Who is our worst-ever signing? 👇
The Day Ed Woodward stood up and declared to the world the Man Utd could do things in the transfer market other clubs could only dream of, is the day everything started going very wrong!
He wasn’t wrong. No one could fuck up transfers consistently the way he did.
No one gets there pants pulled down every transfer window like us.
Ed made some good money out of these transfers. He was smart enough to make deals with the banks and for the banks. Remember, he was an influential banker and was there to make money for this employers and himself.
I wouldn't be surprised that one day the law will catch up on them.
You've missed the biggest point. The high wages were all part of the strategy of overinflating the value of the club and its assets in order to favourably service the Glazer's debt
100%. It's all about the balance sheet and accounting.
Let's take the Phil Jones case. The way players are valued in the clubs books is that you take the total wages over the length of their contract and this is their value. Let's say you pay Phil Jones £10m a year on a 5 year contract. Phil Jones is now £50m (5 x 10) on the balance sheet. At the end of the first year of his contract, there's only £40m left to pay over the remaining 4 years, so his value is marked down to £40m. United have lost £10m.
At the end of the 2nd year of his contract, there's only 3 years left at £10m a year, so he's worth £30m... BUT United give him a new 5 year contract on £20m a year. Instead of a £10m loss this year, United have made a £70m "profit". Let's say you can sell him for £15m. Let's also say you're the glazers and you have the choice between the £70m "profit", or a £25m loss (40m at end of 2nd year -15m sale price). Do you choose the 70m profit or the loss?
This also applies to when we buy players, let's say we buy a player for 50m and pay him 60m over a 5 year contract. The fee for the player is spread out over each year of their contract, so United say they cost £10m per year. In the first year they spent £10m and get a £60m asset... That's a £50m "profit" by buying and overpaying a player, and the "profit" gets bigger the more they overpay the wages!!!
Yes eventually the club will run out of cash and go bankrupt, but the glazers don't give a damn and will cream the sweet, sweet money off the top.
Well said mate! @@joeberesford5015
.. Absolutely insane isn't it!
@DavidW3001 Thanks for pointing that out mate.😩😩😩😩
@@joeberesford5015 bankers got the hold of our club, everyone crying about players wages but we were paying huge wages to Rooney and co when they were here, yes we won trophies but our income was way less yet wages were never a problem, I wouldn’t be surpsurprised if our wages were pretty much the same they were 11 years ago throughout the squad!
This video is probably one of your best videos EVER made at this channel, its actually depressing but also very informative of WHY United are the way they are, its no wonder we haven't been successful in last 10 years
It’s a lot of things but the main points are:
1) Choosing a manager every 2-3 years that is vastly different from the previous manager. A different system requires new players to play that system. The Glazers spend a lot of money but never go fully in on the system (not selling players from old system and not buying all the players needed for the new system).
2) Developing a culture of overpaying on transfer fees and salaries. Clubs know that Man Utd will pay silly money if they want a player enough. High wages also impact ability to sell if the player fails.
3) Decisions are sometimes made for reasons other than football. Ronaldo’s return shouldn’t have happened according to Solskjaer but City were in for him… Sanchez was not needed at the time but his stock was high at the time.
One correction: "The Glazers spend a lot of the club's money" but I agree with all three points. The first point is crucial that a lot of fans seem to ignore and yet seem to ponder why the quality of football drops when Ten Hag subs players from the first team off or they get injured. You can say that he signed Hojlund, Antony, Onana, blah, blah, blah etc. but the system needs 22 players with similar profiles in each position or at least subs that can bring in new dimensions/energy to any game, we don't have that because it's a patchwork squad of players from different systems vastly different to Ten Hag's one or just emergency loans/free agents coming in to fill a gap.
@@mikester4896 you’re 💯 on the correction. Thanks for pointing it out. Glazers never spent a penny but will drive the club into huge debt. It comes back to poor planning and non existent business acumen at the club.
@@pratosaurusrex1128TBF, it’s great business acumen: FOR THEIR BENEFIT. This is how American corporations are run-maximize returns for the largest shareholders (i.e., the board). When things go tits up, declare bankruptcy and restructure. Glazernomics is brilliant if you’re a Glazer.
The talk you guys are having about Casemiro is the exact conversation we had about Fabinho at the end of last season. The drop off just becomes massive, like you don't want to risk another year on them incase they are gone cause they just keep getting worse.
The wage structure should be based on whether youd get the same wage elsewhere. We have players that wouldnt start for another "big 6" team but are on more than almost all their players. If you cant earn 150k elsewhere, you should be delighted with 175k at United... 200+ is insane.
The ridiculous contracts United have been handing out for a long time now are yet another reason I don't want us to sign players for over 50 million transfer fees.
You can't justify giving an 80 million signing a normal 100K salary when other big signings are on double and triple that.
So only by signing 30/40 million players can we naturally reduce our wages.
Glazers/Woodward broke the wage structure completely...as an hypothetical example, if we signed Sancho on £350k per week, in 3 or 4 years when we want him to sign a new deal, we have to offer to increase on that wage and there's no way we can expect him to say "yes" to a reduced wage...
Antony was on 20k per week at Ajax, now we're paying him £200k per week that he's done nothing so far to earn...
Utd youth team did the treble tonight. They are an absolute generationally special team no exaggeration. Please do NOT fuck this up Utd.
If recent history shows, we’ll loan them out for three or four years when they hit 17/18 and then sell them for a million quid.
@@davidgriffith1552 yes exactly what I’m afraid of. Let’s hope the new regime are a little more discerning.
Varane cost 570k per appearance. I’m not sad to see him go. Martinez needs an injury free season next year too.
...and the rest. Varane's salary is £17.6m per year on top of a £30m transfer fee. He's only made 93 appearances for United in 3 years. It's almost £1m per match.
He played 230 games in 10 years at Madrid, even dumb and dumber's thicker cousin could have told you he would only be playing in half the games a season if lucky, absolute madness.
@@mundolioknows6447 I was doing just wages but with transfer fee it’s grim.
@@andychatt23 Real never sell anyone good, with the acceptation of odegaard.
@@andychatt23 that was league games. He made 360 appearances for Madrid in total. Still not great though.
We didn’t double Casemiros wage at all. They said on talk of the devils it was basically the same weekly wage, it was the length of contact that was the enticing part for case.
Everyone talks about varane and casemiro's age and say " their not that old." The problem isn't their age, its the mileage on their bodies
If you're good enough, you're old enough. And it works the opposite way at the other end of the age scale too.
@mentality-monster no it doesn't, that's why you see 17/18 year old going in the premier league and not 50 year olds. Maturity is different to father time.
What about Modric and Benzema? 2 years ago when they were both mid 30s and older than both Varane and Casemiro they were being rated as some of the best players in the world in their positions for that season. 59 goal involvements for Benzema in 21/22 when he was 33/34. Modric won the balon d'or at 33 5 years ago. Age isn't really the issue here when you're 30-35, unless you're a winger although some wingers adapt very well like Giggs... it's ability and it always has been.
@lockstock1426 of course it's about the ability, doesn't matter how old they are if they're still performing at a high level, like Luke and benzema were. My original point with casemiro and varane was that their ability has dropped because of the mileage in their bodies and not because they're too old
@@KingJaffeJoffer99 I understand your point and it has merit, but @lockstock1426 is making the point that contradicts yours, as both of these (Modric even more so due to age and playing higher tempo Prem football for a fair few years too) would have mileage on their bodies also.
Coming round to the view that Antony is Ten Hag’s biggest indictment. Not because he’s awful (though that doesn’t help). It’s because he knew him before we signed him, and his attitude stinks. That Ten Hag didn’t see/anticipate that is a massive red flag on the manager
Fyi, Mount’s offer from Chelsea was allegedly 200k per week. So we had to beat that in order to get him.
He basically saved the season for united. What a player.
Should have let them have him, I could have told them a year ago that he was shit
Holy cow. Shocking some of these pay increases. Will no one come to United unless we double their salary? The only one I agree with is Martinez. He’s underpaid actually.
Poor transfer was sign adam mckola to stretford paddack media team he hardly on any show or watch alongs these days think it time to relase him on a free
Especially when he is a top earner. Gotta free up the wage bill.
All he ever does is talk over people
Always on the treatment table that one. But he's like Reece James, he's one of the best when fit and available.
Give joe mcgrath more game time, gotta trust the youth😂
He's part owner of the channel isn't he? Don't think he's an employee
At least we recouped nearly what we paid for di maría and lukaku. Even with Pogba there were teams willing to give us over £100 mil for him but for whatever reason we chose not to sell. With Sancho, maguire, and Antony I don’t even think we’ll get back half of what we spent on them.
Should be a maximum 200k a week moving forward with possible bonuses for trophies. Some might argue world stars won't come. Good, theyre generally mercenaries anyway. If a player emerges from the squad as a consistent prem player of the year contender then we could offer higher money like a Salah or De Bruyne get. Woodward should be thrown in jail for what he did to the club
When Casemiro left Madrid, it had a very "Fergie" feel about it - i.e., it's better to get rid of a player a year too soon rather than a year too late.
I recall the feeling many years ago of thinking most away games against any top 6 team should be a victory. Nowadays I wouldn’t bet on us winning comfortably away to any PL side, not to mention our home statistic this year. Give us back the old days INEOS, please.
Nah. United ruined the league for too long, stealing every single top talent from emerging clubs. United could only compete when it was a monopoly league. That's never happening again.
@@tankourito5419 Lol name the times we did that with emerging talent, I can think of two maybe? Rooney, Ferdinand? Who else? Salty guy. 😂
@@tankourito5419The team at the top of any league does that. Bayern do that, Real and Barca, now city. So do all the leagues get ruined cuz of that? Players want to move to the next level rather than staying at a mid table emerging clubs.
Oricalos. Ince? Keane? Robson?
@@tankourito5419United, i'm sure you'd agree, have been abysmal for the last decade. With that said, we still earn more money than any other club in the league. We are one of the top earners in World football, still, despite being shit. Money matters you see and when we get to the top - which we will - we'll do what ever we want and sign who we want. Like we have done before because we are the biggest club in this league and we're Manchester United. Saying 'will never happen again' is basically you hoping it will never happen again
Wages have been insane for quite a while tbh.. Even the guys sitting on a bench forever with injuries hiding hoping they can just collect and even then they get renewed lmao.
I'd love if we started low and rewarded them for winning certain trophies and some performance rewards
Really great video , thanks guys! You hit the nail on the head here
We need to do what AC Milan did and go through a 3-4 year wage reduction process. Might mean we lose some players we don't want to but we will be in a much better place in the longer term. Got to be patient as this happens
we have been signing a few players that other clubs have been rejecting or letting go for not being too good.
matic, casemiro, varane, mata, di maria, sanchez.
and these players had one season in em, and they did well for a season or two , some not even one.
For a podcast like this I'd recommend going by the athletic info for eg. Re: Casemiro it's reported in one of their latest article that we didn't double his wages to get him, the advantage was in length of contract. And his wage now will be lower than at Madrid because no UCL
LVG had few altercations with Toni Kroos back at Bayern.. and he loan out Kroos to Leverkusen..
With this Casemiro transfer you need to realise that he had 2 years left on his RM deal on 200+k euros, the idea that he'd leave his legacy there and come for the same duration and money is laughable. The fact was as well that RM did not want to sell him, but would have him run down his deal and bed in Tchouameni, that is just part of their longer term transfer strategy. That, coupled with United desperation to bring someone in resulted in that absurd price tag. RM were in disbelief that they got their money back after replenishing the position with a 8 year younger player and it cost them 10m.
There seems to be a scapegoat culture where we have to find someone to blame. Ten hag is for many the current scapegoat. The rot is so deep that any manager will make mistakes and fail. Let’s sort out the rot above and below the manager and give him one more season to show us what he can do
This has been an excellent show. Great analysis 👍
Change the culture, change the team. These managers all had success prior to United. The culture is the problem. Erik ten Hag is not the problem.
The whole “why did we sign 30 year old players on such contracts instead of Caceido” is pure hindsight
We signed one of the supposedly best young players in the world in Sancho and look how that turned out.
This club ruins these players: young and old.
If we had signed Modric and left Casemiro at Real, he’d have been fine and Modric would have looked like Eriksen
Crazy he turned out that he could potentially win the game UCL. I woul love him to score the winner just to make you bitter united fans sour🤣
One of your best discussions. Thank you 🙏🏽
We would not have been able to attract a big name player unless we offered them these ridiculously high wages
Then don't. We attracted Bruno on a much lower wage, and he has been our best signing of the last decade. You don't have to sign big-name players. In fact, we outright shouldn't. Name a single big name signing that has worked out for us since Fergie left.
Unfortunately we decided to put Bruno on crazy wages too despite him having years left on his deal because our club never learns.
Dead right we can only attract mercenaries now.
Thank you so much for this video. I have been saying this for a while, pay increase have been a joke. I’m sure back in the 90’s the max pay rise was around 5% to move clubs .
You missed the fact that the club gave Rashford £350k a week before all those players joined! It was this deal that broke the pay limit at the club and what all the others are based on!
I’m no expert but are these big transfers and contract contributing to a club asset which increases the value of the club. This then means they can borrow more money from the banks and put the debt against the club. Outcome being, the club appear to have more income and the owners get their dividends…?
ManU needs to start signing talent instead of established names. They are buying players who can no longer play, or never were good enough, for way too much money.
But when we sign "talent" instead of big names we end up with Fred, Dalot, AWB, Martial, players who are objectively not good enough and 3 of them were signed for around 50 million anyway!
@@lockstock1426 which demonstrates why a complete house cleaning is necessary.
33:27 Fabregas from Barcelona was fumbled by Woodward
On the subject of Liverpool spending big on players. 8/10 has worked out for them bar Keita and Nunez. Allison, Van Dijk, Szoboslai, Fabinho, Salah, McAlister, Jota, Konate and Mane have been successful and won many trophies along the way while our big signings has been objectively awful bar Bruno Fernandes and that's me setting the bar so low. Casemiro is passed it, Lukaku was anonymous in the big games like Bruno Fernandes, Di Maria didn't work out, Pogba was inconsistent and injured, Fred was awful, Antony and Sancho are disaster class signings, Maguire became a meme because we were dumb making him the most expensive defender ever, Matic was passed it and we've ruined Mata and Donny. All of them has either left on a loss or will leave on a loss because we're idiots in transfers and none of the huge signings has got us close to winning the Premier League title. Years of incompetence has cost us big time in the long term and we haven't recovered from it. Like the flood that flooded Old Trafford, Manchester United are flooded in mediocrity.
We are not a transitional team we are a team in transition. We may go backwards before we go forwards. Hopefully the new structure will enable our manager to reset in the summer and take us forward.
Ten hag is rightly criticised and I would not enjoy what I see if I was lucky enough to live in England and go to matches; but we need greater perspective. There are some improvements. One is our away record against top 4 teams away. This season we won at Villa, drew at Liverpool, didn’t get battered at city. On another day we could have got a result at Chelsea arsenal and spurs.
Ten hag is bringing young players through carefully and is committed to do so.
Ajax had forwards who tracked back If we get widemen wingers and full backs who can pass and cross - like olise and frimpong that would make such a difference to our goal scoring as well as our defending from front.
Don't forget Casemiro/Varane paid way less tax in Spain, so our on paper wages for them would look much bigger just to match their take home from Real Madrid.
People forget that when LvG was at Bayern, Kroos was a young player he loaned out both of his seasons as manager. No surprise LvG didn't want him but it's a huge miss by the club.
I agree with the overall point of the video but some of the figures are incorrect and without context. Mount was getting a similar contract offer from Chelsea which he rejected so he would have gotten a wage raise at whichever club he was at this season.
Also, Sancho was on at least double what you guys stated he was on according to German media.
Those contacts for those players literally made me sick any fan could of done a better job negotiating wages for the club
Don’t forget tax rules - in uk half of theses wages will go to tax, those rules are different in Spain/germany/italy so we may have to pay more so their take home pay stays the same
It's historically known that Braizilians peat out really quick in the Prem amd not many have longevity but Casemiro's decline is frighteningly bad amd getting a fee for him is good business.
most of the players were looking at signing right now seem fairly average or slightly above average at best, be a long time before we challenge again
Jay just highlighting the problem we have as United fans, we complain when we sign players in late 20s for massive money/wages, then we complain that we didn’t go all out to get Kane in the summer🤣🤣 even if we had Kane our players wouldn’t pass him the ball he’d be washed
Didn't want kane. Too old, expensive. United don't need any one player. 10 players away. Mentality should top the list of requirements.
@@playedout148 fairs lad but loads of people did want him including ten hag
We only focused on the "big names" wage think about the fringe players like Brandon Williams who's apparently on 50k a week, DVB mist be on at least 100k a week, Greenwood is probably the same those 3 potentially are 250k a week and not even playing here we could easily get 1.5 mil a week off the wages this summer without even blinking an eye
Evening all.
I think a lot of people are missing a huge factor. Manchester United have nothing to offer bar money.
Since Ferguson retired, we’ve finished, 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 6th, 3rd and likely 8th this year.
We are more of a Europa League team than we are a Champions league team. We don’t compete for the league, we don’t even compete in the Champs league whilst we’re in the. In fact we usually drop down into the Europa League.
This club has nothing to offer bar throwing money at clubs and their players.
I can't agree more, it's the only thing we can offer anymore lot's of money, if we don't we won't get hardly anyone, if we do offer loads of money we just end up with mercenaries who just come for the money and are probably not very good.
@@StickyBud9395 Mate, we have absolutely nothing to offer. Players aren’t coming to work under top managers, we don’t have state of the art training facilities or stadium (just look at Sunday). Again, we haven’t competed for the league in 10+yrs. We’re a Europa League side, chasing Champions league qualification and it is only due to the size of the club that we could spend on transfers like we did.
Held to ransom by so many players and their agents, we paid for players to help us get into 4th place.
When fans cry and complain about us missing out on “the managers 1st choice signings” and having to settle for 3rd or 4th options, the answer is very simple - why would that 1st choice see us as a good choice other than money. Why would Kane choose us over Munich? Why would any player in their prime choose 8th place United over any other top European side, other than money?
Joe makes a great point on Antony, if you overpay for other players new players will just use their previous transfers to justify their own contract
the harry kane argument would totally negate the whole Varane-Casemiro argument though. saying getting Varane-Casemiro for high transfer fees and huge wage is a big mistake but doing the same for harry kane is not? while kane is proven in PL, Varane-Casemiro are CL winners! let's just agree that hindsight is 20/20 and the club needs a different transfer strategy.
Ed Woodward, he's the one who put us in this mess, first off he was terrible at negotiating which meant we paid the overinflated asking price all the time, and then I'm sure for accounting purposes to make the club appear more valuable, he offered plaer bigger contract and instead of letting players leave on a free, he offered them a contract again likely for accounting reason to increase the asset value of the club on the books, maybe for sponsorship and bank lending reasons.
The only good thing Woodward implimented was the paycut if the team didn't qualify for Champions League clause he put in contracts, (except De Gea whose contract was before than clause was added.)
Mourinho said the club had a choice between Lindelof and Van Dijk, Mane said he spoke with LVG.
5:01 don’t forget the £70m dare I say that could’ve been better spent
We need to start looking within the league again. Yes we will pay a premium but they are already adjusted to the league.
Brilliant show lads been wanting this covering really good take on the mess 👍🏻
Harry Kane is absolutely Casemiro in 2 years time. He’s class but that last 2 years in his 5 year deal will be a nightmare
Fellaini, Alexis and Pogba are the most damaging signings of the Glazer Destruction
Getting rid of the players isn’t about making money off transfer fees it’s about saving wages and restructuring the wages. Some
Players it would be worst PAYING them to get them off the books a la Martial
I have to switch off when you're talking about the Casemiro deal; there's NO United fan that would have given an ageing Madrid player on his way out of that club, DOUBLE the wages he was getting, on a FOUR year deal; that's INSANE!
I get me so angry at what so-called business ppl have been doing to the club. WHO THE F*** signed off on that deal?!
tell me good reasons why
dean henderson

are not in united team / squad right now.... when we have had cantona, giggs, etc. no matter what they were like or their behaviors off the pitch
Good Video lads
Don't always agree with Joe but he's spot on in this video. Great explanation. 👍
Casemiro showed signs of decline towards the end of last season. After his suspensions he came back and he wasn't the same. Then over the summer he looked seriously chubby and has never looked right again.
Transfer strategy has definitely been horrendous. Unfortunately we had Woodward pulling the strings for years then when we FINALLY gave the responsibility to someone else we chose the buffoon that is Erik Ten Hag and he made Woodward look good 😂😂😂
it hit the corner at 13:20 :)
I know that Casemiro has seemingly lost what little pace he had. But the idea that people have that he is “fat” is nonsense. His face is very round, but the guy is in elite condition, he is just slow over the first 10-20 yards and the prem is all about that.
Literally quite often signing the contract is job done at United. You are then hopeful on goodwill
Joe is spot on here 👏🏻
Antony's conversation was simple raise dust at Ajax, and we will give anything u want. Bam.. Ant goes on strike, Fabrizio interview comes in shortly and done settle ur end Murtogh
Another one: Jose wanted prime Périsic and the club kicked back. We almost certainly would have gone to the next level with him
The only way you change it is getting rid of EVERYONE and starting again rashford and bruno included or players gonna ask for what there on
Top analysis of the shocking waste behind the scenes at UTD. The plus has got to be that we finally have people who know what they are doing at reigns. It MUST get better.
Ten Hack is anti genius...lol
Omg that list of players we missed out on makes things even more depressing 🤦♂️
I'm not against the signing of Mason mount but the details of the deal are outrageous. And the way it's worked out it's been a disaster. The damage done by some of these deals is going to cost us for years. Say we sign a new winger and he's on half what Antony is and is twice the player. Creates bad feelings in the players.
antony was valued at 30 million max.... but that i feel is down to ten hag..... he forced it... ajax sell one player each season. they sold martinez.... so then they sold antony for 90 million,. a winger 90 million.... is like.... someone who scores 15 goals a season and gives 15 assists. not antony. who hasnt
Anthony is only on £75,000 at united lads! 🤔🧐
And when they have done all that mess when leave they still get a big bonus for messing up
Anybody who truly watches LaLiga knew Casemiro got away with murder while wearing that Madrid kit. He was never the best cdm and is getting found out.
I think a big club comes in for bruno ,possibly madrid
if youre paying top wages in europe then . they have to be expected to play the best
Checking a players instergram following is not a transfer policy
Kieran McKenna is the modern day Wilf McGuiness
I wonder is Antony is manscaped
Gents, the assumption you both are making that others in the team had to negotiate a deal to get their new contracts. The reality is that the management were all too willing to give out high wages and contracts as it helped their assets on the books. That's why the CFO went out of the club, without a replacement. ..which is a sign how INEOS cannot operate in the same way as before and are having to make that change ahead of the new transfer window.
Transfers Fees at United should be capped at no more than 60m and Wages should be capped at 150k...this surely is the way forward. Right!
The ludicrous sums of money thrown around by the inept morons in charge of United over the last 10 years is just madness!
The time as come for United to get real, get there house in order and not be hold to ransom over transfers and player demands.
Hopefully, Ineos and Sir Jim will sort this mess going forward 🙏🏻
Great programme, gentlemen, but sadly also one of the most depressing. The scale of incompetence at the club is frightening.
Selling De Gea was our biggest mistake at least for this season when we had so many defensive injuries and Onana was a horrendous signing and replacement... ETH is just getting hit with some Karma rn for selling our golden glove winner.
The way Utd treated De Gea a legend of the club was a real disgrace .
we could have signed decent / very good 20 players.... for 400 million . and would could have finished in top four. but we keep making these mistakes . now we cant have a transition czu we have had that.... we have to replace a few players now... and the rest who are young .... and have been expensive buys. they have to be improved. no other option. antony diallo etc.
I can't listen to Joe and Jay complain about not signing Kane when they were bashing the prospective deal because "I don't want to spend £100M on a 30 year old"
Yeah but his piano playing was unprecedented!
Antony agent is ten hags brother....this is the reason he got such a huge pay rise
8:16 Caicedo's been absolutely class, second best player this season for Chels, I wouldn't be using him to make yourself feel better

I like that Joe's back but ngl since he's been back there's been wayyyy to much footie focus than usual which naturally given the state of affairs is depressing af. Get Mckola on, I wanna talk about eastenders & random pop culture trivia from the 2000s
some of these players now .... who are in their prime... few only... they would be thinking why stay at united when we can be playing in the top competition. champions league. like sancho, like bruno, like rashford even dalot
Martinez and Bruno are the two signings in the last few seasons that have come in and done well. They both came in on modest wages(for United) and were playing for that big contract. Bruno got his big contract after 2 seasons of outstanding play(he might have even dropped off since his contract). Martinez is on course for his big payday aswell. Rashford last season was playing for a new contract and killed it. Luke Shaw is notorious for playing out of his skin when its a contract year. These players are giving their all when they're motivated for a pay day. Its human nature...not sure what the solution is really but its clear to see the pattern.
