    Independent adjuster here. I do not make more money when I pay less. It’s actually the opposite. I can’t speak for staff adjusters, but independent adjusters get paid on a fee schedule. Basically the more it cost for repairs, the more I get paid. I’m actually incentivized on finding and paying for as much damage as I can. I will pay for anything and everything so long as the company guidelines allow me to do so

      Yes, that is correct. I am referring to insurance companies and the tactics used by staff adjusters. To your point, we did work with many independent adjusters that were comped based on the value of what was written.
      I am referring to the other bunch (which is the majority)
      Good luck out there

    I've pretty much stopped talking to any carriers. It seems to me that the best thing a homeowner can do is pay my bill and get reimbursed by the carrier. It seems to go super smooth when this happens. I've started writing up front quotes then having the homeowner pay me at completion of service. Works 100% of the time for both me and the homeowner without all the headaches that come with dealing with the carrier.

      that is a good plan so long as they can afford to pay the bill. Carriers play games

    I love the way you use your own estimates, makes more sense. They can't tell me how much to charge and what software to use .

    What do you do when the discount the carrier wants is more than you are willing to discount?

    • @TheRestorationContractor
      @TheRestorationContractor  Před 9 měsíci

      We accept up to 10% off. If they don't budge, collect the undisputed amount from the customer, deposit the funds and then collect the balance from the customer AFTER you deposit the undisputed amount
