The friend Ron/Metta was talking about was this kid named Lloyd Newton. I'm from the same neighborhood and remembered going to his wake when I was around 9 years old(40 now) He was only like 16, 17...this hit the neighborhood hard. I actually forgot about this until he recounted the story. Wow

we used to play artest and odom seperately in upstate ny in the early 90's the city teams are cheaters they get together their allstars for playoffs and they are 16 in 8th, 9th grade.
A “hit” isn’t, roughing somebody up. If there’s a hit out on you, it’s to kill you. It’s what he gets for trying to blackmail someone. Shaq didn’t want the guy dead, he wanted that video, and other dude said there wasn’t one. So they thought he was lying and kidnapped him to get the to get the location of said tape. Once they truly believed there was no tape, they let him go. I’m sure they had Shaq on the phone, speaker phone probably. Because Shaq said to let him go, he couldn’t say Shaq did it directly, so he softened the blow and said he “…thought Shaq was behind it.”
