won a championship but again they weren't able to reach the Finals...and his Farewell tour cut- short because of the pandemic
Haywood still lost out big time, but, I imagine around the time Nike was going to really take off some exec and/or accountant would’ve realized Haywood was making 10% of their gross and would’ve negotiated a buyout. Again for way (way) more than 100k but obviously less than 8.6 billion. He probably would’ve walked away with like 10 million and lifetime of free Nike gear for he and his friends & family!
Bad luck? Add Eddie Jones. Once he got traded away from lakers to start Kobe, they won a champ. When he was in Miami and got traded next season, Miami got one with wade and shaq
If only T-Mac held on for another year with the spurs, he could've won a ring. Kinda like how Michael Finley held out on another year back in '06 and won a ring in '07.
I played rec ball with Brandon Knight and as a kid I always knew he was going to the league, he was THAT nice.. and with his work ethic he deserved it.. dude was an extremely athletic and talented ball player..I wish his nba career played out better for him. But I swear as a kid I seen him do shit on the court I still never seen till this day.. stay up BK🤞
Unluckiest player for me would be Demarcus Cousins. One of the most dominant bigs in the NBA who fell apart because of injuries. Then getting traded to different teams and getting unlucky getting a chance to win championships on competitive teams.
I think I kinda agree about the -luck, or lack thereof- misfortunes of TMac here 5:37.. kinda like having ALL SKILLS, NO LUCK type. So he chose to duo with Grant Hill over Vince Carter. By the way, both also suffer misfortunes - GH and VC - after TM left Toronto. In my opinion, TM and VC forms better duo than GH and TM... A Big What If.. 😔
Also T-Mac was so unfortunate. Imagine being up 3-1 in the first round in 2003, The first year NBA implement the best of seven series at 1st round. Imagine if they did it a year earlier, they should be in the conf. semis.
Don't forget about vince carter literally played in 4 decades yet never came close to winning a championship like bro does he even have any accolades? I cant remember felt bad for him tho he took a lot of shots that should have went in
Anderson Varejao. When they reached the finals vs the Warriors in 2015 they lost and the following year in 2016 he was taken by GSW. Although having the record for the most wins in NBA history at 73, they blew a 3--1 lead in the finals and lost to his former Cavs team.
Hay Cosgrove, i have a theory why the Nets keep lossing to boston in the playoffs i think this was in one of your video's, but do you think that it is suspicious that last year kyrie and James got hurt/injured, then this year they got swept 4-0? do you think lucky Cursed Kyrie in playoffs time??
Sam Perkins went to the finals 91,96,00 and lost all 3 times (twice to Jordan and once by Shaq n Kobe) while his Teammate Eric Snow lost 3x in the finals as well 96,01,07... Anderson Varejo lost 3x in the finals 07 and 15 with Cleveland against gsw then went to GSW and lost with them against the cavs the very next year
Hey cos can you do a video on Kevin ware the guy who had probably the worst NBA injury in in the history of the league and who he was before this injury and where is he now
As a Tmac fan, his loses hurts. It's just too bad. I think Tmac, skills wise, can fight toe to toe against the best like Kobe. But because of injuries, badlucks in a team, he was stuck and never tasted glory like the rest of his peers.
One huge thing to learn. You be skilled and badass but if you can't play as a team and make the right plays at the right time you will always lose in the end. If your skilled more than others be a true leader. Meaning be humblem you are only human like the rest of your team even if your more skilled. At the end of the day, you can't do everything alone, and you will get tired.
Tracy McGrady has no one to blame but himself. He was drafted by Toronto who had Vince Carter. They were a phenomenal duo for a short time but McGrady left and we see how that ended up.
Not to mention that tmac in 2000 playoffs got swept by NY then demanded a trade to Orlando. The very next year 2001 playoffs raptors def. the same NY in playoffs. Lol.
Man that hurt when tmac walked out of the interview. That was a deep cut

This is literally Anderson Varejao.
He played for the warriors also

Hindsight really is 20/20 for the Spencer Haywood situation. He couldn't have known that the company would grow so big.

Doc Rivers is a clown for that. What’s the harm of letting the players wives travel with them?
Doc rivers being terrible like usual

Well its really tmac elgin is the greatest player 9 trips is good 2nd best team 9 times tmac never came out of the first round see the difference
I'm pretty sure they gave him a ring for that year
Anderson varejao played for the cavs in the 2015 finals and played for the warriors in the 2016 finals. We all know how tgose finals went. He was also not part of the warriors' roster for the 2017 finals coz he was waived midseason. He still got a ring in 2017 tho
Anderson Varjao was when the cavs when they lost to the warriors in 2015
He then signed with the warriors and lost to the cavs in 2016
What's Worst, Tmac retired after they lost to miami but the next year. The Spurs Won the Championship

Chris Paul is very unlucky..
Tmac and Penny are two of the unluckiest. Tmac was coming for Kobe's head in his prime. And Penny was going to be something special.
What can also contribute to Tmac's postseason misfortunes was that when he retired in 2013 (the year where he was close to winning a ring), the Spurs would beat that same Heat team, in dominant fashion, to win it all the following year. ☹️
