from my experience - nobody knows what restoration work is. They would ask us if we restored cars. Do you think adding "restoration" is worth it? We started a company that had fire and water in the title of it, so that it was more obvious what we did.

Yes, having restoration in the name is relevant. To your point, having water and fire is also relevant.
Whatever they may search for is what you would want to have in the name.
The best would be Acme water and fire damage restoration
      Make sense?
All that said, having water and fire may be good enough. Just saying that having more is better than less.
      Hope that helps

@@TheRestorationContractor Totally makes sense. I really enjoy your videos by the way. We're outfitting our first Transit and copying your layout from your video about your vehicles. Keep the content coming!

I live just outside of a larger city. My GMB would be different than the larger area i would like to serve. Would i use the larger city in my name or the one that's going to be in my GMB address?

I would use the name of the city that is on your mailing address.
That would normally indicate the actual suburb you live in vs the larger metro area
People want to do business with people as close as possible, not the metro area.

    Hello,
How are you doing? Could you please create a video of the location at 7203 Lincoln Heights Court, Richmond, Texas, United States? If you could also make a video on how to sketch such a roof in Xactimate, I would be thankful to you.
    Thank you!

I live in Knoxville. Been researching this industry for a year. I wanted to ask in Knoxville population of around 200k there are 23 companies that provide this service. I understand competition is good, but it appears we are saturated in these type companies. Do you suggest to not add another one or is this normal?

Knoxville is a great market. Most companies offer an average service at best. Every market is in need of winners. There are very few winners out there. I could go to any market in the USA and launch a company (assuming there is population of 100k people)
Whatever you do, you need to be one of the best!
Do that and everything is fine.
      That help?

@@TheRestorationContractor Thank you! It did help. I am leaning towards a franchise but don’t know. A lot of mom pops here.

Rookie question brother - Just starting out, and I'm wanting to focus on getting the water out, but not offering the reconstruction of damaged materials. Would this still be restoration? I.e. "water damage restoration" can primarily focus on getting things dried and nothing else? Thanks again.
