The only thing worse then the sychophantic, uber casual, Conor "fan" is the one who refuses to acknowledge the impact he's had on the sport. I'm no particular fan of Conor, nor do I view him as one of the greatest fighters in this sports history. However, I'm fully willing to give credit where it's due. Conor will undoubtedly be remembered as, quite possibly, the most polarizing figure in UFC history. He was able to captivate an audience that may have never associated itself with MMA. He's brought eyes to the sport, has attained a level of success once thought unattainable. You don't have to like the guy to appreciate his contributions. Sorry so long winded. Just rambling.
Hes probably the greatest featherweight of them all beat aldo when aldo was unbeaten and beat max Dustin to name a few ,hasn't been the same outside featherweight apart from Eddie at lightweight, he was a great featherweight who was better than him at featherweight?
I do agree with you, but unfortunately, he also became the man who started the transformation of UFC into something like WWE. Talking shit and selling fights is slowly becoming more important than being a great sportsman and a true champion.

But Conor lost me during the lead up to the Khabib fight.. seriously, he was lost on something else.. the evil dollar has devoured him... Khabib shows how a true champion and gentleman handles fame and fortune..
If you think he avoided damage in the first round you have no understanding of how grappling works. There’s a reason Khabib wraps your legs and puts his head and shoulder into your diaphragm..to disrupt your airflow and keep you unable to get oxygen..it works so effectively it’s scary.
Just because he avoided damage does not mean the grappling of Khabib was ineffective. It was effective in regards to tiring Connor out but ineffective in regards to gaining khabib any significant damage
