One matchup I always wanted to see was a healthy Tmac/Yao Rockets vs Kobe/Shaq Lakers. That was anticipated the entire Lakers run from 2000-04 but injuries killed it.
Yea T-Mac/G.Hill vs Shaq/Kobe would've been a thing in the Finals every year from 01-04 if G.Hill didn't get hurt. Wish we would've gotten to see that. The ultimate what if matchup though is if Jerry Krause hadn't broken the Bulls up 2 years too early. The Bulls would've beaten the Spurs in the finals in 99 then the Bulls would've faced the Lakers in the finals in 00 and we would've gotten to see a 36 year old MJ vs a young 21 year old Kobe. Since Kobe was so young and MJ was a couple years older it might have been close to a pretty even matchup between the two, Kobe was young, inexperienced but very athletic and skilled, MJ would've been a bit slower, less athletic but very wise and experienced on the court. Another good what if matchup would've been Kobe vs Shaq when they split up and Shaq went to Miami. If they would've met in the finals it would've been huge, but Kobe had no help during those years.
@@Cameron_Caron Doubtful Bulls make the 2000 finals. Pippen would have been gone, Rodman fell off a cliff. Jordan would have aged out of being a top-5 player.
MJ's Wizard years doesn't bother me anymore. I used to feel the same way that he should have not come back, but his stint in Washington gave us a glimpse of how good MJ was. He torched a lot of 2000's player using only fundamental and iq. Imagine what an athlethic and prime MJ could do in the 2000's era!
My only problem with Jordan’s Wizards years is that it dropped his ppg career average. But really and truly it didn’t even matter, because even with his 2 low scoring years he still managed to have the highest ppg average for a career
@@suntansuperman26 I used to never understand why people criticized MJ for having a low career average, I would be like, are these people blind or stupid, he averages 20 and above at age 39-40, thats so amazing, then I started to realize MJ averages 30 for his career, so averaging 20 is a big deal for him, despite me using 20 ppg as a way of saying someone made it to all star almost superstar role, but for MJ thats a considered a monumental drop, thats how good he is
@@suntansuperman26 Let's be honest. People would have amped up criticism with or without his Wizards years. Fans today are lazy thinkers. They either find a hole to poke in his career. Or they crap on his competition to downplay his accomplishments.
Great work. But I’m surprised you didn’t bring up the fact Jordan retired a season before lebron joined the nba. We were close to seeing Jordan vs lebron
When Bob Costas said that line in 1998, no one on that year would knew that MJ will return as a Wizard. We all thought that the Game 6's shot was his very last shot in the NBA.
I remember Powerade or Vitamin water commercials pushing for a Kobe-Lebron finals in 09......when the Finals were set, they replaced Lebron with Dwight Howard in the commercial....
Bob Costas a well known MLB fan boy having to announce MJ's last Bulls game was a horrific travesty! It should've been Marv Albert but he was in legal trouble at the time! 😤😭
The Mikal Bridges pick came from Phoenix from the Steve Nash- Lakers trade. So it was kinda like not trading the pick to the sixers in the first place.
It’s crazy to think that if wade waited 1 more season to retire and took a vets minimum, the heat could’ve actually won that finals series because of his experience and leadership
In 1995 Magic Johnson came out of retirement and retired right after the season ended. A couple months later the lakers signed Shaq and traded for a kid named Kobe
its good he came back he proved to me something I always questioned him about if he can ball in the 2000s when the game has changed, and he dominated most of the top defensive guys or major top guys we see there or those drafted in the early 2000s, those guys would become major in late 2000s and early 2010s
Am I the only 90s kid who doesn’t care for Mj ? When he came back I found it arrogant like he just trying to steal the limelight for those last 2 seasons.
@@theonlygoodonehere2259 The rumor is that he came back because former commissioner Stern had promised him an ownership stake in the Wizards for doing so but then reneged. That's messed up on the late Stern's part if it's true.

Hello Cosgrove I'm a huge fan. I just realize that Lebronto is not the only thing but also consider Lebranta because Atlanta couldn't pass Lebron James all though out his career. Hope you notice keep up the good content ☺️💪
Imagine if the Cavaliers took their time with Lebron seriously and handled the Delonte West situation professionally and Lebron never left Cleveland, because he did EVERYTHING for them and they kept secrets from him..... talk about TOXIC!

I'll never forgive the Cavs for losing in 2009 and costing us a LeBron versus Kobe finals matchup.

Yep, the Magic in 2009. Sorry about those free throws.
What a greay day!
Also 2011, closest thing we couldve seen kobe vs lebron 2nd chance
But dallas never let it happen again

2009 is probably the reason Dwight was excluded from the top 75.
Ayooo I haven't ever been this early to a Crossgrove vid
We really wanted a kobe vs lebron match-up in the 09 finals
Bridges going to Philly looked like tampering and they had to trade him to avoid that
