No, Michael Clarke, it's not at all ridiculous. Russian history teaches us that the Wagner Group now have only two choices: flee Russia or fight against Putin. Russian purges are infamous, and none of those in Wagner will be given the benefit of the doubt if they fall into the hands of Putin supporters. Also, these are hardened mercenaries who would likely take out several regular Russian soldiers each. Can the regular Russian military afford to lose at least (probably a lot more) 50 thousand regular soldiers in a civil war? What will be the reaction of regions that really want out of the Russian Federation, on seeing this?

So if the war keeps going on or if Russia gains territory, not only will there be continuing inflation on grains, but there will shortages too. Although popcorn shortages will be a luxury issue for the west. Worse for the developing nations who need the corn and the cornflour for their citizens not to starve.

From the clip I have seen, Putin wasn't "pretty angry" -- he was in a panic. Watch the video of Putin's address and mute the audio. Notice how he speaks a *few* words at a time, then pauses to draw breath, before continuing to complete the sentence. That is a signal of someone lacking composure and about to panic.
Michael Clare thinks, in error, that this personal battle between Prigozhin and Putin is framed by the amount of military support each wields. As one simple counter example, Putin has been paranoid over threats to his life expectancy since Feb 2022, and can only wonder if or when his personal security decides to change sides and end his reign.
