Oh my gosh, I ate bread and gravy all the time when I was a kid and still do. My mother used to make open faced roast beef and gravy with the left over roast. She'd put two pieces of bread cut like triangles on the plate, spread them out a little then put a big scoop of creamed potatoes in the middle, then smother it with gravy. oh I just loved that so much...ymm
So glad you introduced me to Amish Farm Soap. It is all I ever use and I never have poison ivy rash anymore and bee sting dermatitis is disappearing each day. You are a gift from God and Jesus blesses us every day.
My mother was from south Alabama, Red Level and my aunt lived in Andalusia for 50 years. I NEVER saw them make gravy with water.😊

Beef Roasts are so expensive in Iowa right now, over $20 for a 3 lb Chuck Roast here in SW Iowa.

When chuck steaks go on sale for $3.99, I ask the supermarket butcher to cut me a 4-in piece to make the roast.

I have never cooked a roast in gravy, I make it afterwards. I do like to brown my roasts first though.

17:11 I just bought that soap based on your recommendation, Brenda. It arrived at my front door this morning at 5 a.m. !! It was delivered by Amazon. It smells so nice. I was just diagnosed with cellulitis on my leg on Friday. I'm on antibiotics. You have to keep your skin very clean. This benzonite clay that you spoke about made me want to give it a try. I started using this soap and I had very itchy skin couldnt find nothing to stop my skin from itching I even was taking medication for my skin when I heard about this soap on Miss Brenda's cooking show i bought some of this soap me and my husband started using this soap we both love it my skin stopped itching and I am not taking the medication any more. This soap is fantastic and we wash our hair in it too just make sure you use conditioner afterwards. ❤❤❤❤❤

I make a Dublin Roast starting off that way where are you salt and pepper and flour the roast and brown it on all sides. Then I put it in the crockpot and chop up two onions and add a cup of ketchup and put it on top of the roast and cook it in the crockpot for several hours until it gets tender. My sweet sister told me how and her mother-in-law who is full blooded Irish told her how to make the Dublin Roast.❤❤❤

I've always cooked my roasts a much lower temp like 325.

As a picky child about all I would eat.
BENTONITE CLAY IS GREAT FOR SO MANY THING! Everyone needs to keep a bag/jar. Great to pull out slivers, infections, zits, put on bug bites and stings. I use it to make my homemade toothpaste and deodorant, ... and the list goes on.
I got 8 wasp stings on my neck at one time, about 9:30pm. Ran into the house and made a little a bentonite clay paste, covered the wounds with the clay paste, put plastic over it and by bed time, not even a spot on my neck. DO NOT MIX IT IN A METAL BOWL, NOR USE METAL MIXING SPOONS AND NO TAP WATER. USE FILTERED OR DISTILLED WATER.

years ago an older lady i worked with told me about Jewel weed,grows along creeks,springs,fresh water streams! The flower on it is very pretty! But Jewel weed will clear up dermatitis, poison ivy oak other plant allergy reactions quickly!! I have found out it is in the Touch-me-not plants!! Berts bee company used to have a soap with it in it but i haven't been able to find it in a long time.

I make a Dublin roast that my sister taught me how to make years ago. I browned it like you do in the skillet after I put flour and salt and pepper all over it. Then I put it in the crockpot and cover it with a mixture of onions chopped and catch up. And then I let it cook in the crockpot until it’s tender. It is so yummy! Happy Fourth of July everybody. Sounds good. I have a small chuck roast in freezer. I'll have to get it out.
I sear my pork chops and then I make gravey and put the chops in gravy and let them cook in the gravey and finish cooking the chops and it's so good my husband always wants them that way and if I want my gravey a little browner I put a dash of kitchen bouquet in the gravy and it's really good. It's called smothered chops
