Good fun and very informatively done, Carl. I think it's great that you always make sure to give everyone the pros and cons and don't sugarcoat anything. It's a fun looking prelim!

Thanks Rubén! I call it like I see it! These definitely are not for everyone but for those that enjoy process stuff, I find them quite fun. Could even luck out and get something with a little more detail. Some of the prelims from some of the crazier stories like Metal & Death Metal where there is so much action, the prelims tend to be really tough and I decipher without comparing it to the published page.

pretty cool prelim, and a fun unboxing. I don't think this type of mystery product is for me personally as I would honestly likely re-sell and would rather leave the opportunity to a hardcore Capullo fan - id rather take a shot at the CAL Mystery sketch next time and get something more finished even if its unpublished, but i havent done that yet technically either. there's something about not knowing exactly what art I'm buying that has been a mental barrier so far I guess. but like you said to each their own and it's good info for anyone else considering getting the next one

Chalk me up as one of those hardcore, will buy any book Capullo does because I love the art so much types so even though i personally don’t love a mystery, I feel confident it’s going to be from something I’ve read and am familiar with. I still find myself on the fence when it comes to the CAL Mystery sketches. Lots of great art is produced during that event but it’s still at a price point where I’d rather sink money into a targeted commission from any of the artists that impress me from that event. Fun to see, but still not for me is where I land there. Ahh the beauty of choice on where to spend our money right? It’s one of the great things about this hobby, no two collections are the same, unlike say a Marvel Legends toy collector who is a completest or a Vintage Star Wars collector, those collections end up looking similar.

Sweet pickup! I’ve tried a few times a couple years ago. Never got one. Kind of gave up. May try again. Any suggestions for securing one?

It honestly used to be much more difficult because it could pop up on any day of the week. Now that it’s only Monday, the chances are better. If you really want to go after one, just check the site often on Monday’s. Outside of that & dumb luck, there really isn’t much of a strategy I know of. Good luck!!

how does one sign up for a grab bag? is there a newsletter?

@@patman01 It’s not something you can sign up for. They list one every Monday at a random time so there is certainly a big element of luck involved. Here is the link to the grab bag page www.capulloart.com/product/grab-bag?v=920f83e594a1
