The small moments in this book were the most meaningful, really like Batman's inner monologue in this. Kinda crazy but the art of Batman's physique in this inspired me to lose 100lbs and get into bodybuilding.
Shame you gained all that weight back this year, Mike. You really let yourself go.

Its always amazing how long it takes Batman to find out who the new bad guy is, especially because the brand new super-villain always appears right when a long lost previously unheard of friend/relative/girlfriend also coincidentally comes into Batman's life.
Hush is a good example for Comic Book writers to think out the ending better and ahead of time.

I thought _Heart of Hush_ was a much more interesting take on the Tommy Eliot character. Paul Dini is the only writer to make him a compelling villain in my opinion.

Paul Dini is so underrated. The guy is probably my favourite Batman writer of all time.
@@HOTD108_ He's definitely up there for me. Most people remember Dini for his work on Batman: TAS, but his run on Detective Comics was fantastic.

Honestly, I actually really liked it. I think it's by far the weakest of Loeb's big three Batman stories (Long Halloween, Dark Victory, Hush), but I still dig it.

Other than the animated series and The Long Halloween, this is one of the least head-scratching versions of the Riddler. Good luck, Paul Dano.

Minor detail, I'm pretty sure Lex Luthor was president during the time so guys like Joker and Two-Face are backed by Lex. If I remember right.
President Luthor is where Ivy got the Kryptonite to control Superman. Riddler told Batman he had enemies in high places.

thomas elliot's dad was also an abusive drunk and his mother did nothing about it.
In fact, Thomas had the most interesting background in any villain of Batman and possibly in any media, he is unable to feel LOVE, that is the reason REAL because he hate Batman, Bruce can feel love and all time he has people that kind at his side, thomas never had nothing, Thomas try with Poison Ivy, Peyton Riley even an girlfriend of Bruce Wayne where he make love with her and days later he kills her throw her of an yacht, in any of this moments he cant feel good feelings, he is a Psycho by his father
That is the real problem and why he become in the monster that get broke the batman's morale something that even joker no succeed
I LOVE so much this character because Joker and Batman only live in a kindgarden compare to Hush(joker only had a bad day, hush live in an bad day all time, Batman only lost his parents and even they gave him LOVE), Thomas bit in the life even if there was nothing left to make him feel human, so so sick and dark character
I think the only thing Thomas is looking apart envying Bruce Wayne and his life is try feel love

Yeah i loved the book but not an absolute favorite probably in my top 10 but only because of the art don't get me wrong i loved the story also but i mainly look at art and if the art wasn't so good then i don't think it can even compare with Dark Victory and Long Halloween even though they still a lot better

Batman's issues with Huntress are that A. She's doesn't take orders. B. She's willing to kill. C. She tends to be angry and impulsive like Jason Todd, and given what happened to him, he doesn't want to go thru that again.

Hush plan wasn't to kill him, his plan was to drive Batman crazy and throw him into Arkham. It would have worked but when he fix Harvey's face Harvey became good and double crossed Hush.
Hush was the storyline that got me back into reading comics. The art, Batman vs a sizable portion of his rogue’s gallery, and let’s not forget the unforgettable cover of Batman choking Joker and then beating him to a pulp inside! ….the animated movie makes me so angry.
I loved hush but it has some flaws. some plotholes are never explained but still very good. I'd give it 8/10
The next DC book you should do is Batman Court of owls!

Later it was revealed that it was actually Jason in the graveyard and he had been ressurected a few years eairly around the time of Infinite Crisis by one of Superboy-Prime's dimention shattering punches. This is the reason he looked older and his fighting style was different, he had spent those years training. He later switched places with Clayface though.

as much as i've enjoyed Hush for the art, the plot is really wonky.
His other books are really good but I swear I'm the only one who prefers the dark victory to the long Halloween
So a guy at a comic store was talking to me about this. He said that Hush's motivation is rooted in chess, which he used to play with Bruce. He figured out who Bruce was and wanted to one-up him. Still weak, but it's better motivation that what was given.
Riddler told him his identity. Tommy didn't figure it out. His motivation is weak but that's the point of Tommy or atleast when he is written correctly. He isn't supposed to be sympatheitc or tragic or have this epic backstory. He is a simple what-if for Bruce Wayne. A selfish rich kid who despised his parents and wanted them dead but one survived and smothered him. Tommy is a sociopath and insane , his reasoning isn't supposed to make sense to us. He is also highly neurotic. Paul Dini writes Hush way better than Loeb.

I enjoyed reading Hush. I thought it was an enjoyable read, although that may be because the art was so damn gorgeous. Also on a side note, Jeph is currently writing the new Nova series at marvel which is supposed to be great, and they named the new nova after his son Sam Alexander. Also on another side note, here is my obligatory comment about Ultimatum and how you need to talk about it more in depth. Mainly because it think the format of this show really lends itself to a crappy event like that. Other events you should try: Death of the Family (although i know that Ben and Ethan may be making there way through the current batman series), a summary of Invincible, Kingdom Come, Y: The Last Man, and The DC Crisis's. Finally i leave you with some Off the Rack suggestions: Ms Marvel, All-New X-Factor, Hawkeye, and The Flash.

in the movie version they made the riddler Hush instead of Elliot which I wasn’t a huge fan of at first but after watching this vid…man that was actually a good call. Not my favorite animated Batman movie but still worth a watch in my book.
