This episode reminded me of a quote from Tony Evans who said "If you are a believer today, the only hell that you will ever experience will be the hell you get in this life. If you're not a believer today, the only heaven you're ever gonna experience is the heaven you get in this life." - Very powerful episode! Excited to see you touch on the Church in more detail soon because it's very easy to give yourself up to power. Especially when Satan's timing seems better than Gods own timing.

Yes!! You hit the nail on the head about the very same stories of perversion, abuse, assault, injustice also showing up in too many church setting as well - diluting the power and peace of being in relationship with God. When the church itself turns away from justice, integrity and love - it’s no wonder people get turned away.

But I also agree: ministry leadership is so so hard. Being a worship leader, choir leader, pastor, deacon, etc - it is so so difficult. Because you must be held to a higher scrutiny and standard that honestly not many can carry. And not all are called to. We must pray to know if we are called to it; and if so, how to honor God in it and be upright.

Another good one!! And congrats on the school! 😄
Also so much confirmation. Careful, careful, careful that you don't trade the Lord for your idols. It's a gradual thing.

      So true
so gradual that we must be absolutely intentional to guard against it. So important to stay in the Word and receive the help of the Holy Spirit.

Every day people speak of "God this", "God that", "Lord this", "Lord that", "Spirit this" & "Spirit that" but what God, Lord or Spirit(s) are people REALLY tapping into. EVERYTHING has a name, words matter & they carry meaning & power. The vague language also allows evil to thrive in plane sight, it's IMPERATIVE to be specific about the God, Lord & Spirit you speak of because there are MANY & we all don't know everyone's hearts especially those of celebrities. No matter how much we value their work & talents, we don't know them people & who they ACTUALLY pray & sacrifice to.

The more you repeat the sin, the less apologetic you tend to be. Even back in the Israelites day, they went thru the ceremonies, but they weren’t truly sorry. Ppl are performative and often act based on feelings. They have no desire to improve and often quickly go back to their old ways. I don’t believe Christ can truly forgive sins if we refuse to turn away from it. This is why consequences are important. A certain amount of pain, suffering, discomfort and loss can give us perspective if we allow it to. It can push us to make different choices. So often ppl just apologize to try to escape the consequence, not because they actually see the errors of their ways. I find the words to usually be very empty. The best apology is changed behavior, but that’s rare. The reality is the world is only going to get worse, more set in its destructive ways, and cold. But there are a few for whom the word of God matters, He won’t leave us, there is a peace of mind only He can give in the midst of all the darkness and confusion. I pray that everyone here will be able to experience true salvation in this life and the next.

So happy to hear the updates about the school in Ghana! Glory be to God!
Also COURTNEY! I love the way you answered the dilemma! Moral of the story: stand on the business that pays you, period!
“We’re not a generation that lacks talent or knowledge, we’re a generation that lacks wisdom and fear of the Lord.” 🎯
WHEW! A very heavy and necessary topic!!! The normalization of perversion is killing us as a society, I’ve seen it rob me of purity in my own soul and been fighting for my life to be cleansed from it. Whhheeewwww!!!

I'm really enjoying this series (not sure if it's a series though 😂) of episodes you both have been releasing on the evil and demonic things that have been happening in the world. As you stated, it comes down to repentance and seeking to know the truth. Because if you don't care, you don't care and these evils will continue. Repent, y'all, repent 😂 (laughing but very serious)!!!
I was very much blessed by this episode, loved it. Matthew 7:13-14

They don’t want to give up sin because of what they’re afraid to lose. Their possessions and flesh are more important than God. A God they can’t see or that they can even acknowledge is real. A lot of isolating, disheartening, painful experiences have come with being a Christian for me. Because most ppl have no interest in the lifestyle or beliefs. They want the comforts of their sin and often vilify God and anything that stands for him. How many men have said “you’re going to die alone” to me or other women who abstain while dating. How often is the concept of grace misconstrued for ppl to try to manipulate the church to accept secular practices or allow toxic ppl to stay in our lives? Or ppl who call Christians repressed, boring, preachy, etc for having boundaries and not being here for entertainment? I know there Christian communities all over, but the communities are still in minorities. There’s unfortunately not many men. And many church appeal to culture more than God’s word.

I don’t argue/continue discussions w folks who aren’t religious or getting to know God on these topics, because it often goes nowhere. Ppl will not see what they don’t wish to see. Most have been exposed to the truth and had multiple chances to repent, make different choices. All humans prefer what’s familiar to them, even if it’s destructive. The longer we do it, the harder it is to change. Therefore, most ppl just give into sin. It’s easier and does have its temporary pleasures. It’s easier to have negative emotions and put hate in the world, than to love others. Ppl wouldn’t sin if it didn’t feel or look good in the beginning. Most ppl are also drawn to sin out of social acceptance. They want to belong and the benefits. Esp if it means less effort on their end. And when there’s no immediate consequence, or it’s hidden, ppl think they’ve gotten away with it and grow bold in their sin. “Everyone else is doing it, so I might as well
” Their hearts harden and the holy spirit leaves them after being ignored so long. The problematic behaviors become normalized and the sense of right and wrong becomes irrelevant to the person. They get to a place where they can’t even tell the destruction they’re causing themselves or others
or they may enjoy hurting others. Some ppl truly want to watch the world burn.

17:55 I would be that pragmatic friend and point her to a financial counselor. Things happen, but I don't understand how people can be so irresponsible with their money, let alone thinking about luxuries like getting professional hair services when they need to be focusing on getting out of their financial rut
