A very nice gesture indeed. Yes, when you haven't been in the hobby all that long, it's all about the art, the art, the art. But eventually you realize that it's the people we meet and the friendships we forge that matter most. Well said as always, Carl, and happy 52nd birthday to you, Tommy!

It’s all part of being able to get the most enjoyment out of the hobby!

Wow what a nice gift! It's a nice color guide for sure. I like how the beige dust clouds and buildings and the green foliage are reflected in the armor as well as the yellow of the headlights -- it's very clear that the car is barreling toward Steel. Kalisz did a really nice job! Glad that you and Marvel Fan got to meet! It's one of the coolest parts of the hobby.

Gesture aside, agreed, it actually is a nice example of painted work! I took swipes at the movie but their comic does contain some solid work!

pretty cool color guide!! super nice of Tom!, happy birthday to him. been enjoying color guides and color pieces more in general in recent years myself. and i def like what you said about the true best part of the hobby , we all get stuff for our collections as collectors , but the friendships and people are what keep you in it in the longterm. i got on social media for the hobby about 7 years ago for the same reasons, wasnt going to run into many comic afficionados in my daily life and needed a way to connect with other people about it - definately have made some great friendships and thats better than any single piece or collectible for sure. thanks for sharing Carl!

For all the crap the internet gets (justifiably so), the connecting of like minds when it comes to collecting and appreciating comic art has been a wonderful thing!

That’s great Carl. He deserves to get lots of Steel art in return from everyone!

Great video! Happy to see you talk about Steel a bit, also was a big fan back in the 90's. Such a cool bit of art too!

Thanks my friend! Full suit of armor and swinging a giant hammer? I’m in! The movie still gives me a good chuckle (even though I don’t think that was their intended reaction) 😂

Those Color Guides have been very underapreciated for to too long. They are a great part of the process and are great for collectors to pick up at reasonable prices in comparison to the original peices. Really a great gift

@@comicjourney They really are an affordable way to get your hands on a actual hand painted piece that was part of the production process. They also look great framed and on a wall!
