Hiking To The Hollywood Sign With Sticker

The sign was originally built in 1923 as HOLLYWOODLAND and was refurbished and shortened to HOLLYWOOD in 1949 (not 1941 as I wrongly said in my video). The original 1923 sign acted as a sales tool for the neighborhood of homes just below it.
There was a sister sign named OUTPOST which also acted as a sales tool for the neighborhood below it. To see that story see my video entitled Two Obscure Hollywood Landmarks.
