Totally agree with the comment about the need for a WRT/ASD course. Also the fact that it is a lot like the operating room vs being a field medic or corpsman. I’ve been teaching WRT/ASD for 20 years and I have seen countless new companies come through our program and be successful.
I love your counterintuitive suggestions- no equipment, no logo, etc. Not having insurance scares me a bit, but I guess you could get it set up and then call your agent on the way to the first project.
Keep up the good work. I recommend your channel to all my classes.
Best info ever!!! Atl, Ga!
my advice is go work for several companies first. They are always short staff and need people. It will be hell, but thats the best training there is.
Hey man, your videos are awesome. I was wondering if I can get some more knowledge I live in Chicago I want to start my own restoration company. I’m ready to pay you for your time.
Great advice Shane. IMHO the information about leads is the biggest thing. I would love to learn more from you about building a lead strategy.
My partner and I started a couple months ago and we’ve been flooded with work. We have an accountant, mit tech and laborer. My partner and I wear many hats. At times we walk jobs , advertise , do mit work, pack outs and whatever else comes with owning a full service restoration business. However, our biggest area of need is getting estimates out for mit/recon and dealing w adjusters/ TPA’s. Would your next hire be an estimator, GM or Mitigation manger ? GM’s and estimators cost more but are more available than MIT techs/Mit managers.
Did y’all do a franchise or your own thing
I would suggest slowing down and making some decisions on what you want out of the business. It is easy to build something that is a bitch 3 years later
have you been through our free course? It is pretty good

I would love to help you with your estimates. I am an insurance adjuster transitioning over to the remediation side.
@@bonit9897my husband and I are opening a restoration company. We planned on engaging a 3rd party estimating company. I'd love to connect.
Don’t buy a piece of equipment until you have a job to put it in that will pay for it . For example 1 week of time for a 600 cfm negative air will buy that machine. Now you have it for free for your next job that’s the best way to acquire equipment over time

Buying into a franchise they require you to do all the things you say you don't need to do...should have watched you before buying into a franchise
Which franchise did you end up partnering with?
