  • After running my restoration company for over a decade, we made millions but also lost a lot due to some major mistakes.
In this video, I share the biggest blunders we made and how you can avoid them in your own business.
Here's some insight on what we'll discuss:
đŸš« Mistake 1: Focusing on procedures too early. When you're just starting, your main goal should be getting and completing jobs, not documenting processes. Focus on getting consistent work first!
đŸš« Mistake 2: Taking on jobs just to keep your team busy. This often means accepting less profitable, more troublesome jobs. Instead, focus on getting the right kind of work that benefits your business.
đŸš« Mistake 3: Spending too much time on emails and to-do lists. Prioritize your tasks and focus on the most impactful activities, especially those related to sales and marketing.
đŸš« Mistake 4: Hiring quickly and holding onto bad hires for too long. Remember, hire slow and fire fast to maintain a strong company culture.
đŸš« Mistake 5: Hiring addicts or thieves. These issues can bring significant problems to your business. Be cautious and thorough in your hiring process.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to fine-tune your operations, this video is packed with practical insights and strategies to help you succeed.

I’ve definitely made my fair share of mistakes! But I’ve learned from them ! That counts.

My biggest mistake is taking jobs that I don’t want to keep cash flow!

Holy shit man. I’m a year in. Joined your program the first month. I’ve made all these mistakes and have learned from it within the first 9 months (not the addict tho, lol learned that with my flooring company). It’s just so hard getting these plumbers. It’s so competitive in ATL but I guess everywhere is, let’s just be honest
$1500-$2000 for most plumbing outfit and it’s about impossible to get my foot in the door. I have a few old school guys and they are my bread and butter
they don’t even care about the money but it might only be 1 lead every 2 months
. Google marketing spending thousands a week is painful too. That’s the hardest part getting the damn job, its a savage market. -Jeremy Paz

@@jeremypaz800 where do most of your leads come from?

Honestly word of mouth because I’ve had a flooring company for 15 years and just got into this side of it. I get a few from LSA and lead companies but they are crooks. I get a few through a google ads campaign but i spend 10-12k a month to only get maybe 4 decent ones a month, google ads suck too bc a lot of bullshit calls come from it. I’ve hired multiple marketing companies and it’s the same thing

Yeah, you just have to crack the plumbers. You can do it though!
I can have my team connect us to see what is going on with you...

If you put all your eggs in the plumbers basket you will eventually find out how fickle they can be and their loyalty is sketchy.I would advise you build a budget friendly advertising campaign. In some states paying plumbers for jobs is illegal.

What part of Florida? I keep hearing how unique the FL market is. Hyper competitive and insurance is a challenge. Given this market would you focus more on mold?

I'm in the Sarasota area (just south of Tampa)
Everyone thinks their market is unique. Now that I am here I can confirm that Florida I would approach Florida just like I would in any other state.

How long should a company be paying for leads?

You will most likely always have to pay something. Unless it’s from an agent.
